The spacious interior is clean and well kept, and the employees went above and beyond with their customer service, We were seated at a booth near the TVs so that was a plus - My boyfriend appreciates the sports bar feel of this place so we can enjoy a meal and he doesn't miss his games. The food lives up to their standards, high quality, fresh and delicious. They fry with organic Fera fruit oil, not seed oils, consciously sourced from Zero Acre Farms. We love their tri-tip sandwiches. All Buck sandwiches are made with 4, 6 or 8 oz. of Certified Angus Beef® Char-Roasted Tri Tip. Served on a perfectly toasted roll, there are several sandwich options to choose from. Meat was not seasoned well and the ratio of meat versus veggies was off; not a good ratio (too much veggies, not enough meat). The lettuce pieces had many that had brown corners, so unable to eat. The restaurant itself is spacious, with a mix of booths, tables, and bar seating. Service was a bit inconsistent, though. We wanted to sit at a booth, but after the previous guests left, the server cleared the dirty dishes and never came back to wipe down the table, so it was still covered in crumbs. I also had a frustrating experience when I asked for one of the plastic to-go containers they keep in the kitchen instead of the paper boxes available in the dining area. Came here for a nice family dinner few Fridays ago. I gotta say I am really impressed with the food quality and taste. We all picked at each other's plates and the consensus was that this is a great place for barbecue. It is not your traditional restaurant where a server comes and takes your order at your table. We rather you order initially when you arrive to the restaurant and your food is delivered to your table. Places like this make it hard for me to give a tip, however it really made up for it when I was approached by the manager or someone that resemble the manager asking how our meal was. I really appreciated that. The environment is also pretty chill with a semi industrial aesthetic tone. And as you enter the checkin area there is well laid out and easy to read menu signs. Love the "do your ordering at the get go", pay, and then relax until your food is delivered. Also a handy/easy concept for groups or anyone not liking to figure out and splitting individual food costs. Food: Delicious! And there was 20 minutes left of happy hour when we came in. Who knew!?! Two of our group ordered from the HH menu and two did not. Beer battered onion rings served with ranch, the Buckhorn Burger and three Char Roasted Tri Tip Sliders all from the HH menu. Walk in, order and they'll give you a number and bring your food right to your table. I ordered the 2 protein combo. Tri tip and chicken, came with 2 sides and a corn bread. The tri tip was delicious with their bbq sauce! Their chicken was good too, juicy! For their sides I picked onion rings and granny apple slaw.. both was delicious! The onion rings were crispy and tasted great with ketchup. The apple slaw was refreshing. I came here for a company lunch. We had a reservation for 22 people and were able to order beforehand. I couldn't get through by the phone and had to come in person. I was able to place all orders, and keep the tab open so we could order drinks the next day. When we came in, they immediately started making the food and bringing it out. I've never been to Buckhorn before so when the food came out, I was surprised by how large the portions were! Much bigger than what is shown on the photos online. Took my husband here for his bday because he wanted some bbq. He had loved his items that he had in the past from the Buckhorn food truck, so I thought this would be a great choice for his bday dinner. Unfortunately, our meals were underwhelming. My husband had ordered medium Tri tip which came out rare and 50% fatty leaving around 3-5 edible bites. The Mac n cheese was tasty though. My son said his ribs were good but not the best he's ever had which is fine. My Chinese chicken salad was also good, which is what I opted for since they didn't have a smoked turkey or chicken option (although they do have bbq chicken bone in). The Bavarian pretzel beer cheese was probably the best out of all of the items we ordered. They also have a nice adult drink menu. The wife came over with some samples of BBQ Sauce to try and I first tested the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce and just to say that since I dont really do Spice (Except every so often) the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce wasnt very spicy and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce was delicious. However when I walked over to get the California Gold BBQ Sauce and I tested that, WHOA!! It immediately hits you in the back of the throat. After waiting for about 4 or 5 minutes the waitress came over with our food. She presented my wife with her Tri-Tip Tacos and then to me with my Pulled Pork Tacos. As soon as I took a bite out of my Pulled Pork Tacos, you could taste the chewiness of the meat because it was so tender. My wife and I then swapped 1 Taco each and after I took a bite out of her Tri-Tip Taco, it then mirrored the same tenderness and taste of the Pulled Pork. It was soft and when I poured the Buckhorn BBQ Sauce on it, it actually added more flavor to the taste of the Tri-Tip the same of my Pulled Pork. I then tried the Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade and while I wasn't a big fan of that I decided to just change to Mango Lemonade which was very good as well. Thank you Buckhorn for such a great experience. Oh yeah, when they brought out the Bavarian Pretzel and the Buckhorns Beer Cheese.. WOW!! The size of the Pretzel caught my eye but it was very good as well. And while we spent a good chunk of change, everything here was very well worth it. The setup is casual--you order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. When we visited it was midday and fairly quiet with just a few other diners. My daughter and I decided to share the Piggie Platter, which comes with ribs, pulled pork, and sausage along with two sides. We chose the broccoli salad and onion rings, and the platter also included jalapeño cheddar cornbread. One thing I appreciated right away was their self-serve BBQ sauce bar with several options so you can mix and match flavors. The sausage was the standout for me--it had a really nice bite and great flavor. The ribs and pulled pork were both tender and even better paired with the spicy BBQ sauce. The broccoli salad was actually a pleasant surprise; I ordered it on a whim and ended up really enjoying it. We used to come here all the time--especially before or after catching a movie. Unfortunately, the service has really gone downhill lately. To be fair, the manager has always been great about correcting mistakes with our orders, which we truly appreciate. But the front counter service has been disappointing. We came in at noon, and the restaurant was nearly empty. Yet the cashier was busy cutting flyers and completely ignored us. No smile, no greeting, no sense of hospitality. When I placed our order, she looked visibly annoyed the entire time--it felt like we were an inconvenience. When you walk in you have two choices, you can order at the counter for food, or order at the bar for food and drinks. Every time I go to the bar area to order food and drinks the service is amazing. One of my friends and I go to Buckhorn for lunch 3 or 4 times a year although I've never done a review for it before. I almost always have the 6oz Tri Tip Buck sandwich with Mac N Cheese and a drink. It's done with caramelized onions and au jus. My friend ordered the same, although only in the 4oz size with a side of Cole slaw. When the order arrived, it was very obvious that my 6oz sandwich was on his tray. That's not the first time it's happened so I was watching out for it. Last time it happened, I did end up paying for the bigger sandwich but eating the smaller of the two. The meat was tender and very flavorful. I usually pick one of their sauces to sprinkle over the top just for fun. Their Mac N Cheese is good, but not my favorite in town. The service is fast and courteous. My husband and I dined here this evening. We were the second couple in line when a man and a woman entered a couple of minutes after us, the woman entered the Online Order section and appeared to read the menu, and then and attempted to cut in front of me when the cashier called us next. The cashier almost acknowledged her before I walked ahead and it made me feel weird. We placed our orders: a krispy chicken avo salad and a bacon & cheese burger with mac & cheese. One thing I'd like to note was we were asked "do you want that pink?" It took us a second to realize the server asked about how my husband liked his burger cooked. I think a more direct question would be just that, "how would you like your burger cooked?" We waited at our table. I noticed the woman who tried to cut the line was served first (her family of 4). What gives? That observation did not sit well with me and made our experience here sub par. My salad was also gross, it tasted like the wrong salad dressing (like a jalapeño flavor?) and it was also overpowered by the huge chunks of blue cheese. It was way too creamy for my liking.
