Tap Taphouse Burger

Second time there. First time having food. Had the Taphouse burger made out of lamb. Excellent. Great selection of good draft beer choices. Service was good. Looks like fun when you can sit outside.

Packed house on a cold winer night tells you it was a great night!

On a cold winter night in January in Maryland, Taphouse 1637 was packed for the Bar Comedy USA THE PUB & GRUB COMEDY TOUR from Jeremy Jerdog Danley last night, Saturday January 20, 2925 Taphouse 1637 is not only a great place to watch comedy, it is a great place to eat and drink! Those in the crowd got plenty of each. The featured act was Comedian Rick Allen.. a touring comic based in New York City who wrote for The David Letterman Show and now writes for the famous puppet Madam. I opened the show. Before the began, I was fortunate enough to eat dinner at Taphouse 1637 The Indian food is excellent, as are the drinks. I highly recommend the butter chicken with the garlic naan! One does not generally associate Southern Maryland with excellent Indian food but now is the time to start! Taphouse 1637 is a fine sports bar, but much much...a tribute to Sunny the owner, who works the floor to take care of his guests! The Bar Comedy USA show from Jeremy Jerdog Danley will be back in February and March so head on over to barcomitix.com and get your tickets before the place sells out again!

A great spot to hang out. There is a fairly large parking lot and it was pretty popular already on a Wednesday afternoon. We sat at the bar and Maggie was great. She gave us some small samplers before we ended up ordering a flight. A good number of beers on tap and she provided plenty of recommendations. The flight comes with 4 beers: Sixpoint Hyper Beam - double IPA but a really good fruity flavor. You can definitely taste the passionfruit and guava. Hofbräu Dunkel - pretty good and easy to drink. I didn't mind drinking this. 3 Floyds Apocalypse Cow - not exactly what I was expecting but still pretty decent. Great Lakes Christmas Ale - generally one of my favorite beers and definitely recommend. We did also try the Oskar Blues Maduro Brown and it was a dark brown Ale and somewhat nutty flavor. We did try the pickles fries which were hot and crispy. Great flavor and not overly salty.

We've been to the taphouse many times and always have a great experience. Huge beer selection, great variety of martinis and an impressive food menu for a bar. Service is always seamless. On Tuesday's they have taco and margarita specials. Tacos are $3, and are huge. I struggle to finish two. But my favorite thing about the taphouse is all the events, dueling pianos, trivia, drag brunches, etc. there's something for everyone.

We needed a place to have my son's rehearsal dinner. There were not a lot of options available in the timeframe we needed, and the budget we had decided on. I had never been to the Taphouse (I live in CA), but my son had, and thought that it might work. We are so thankful that we landed here. The private room was the perfect size for our group of 42, and lent itself to the atmosphere we wanted to have for our guests, who ranged from 1 - 88 years old! Our server was fantastic (I wish I can remember her name), and the owner, Sunny, and his crew kept the buffet full! The whole experience put a smile on all our faces. Thank you Sunny, for letting us set-up early, and for giving our event everything we needed to be successful!

Stopped in on a Tuesday night; it's our first visit. The place was relatively quiet and there were…read morenot many visitors. It's a very clean establishment and the staff that greeted us were professional and very friendly. We perused the menu and decided on Thai chili mussels and cheesesteak egg rolls for apps, water and a fig martini for our drinks. The egg rolls came with marinara dipping sauce which was different. Both appetizers were good but lacked in flavor. They were both missing an umami flavor that would have elevated them. The eggs rolls specifically could have benefited from more cheese, a better quality of steak (the menu described it as having rib eye but it was very chewy..I know good ribeye has a nice fat cap but this wasn't that), and salt. The mussels had the spice from the red curry paste but again was missing salt. Sea salt or even soy sauce being added would have elevated that dish. It could have also benefited from some fresh garlic and a fresh herb like Thai basil. To note my martini was very sweet. It was comprised of fig vodka which intrigued me but it just wasn't for me. Our mains were the double crab cake dinner and I ordered a Caesar salad with cajun salmon. My salad was executed okay but with one exception: the dressing. I don't know what it was but it was definitely not a classic Caesar dressing. If you love a good Caesar salad you know the dressing is a crucial element to that salad and as much as I was looking forward to this dish, it failed. The salmon was cooked perfectly, there were shards of parm and not shreds which was a welcome addition and the romaine lettuce fell a bit short as well as it wasn't crisp. Overall I finished the salmon but not all of the remainder of the salad. It was just ok but the salmon definitely saved it. My husband had the crab cake dinner and he enjoyed it very much. There was not much filler in them and they were made with lump crab meat..I venture to say maybe even jumbo lump. I tasted them; they were seasoned very well. The dinner came with fingerling potatoes and coleslaw. I didn't get to taste the potatoes because my husband devoured those..so I guess they were good. I had a bit of the coleslaw and it was dressed well and flavorful; the celery seed in it was pronounced and it wasn't overly dressed in sauce which was good; the cabbage and other vegetables were able to retain a nice crunch. All in all we agreed although some things about our meal could be improved, we would certainly come back. There was a nice vibe in there, that allowed for a great laid back early week date night.

Good food and service. Kind of spread out, but that's OK. If these guys were in a better location…read moreor had slightly better visibility, I feel like they'd be a lot busier. Chill vibe inside. Regardless, it's a solid place for a meal or to get friends from work together. Thumbs up!

We got there at 9:30 and the kitchen was closing at 10:00.. we had the smash burger, the atomic smash burger, clam strips, and chicken wings.. all the fried foods were amazing, including the fries that come with the clam strips. Right away, I could tell they were using fresh frying oil and everything was freshly fried.. most places double fry precooked stuff and use old oil.. to my surprise, everything was freshly made! Smash burger, they have smash burger! What? The fact that they served their signature Atomic smash burger with jalapeño, cheese, an onion ring, pulled pork or brisket, bacon, plus coleslaw?? This was amazing! The standard smash burger was just burger patties and cheese.. it was also really good. Chicken wings were like Korean fried chicken level good wings. I was a bit surprised how plump and juicy they were with really good sauce.. the waitress recommended Old Bay honey and lemon pepper, a half-and-half order that was amazing.. my daughter substituted her smash burger fries with green string beans.. wow, that was really amazing.. not some canned, mushy string beans, but rather really fresh, almost like they picked them from a local farm--buttered, salted, then fire-roasted.. are you kidding me? I wasn't even that hungry and took half of my burger home, munched it up the day after, and it was like eating an upgraded White Castle burger! Delicious.. anyway, this place is a real hidden gem.. I've had better food and service here compared to well-known restaurants across Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore, etc.... Go check them out!

It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but it still took about 10 minutes for any of the staff to acknowledge us. From there our service was fine, and the staff was nice (but not very knowledgeable). The menu was confusing; there were very few seafood options despite the name "Atomic Seafood". I tried the blackened haddock sandwich. The fish was barely seasoned and overall disappointing. We also tried the wings. The seasonings were all both bad and lacking. The Nashville dry rub wings had a coating of honey. The fries and pickle chips were okay. Overall, it was a disappointing meal and we would not go back. If you're just looking for a bar to enjoy a couple domestic beers during a football game with maybe a side of fries, this is probably a good fit for you. Buckets Bar, down the road, offers a similar atmosphere with better service, pricing, and quality of food.
