We came here after walking at Waterfall Glen - it's about a 15 min drive. 3 of us got a flight. I always get flights at breweries and usually there's at least one I don't like that much. But I thoroughly enjoyed all of my beers - a Pilsner, a Mexican lager, a German hefe, and the cherry seltzer. My friend got a hazy IPA that was one of the best I've had (I generally don't like IPAs). They don't offer much food - some chips, a baked pretzel, and maybe pizza? We weren't going to eat but that's just a heads up. The lady bartending was friendly and even gave us a coupon for a free drink the next time we came! It is a smaller space but it has a nice outdoor space with picnic tables. They do not allow dogs, inside or outside, so if you have a dog, leave it at home. My friends bought some cans to bring home. I would come back if I'm in this area again!

BuckleDown is a good find in Lyons. It doesn't look like much but it exceeds expectations with the beer and food menu. Get a good variety of beers at this small brewery. Has flights available if it's hard to choose. There's also snacks to munch on like pretzels. Another brewery with an interesting location, not near a lot of much else. It's a small place but it still manages to have a variety of beers to choose from. There's a few that are always here as well as seasonal specials. It's about $5 a pint. Pretty affordable for a craft brewery like this. Last time I got the Cactus Pants, a Mexican lager. Pretty appropriate choice because there's lots of Mexican businesses in town. As for the food, a small amount. It's $7 for a soft pretzel. Also they make their own beer cheese. They also let you bring in stuff. Gets mostly locals because it's not easy to find. It's on 47th close to Ogden. There's also a patio which helps with the crowding inside when there's good enough weather.

Love buckle down beers. Co-owner lives in my village and offers a lot to the local schools. Bar is great. Usually have a food truck or you can bring your own. Always a line for beer but it's a popular place. Industrial decor gives it a nice feel.

My girl and I came here because it's 9 minutes away from her home, we met Michelle. She was super kind and bc of her we ended becoming mug Club members. Excellent service and beer. The pizza is ok and the merch is cool but can be a bit pricy. Overall highly enjoyable ambiance with live music, pinball, clean bathrooms, and a kind staff. Must visit for sure

Great selection of beers on Tap super friendly.... It's dog friendly and kid friendly and has both indoor and outdoor seating. It goes old school with Ms Pacman video game and a pinball machine

Lots of refreshing options! I got a flight with some fruity options and loved them all. Service was great, the bartender was incredibly accommodating and nice. Literally the only reason I took off a star is because no AC was on, and it was quite warm in there, but if that doesn't bug you, 5 stars for sure. Will be back for more!

I just enjoyed a wonderful morning of outdoor yoga with Stephanie from Back to Nature Fitness https://www.facebook.com/backtonaturefitness/ and a few great beers on the patio. The yoga started at 10:30am, and was well balanced but not too easy. The rye ipa was unfiltered and with just enough hip character. The hazy ipa was bright and refreshing. I could not recommend this total experience more. There is not a better way to start a Sunday.

ALES IN COMPARISON…read more The bar formerly known as Brixie's is still a solid place to enjoy a beer. I can't recall exactly how many times I'd given the previous tenant my business over the years, though it has to have been in the dozens. I loved their vibe which could be described as relaxed at best (and dingy at worst), and though the kitchen was no great shakes I appreciated specials on their burgers and pints. Fast forward to 2022, and this place is now exclusively a brewery under the name Imperial Oak. They've also got a location on Archer Ave that I've been to several times. Funny enough, both have 2+ pinball tables and tiny parking lots, however this location on Ogden Ave is much more accessible than the Imperial Oak in Willow Springs. Speaking of pins, their two machines (Simpsons Pinball Party & a retooled Medieval Madness) are $1/game and play beautifully. They've got shuffleboard and some events throughout the month like weekly bingo & trivia. They don't have a kitchen, but sometimes a foodtruck comes in and you can always B.Y.O.F. Bartenders are easygoing; if you aren't feeling an IPA or barrel stout they also have hard seltzers as well as a full bar. The crowd is predominantly locals and after-work peeps. If you can't find a space in their lot, try the angled spots at the Sherwin-Williams next door (just be discreet). * TL;DR * A couple brews, a couple score-based replays on pinball, life is A-OK. Back when this place was Brixie's, it was much quieter and business seemed slow, but I liked it. These days, it's usually bustling with activity whenever I stop by, and that's great news for Imperial Oak. Beer is reasonably priced (Buzz Lite is a delightful honeyweiss for $6/pint) and the taps are varied. I'm switching jobs in the next few weeks, so the odds of me coming through here again are slim but I'll always keep them in mind should I find myself in the Brookfield area. I'd recommend Imperial Oak, for sure.

There's no noisy music or TVs, making you pay more attention to the beers and other drink options. A small place but it still has lots of beers to choose from. It's a pretty nice looking place and there's not a whole lot of room. This place usually isn't that busy though. Mostly because it's not as well known. We came in and tried some beers and snacks. It's about $7 for a pint. That's not bad for a small craft brewery like this. Best one was the Baltic Porter. This had coffee and dark chocolate aromas, with fig and raisin notes, and it was quite strong. A heavy beer at 9.8% ABV. There's bar snacks like cashews at $4 a bag or like that. Come here if looking for a brewery that puts focus on beers and not games. If looking for a brewery where the main thing is beers, this is it. There's only a few snacks but you can bring food in or get it delivered or whatever.

Everything seemed to have improved from our visit here a week ago, but that's because Michelle was not there. We had zero issues with the staff that day, we were served without issue, and overall we thought the renovations were an improvement.
