The Cheesesteak Shop we used to drive to in Roseville closed, to our surprise. So, we gave this little spot in Folsom a try based on its reviews rating and I do see why. We'd tried others and they just didn't pass the tastebud vibe. This one did. Closer to us and fresh. Bread- warm, slight crisp on the outside, soft inside. Not squishy or saturated in oil. Steak- Flavored and soft, covered in melted cheese. It was yellow American and I do prefer white American for the Cheesesteak but not bad. Onions are grilled and chopped, I prefer them to be slightly bigger but that's just me being picky. Bell peppers- this particular sandwich doesn't come with peppers but I asked for them to be added as a preference. I do wish they were sliced and not chopped and that there were more, but again that is personal preference. If I was to have it my way I'd have the sweet pickled peppers instead. Fries- really good. They remind me of the Boardwalk, growing up. Fries are thick cut and very fresh. Hot to touch lets you know they were made once ordered. We would definitely come here again. For most foodie connoisseurs this unassuming hole-in-the-wall would be something most would walk or drive by. However, if you like or love cheesesteak sandwiches, I suggest you give this little spot a try. We popped in for dinner to bring home. The two employees (potential owners) working there were super kind and friendly. When I asked if a sandwich could be made without onions, due to allergies, it was no problem. We got home and the food had tempered a bit, so we popped things quickly into the microwave and things were still yummy. Next time, I would eat there. We've had Philly Cheesesteaks at other places, but this place consistently is really good. Great Philly and Mushroom Cheesesteak (we order it as a combo with a small fry and drink) and this is plenty to share for my husband and myself. We have never really tried any of their other offerings. The owners are a very hardworking couple with the wife manning the register and dispensing orders (with a smile) and the husband making magic at the grill. Friday, 10/11/2024 - Drove by here and saw Cheesesteak & Grill Stop. Address is 1870 Prairie City Rd, Ste 250, Folsom, CA 95630. We decided to stop and try them. Upon arrival... Pros 1) located in a little shopping plaza with Safeway, Nail business, Bambu drinks, etc. 2) large parking lot. Plenty of parking. 3) it was quick and easy to get our food. There was no line. We walked in, ordered, waited about 10 to 15 minutes, got our nice hot food and left. 4) Cheesesteak with teriyaki sauce was great!! The bread was soft. Made it easy to eat. Fries tasted freshly made. 5) restaurant was tiny, buy looked clean. 6) the cashier lady was very nice. Cons 1) wish the kids menu had a little more options. Conclusion Great place. We will definitely go back here again should we be in the area and need a quick grab-and-go. Located in a nice area, they were friendly and professional, service was quick, food made fresh and it was good tasting. If you pass by here, give them a try! Another fantastic Cheesesteak (#8 - no jalapenos) with garlic fries. Seriously the best garlic fries I've had in a very long time. Great service (over the phone). Food is good. We got a Philly cheesesteak with grilled onion. The bread is perfectly toasted. A little crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. The beef is tender and juicy and along with that melty gooey cheese omg so good. I personally like it with some ketchup but you can't go wrong with other sauces too. The place is not big but clean and cozy. A very nice grab a quick bite place. Service is top notch. So many small details and really made us feel comfortable and cared for. Having been here 3x times now I think it's time for a review. This place is located in a busy plaza that includes a Safeway. The business isn't the biggest. But inside there is plenty of seating. I didn't notice any TV's to watch the game. None the less plenty of space. I ordered the mushroom cheese steak a few times. It's my favorite right now. So tasty. The steak is cut very thin. Just how you'd want it in a cheese steak. The one thing I'm very picky about with my sandwiches is the softness of the bread. And the bread they use is nice and soft. Delicious. My wife and I always order fries. The portions of fries you get is huge and can be easily shared with someone. The last time we decided to try the fried mushrooms. They were delicious. We'll be getting that everytime now. One thing I would say is the size of the steaks. The regular size isn't very big so I now order the large size. It's just something to be aware of. Place is a small mom & pops shop and appears basic upon entrance, but dont be fooled, the food and customer service is amazing. Place can get pretty packed during lunchtime so be prepared to wait a bit for your food to come out, but it is worth the wait. Came in as a group of 4 and we were still able to find seating, but I did notice many people did take out orders, so I suppose seating isnt always a problem. The large size was not that big like other sandwich shops but it sure hit the spot. It was so good, the stars elevated up. A good take out place, the indoor seating is limited. The interior of the store needs a good do over with some care put into it. It is a small place, but with a little sprucing up it could be comfortable and more inviting. As is, there is a minimal feel attention is given to walls and overall ambience for those that are staying to enjoy the good food.
