Another excellent meal at Brick. My wife and I sat at a table in the bar area tonight instead of our usual seats at the bar. We were meeting another couple to celebrate my birthday. Our server tonight was someone I hadn't had before. I guess I'm a bit old-fashioned, but I was a little thrown off -- as were our friends -- by the nose ring she had in the center of her nose. It just wasn't to our taste and felt a little out of place for the setting. Still, she was polite and professional. She took our drink and appetizer orders promptly. We finished those and placed our dinner orders. Our friends ordered another round of drinks, but they took a while to come out -- in fact, our meals arrived first, and we were still waiting for the drinks. Right as I was about to check in with her, the last salad came out. For dinner, my wife ordered one of her go-to dishes: the kale salad with chicken. Our friends also got the kale salad with chicken and a smashed burger with a side salad. I had one of my favorites -- the salumi pizza. Everything was excellent, as always. When our server found out it was my birthday, she surprised us with a plate of two chocolate truffles and a lit candle. It was a very thoughtful gesture and much appreciated. read more

This is usually a go to in the Prince Frederick area if you want good food. Last night was no exception. We sat on the hipper 'bar side' of the restaurant in a booth. The Thursday night game was in and they had the volume up to 'I can't hear you speaking volume, This is why I subtracted a star mainly. I ordered the Tomahawk Pork chop. I am sooo glad I did. This was the best pork chop I've ever had! It was thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The fat that is normally in the outside of the pork chop is something that I normally don't eat. NOT TONIGHT. The chef crisped the edges of the fat. When taking a bite of the edge, you got the crispy fat (almost like thin bacon) and the date when chewed melted like butter and mixed with the meat. So good. I ate the whole thing, and I'm NOT ashamed to tell you I picked up the bone and gnawed on it a little! read more

Dined here with my family (of 4). The restaurant had a nice appeal to it. It's pretty large with one side having booth seating and a bar and the other side had standard table seating. It was clean and the restrooms were immaculate. Our server was GREAT! She was very attentive and polite. The food was just okay. The baby kale Caesar salad was a nice portion size, but lacked flavor in the dressing. We tried the Double BBQ wings as well as the Korean BBQ wings. The Double BBQ were okay and the Korean ones were a bit salty. Also, they could have been cooked a touch longer. The best thing we had was the Spicy crab pizza. It was a hit! I would definitely recommend it. The mussels weren't bad. They had a different twist as they had meat in the sauce which was different, but not a deal breaker. We tried the chorizo sliders were delicious; they were flavorful and had a bit of spice (which I LOVE). I will revisit due to the excellent customer service and to try another pizza on the menu. read more

This review is for an event held tonight at Brick. The restaurant was extremely busy. They had several private parties going too, including a wedding reception, and our smaller family anniversary celebration with about 20 guests. They have several private event spaces, and the layout, with the ability to close sliding doors, really made it seem private. The food was delicious, and the servers were great. They served a bruschetta bread with topping, then a plate of crab balls for each table (really good), then ceasar salad, the entree (mine was salmon) and dessert. Not sure if it was an off night or if they're going through growing pains, challenges, or big changes. Went with a party of six on a rainy Saturday. We were immediately sat, but it took quite a while for our waiter to come over. Once he did, he was friendly. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Those came quickly and were great. We ordered a kids meal, three pizzas (one was GF), a catfish sandwich, and a burger. One pizza came out ahead of the others and then the waiter came back and said they were out of GF pizza dough, so we could order something else. Immediately behind him was the rest of our food. So one person was ultimately not going to have their meal with the rest of us. She ended up ordering a salad and it came quickly. One bite of the catfish and it was undercooked and not edible. We told the waiter and the manager came over, offered a free beer and to make something "super super quick". After a bite of undercooked fish the person was not in the mood for anything else and declined the beer. The beer was still brought. The one pizza was great, the other was incorrect. For the price, the food was subpar. The server was great. Their menu has also shrunk from previous experiences. We'll probably skip this one for a while. read more

New to southern MD I've been searching for a hangout, and this is likely it! If only it wasn't so far from Waldorf. The bar area is spacious with bar seating and plenty of booths around. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I flew solo, which makes it tough to order variety. Appetizers only unfortunately. The fries were rad! Amazing! And they came out hot! Buffalo wings were great just not how I expect "Buffalo" wings. The sauce was thin and resembled a dry rub (also available) not the thick orange slathering one might expect. The heat was moderate. If, like me, you like the facemelting spicy flavors, look elsewhere. I look forward to coming back to try the pizza. read more

The appetizers were good we got brussel sprouts, crab dip, and oysters and they were all great! Our waitress was nice and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. That is where the good thing end besides the pork chop. They should rename brick to pork chop because that is the only entree in the menu that has any semblance of flavor unless you love truffle oil because they have that in abundance. My mom got the chicken under a brick and it was bland and flavorless. The mashed potatoes that came with it also tasted of nothing and half of them were gritty and watery but the mustard greens were delicious. I got a mushroom pizza and they weren't kidding when they say drizzle of truffle oil because it was a bit overpowering but other than that the flavor of the pizza was good. This is the fourth time we've eaten there and this will be the last unless we have a hinkering for a pork chop which was very good. read more

We randomly chose this restaurant when we were looking for somewhere new to go for New Year's Eve where we could also take our infant. Everyone here was very friendly. The ambiance was nice. But the best part was the food. We had the Crab Avocado Stack appetizer and the Maryland Crab pizza and both were amazing!! It was seriously the best crab we've had in this area. My friend and I came here for dinner and I was originally sat on the dining side but realized you could only get the happy hour specials on the bar side so I asked the waitress if I could be moved. They were super accommodating and quickly changed our seating location. So if you happy hour specials you need to sit on the bar side!! We started off with the crispy brussel sprouts which were on the happy hour menu and they were delicious. Very crispy and were served with a yummy aioli. For my entree I got the crab cake BLT (B for pork Belly) and it was so delicious! Tons of flavor! I also ordered the brick fries which I couldn't get enough of. So addicting!! Brick definitely has some high quality items on the menu here! Both times I have been, I have been impressed with the level of food and cooking. I have ordered both the crab alfredo and the braised short rib and both were delicious! -1 star because the prices are definitely a bit hefty for the location. Also, the wine menu prices made no sense. The restaurant does not serve bottles of wine, everything is on tap. So instead of a bottle of wine, they serve in carafes. For a 5 Oz pour of Pinot noir, it is $9.50. We ordered a carafe thinking it would be a better deal, but the carafe (which only held about 4 five Oz pours) is $45. So it is cheaper to order 4 individual glasses than a carafe which is usually the opposite at other restaurants. read more

The band made it a bit too loud for me so I asked to be seated in a quieter area of the building. I ordered a spicy sausage sandwich along with a locally brewed coffee stout. We went for brunch and we're very disappointed. In the lobby the sign said omelettes we're on the brunch menu. Our server said they hadn't been for a long time. My fiancée and I both ordered a starter and a main course. He had both of his and a box for his leftovers and I still hadn't received anything. We kept waiting and eventually my main course arrived cold. No starter. It was the eggs Benedict and it looked to only have about a teaspoon of Hollandaise sauce on it. I requested more sauce which the server brought but it was pointless because it had absolutely no flavor. The eggs were poached well but nothing was seasoned and the overly sweet biscuit base was disgusting. The potatoes that came with it were so salty they were inedible. I'm fairly sure that MSG was put on them because I'm allergic to it and had my usual reaction to it after trying just a few of them. My fiancée received his starter which he said was ok but strange. It was the hush puppies. His breakfast pizza was terrible. Weird combination of flavors and doused it a slop of sauce. The crust was good. Not sure who creates the menu now but it's terrible. The service is pathetic. It didn't used to be so bad there. Something has changed. Don't waste your money. read more

Reviewed during MD COVID Phase 2 Reopening (outdoor and indoor seating allowed): This is the first restaurant we've visited and actually sat inside. In terms of social distancing efforts provided by management, I would give even more stars if I could. We sat in a booth section. Every other booth was unavailable for seating meaning there was no one across from us or behind us on either side of our booth. Patty was our server. Very sweet and covered with mask and gloves. The two most impressive things about this experience, however, were that no physical menus were exchanged and Patty was equipped with her own personal POS system. For menus, there was simply a table tent with a QR code on it that you can scan with your smart phone camera to get a copy of their menu in the palm of your hand (insert applause emoji). If you are not familiar with what a POS is, it is the point of sales system that servers use to place your order. Having your own POS as a server is a BIG DEAL (speaking from my former experience as a server). It means your server is entering your order as you provide it, not taking it, writing it down and waiting his or her turn to submit it at one of the probably two stations in the restaurant risking the chance of your server getting pre-occupied or forgetting altogether. In terms of COVID, it means she's not sharing a high touch area with her co-workers and ultimately with you. It also means you can swipe your own card and your server does not have to touch it. Regarding our meals, we ordered the charcuterie board, the NY strip burger and the meatball appetizer. I really enjoyed the blue cheese on the board which is never my go-to cheese for charcuterie but was surprisingly my favorite thing on the board. My husband's burger unfortunately was really, really salty. Pretty much too salty to eat. At first we thought it was just a condiment on the burger but upon dissection, we realized it was in fact the burger. The brick fries, however can make anything better so he just enjoyed those instead (hey Brick can we get a garlic aioli with those...it would definitely take them to another level!) The star of the evening was without a doubt the Sublime Gimlet. Gimlets are usually my drink of choice but this gimlet by far exceeded my expectations. It's served with an elderflower foam with lime zest on top. Who knew an elderflower foam is what my gimlet needed! Order it!! I don't believe reservations are required but we did make reservations before visiting. I recommend Brick if you are ready to venture back to eating out. We definitely felt safe and comfortable. Huge kudos to this restaurant for all of the COVID pre-cautions taken to keep us safe. Thank you! Oh, and outdoor dining is also available. I also forgot to mention the cute little single serve social distancing bottles of ketchup :) read more
