I have enjoyed BD since it's opened and it's special events. First, the beer is excellent and they always shake it up with new releases to keep things interesting. Second, this spot is about drinking and enjoying beer, it's not a sports bar, it's no frills, listen to some music, have a conversation, and maybe play a board game. The one thing that does bother me is that it is too family friendly for my taste. I have been there on many occasions where parents bring their 6-12 year olds on a Saturday night after 8pm. I don't enjoy kids screaming, having melt downs, while I'm having a good time with friends. BD, maybe cutoff having kids in your brewery after 6 or 7PM? Otherwise I recommend this gem! read more

BuckleDown is such a fun, laid-back spot. Their beer is always solid, and they throw one of the best anniversary events around, it's something I look forward to every year. Incredible every time! I've come a few times and every time is amazing! I loved the Grapefruit Fest. It was great! Food available and 50/50 offered. We tried different bourbon cocktails and they were bothl amazing. Such a fun evening. We come with our 9 and 11 year old girls and they have a blast. We came here after walking at Waterfall Glen - it's about a 15 min drive. 3 of us got a flight. I always get flights at breweries and usually there's at least one I don't like that much. But I thoroughly enjoyed all of my beers - a Pilsner, a Mexican lager, a German hefe, and the cherry seltzer. My friend got a hazy IPA that was one of the best I've had (I generally don't like IPAs). They don't offer much food - some chips, a baked pretzel, and maybe pizza? We weren't going to eat but that's just a heads up. The lady bartending was friendly and even gave us a coupon for a free drink the next time we came! It is a smaller space but it has a nice outdoor space with picnic tables. They do not allow dogs, inside or outside, so if you have a dog, leave it at home. My friends bought some cans to bring home. I would come back if I'm in this area again! read more

BuckleDown is a good find in Lyons. It doesn't look like much but it exceeds expectations with the beer and food menu. Get a good variety of beers at this small brewery. Has flights available if it's hard to choose. There's also snacks to munch on like pretzels. Another brewery with an interesting location, not near a lot of much else. It's a small place but it still manages to have a variety of beers to choose from. There's a few that are always here as well as seasonal specials. It's about $5 a pint. Pretty affordable for a craft brewery like this. Last time I got the Cactus Pants, a Mexican lager. Pretty appropriate choice because there's lots of Mexican businesses in town. As for the food, a small amount. It's $7 for a soft pretzel. Also they make their own beer cheese. They also let you bring in stuff. Gets mostly locals because it's not easy to find. It's on 47th close to Ogden. There's also a patio which helps with the crowding inside when there's good enough weather. read more

I was actually quite impressed by this place. This looks like the nice little brewery you'd expect to see popping up. While the place is a bit on the smaller side, their beers are all quite good. I like the Heff and the IPA. The rest of my group greatly enjoyed our time there. There are also a few arcade games and board games. The only "downside" is that some of the locals are a little quirky. It looks like alot of locals come here (which is great) and they do a bit of local charity work every month which is amiable. Still, the bartender was an absolute rockstar and if I am in the area, I will be stopping by here. She was the real deal! This place is the real deal! read more

If you don't mind drinking beer while kids run around everywhere making a mess...then this is the taproom/daycare for you. I love their beer...but three out of four of the times I've visited the taproom to enjoy adult beverages...it has has been anything but an adult experience. I want to give an update as within recent past I feel this brewery has changed, particularly with their customer service. I noticed the staff has become more hostile and less patient with customers which isn't a great look to new customers. They've also changed their policy and no longer allow pets which is a big setback as this was one of the reasons I really enjoyed coming here. We didn't know of their new policy and were very rudely yelled at and scolded by their bartender despite us politely saying we didn't know of the change. The place is quite small despite the patio being open so it might be hard to get a spot on busy days (same goes with parking). The customers are pretty cool. Beers have stayed the same, but would really like to see some new product. read more

This bar is pretty great, it's just too crowded for its own good. Went with friends for live music and it was absolutely packed. The guitarist was great, the beer I tasted all was really good, the food smelled and looked amazing, and I appreciate the partnerships they have with local restaurants. The mug program they have seems so cool, I just don't go out enough to make it worth it. They are dog friendly and I loved seeing so many everywhere. Kid-friendly also, which was a bit interesting. I was skeptical at first for so many kids being there but they didn't pose any problems. They did take up a lot of space though, and weren't really partaking in anything beyond maybe sodas. In any case, I was still pleasantly surprised about this place, and I am going to try and make it back here, hopefully not during the busy time. Maybe someday they can expand their outdoor seating to help alleviate this issue. read more

The yoga started at 10:30am, and was well balanced but not too easy. The rye ipa was unfiltered and with just enough hip character. The hazy ipa was bright and refreshing. Use to love this place. I understand their recent no dog policy, but it was unfortunate to see it inconsistently applied. We were informed of their recent no dog policy as we came in but assumed they were okay on the patio as there was another larger dog there. It's definitely a dog friendly establishment, so we were able to see a few friendly dogs playing inside. In addition to good beer, there are board games available for people to play with while they sip. They offer flights of 4 beers for the reasonable price of $8, and have cold cans ready to go as well. Neve had any problems here until recently... I've been here a few times with my partner and friends, everything is usually good here. Last time, however, my partner and I came here, he ordered a beer and I decided to just have water. We walked to the patio and a bartender chased us outside and yelled at us that we couldn't go to the parking lot, even though we were headed to the patio. So we went back inside feeling embarrassed. Eventually we sat at a table and that same bartender stared at me the entire time. It was to the point where I was extremely uncomfortable and my partner quickly finished his beer and we left. If he was concerned I was underage or something he could have asked for my ID(I'm 27) or notice that I wasn't drinking anything but water. I never want to go back. I don't know who that bartender is or what his name is but he is very ignorant and seems to enjoy making people feel uncomfortable and embarrass them...sad considering we gave a lot of business in the past.. read more

As far as microbrewery taprooms go, it's pretty standard stuff - friendly bartender, beer, places to sit and drink the beer, fellow craft beer lovers. Complimentary cheddar Goldfish crackers is a nice touch. I'd give 4 stars for the taproom - a TV or two to occupy my attention when I'm there alone would be nice, but my phone can keep me occupied as well. And the music can get a bit loud for my tastes (but I'm a wimp like that). The beer puts this place into 5 star territory because it's fantastic. I'm a craft beer geek and I've tried hundreds of different beers, and the beer here is excellent. So far I've tried all of them, and Painted Turtle is the only one I wasn't fond of. Stompbox (stout) and Clencher (double IPA) are exceptional. read more

I went on opening day and really liked it. There is a bar to sit at, a few tables, an open area (maybe for bands or something at some point) and a nice ledge with viewing into the brewing area. The tables are by the door and every time someone came in it was a bit chilly (Ike did come by and tell us he knew it was cold, and that they were still working on perfecting the heating situation). It is a little bare, but still feels welcoming. Oh, and for the guys washroom at least, I liked the big trough-like sink. I only hope to never experience walking in on any customers using it in any other way than to wash their hands. ;) They offered three beers (Belt & Suspenders, Shady Aftermath, and Mirth). I tried each and suggest you try them as well. I found them all enjoyable and fully plan to have them all again. This isn't a beer blog or review site for that so I'm not about to really delve into that, but if you like beer, and the style they offer, you will be pleased. I feel like this place has a lot of potential and in all honesty I'm pretty excited about it. Like I mentioned, Ike, the head brewer, came by. Besides addressing the heat he asked us how we liked everything. He told us a little bit about how things are coming along and what to expect in the future. He seemed like a real cool guy, and I hope even as they get bigger and more popular he still takes time to work the room a bit. Like beer? Need a place to hang out? Come here, grab a pint, believe me when I say this is where it's at in suburbia. I've been here a few times and tried most of the menu. The Citra Clencher IPA, Shady Aftermath Stout and Belt and Suspenders IPA are worth getting a growler if the taproom isn't your scene. My sister called it "Standard taphouse rustic chic." Yellow metal barstools, exposed bulb chandeliers, expansive ceilings and lots of Pinterest-worthy pallet covered walls. The crowd is laid back and because this place doesn't serve food, you're free to have whatever delivered or bring it in. I'd love to see this place have guest taps, live entertainment or at least a sound system. And outdoor seating would be fab! read more

If I could give them 10 stars I would. By far my favorite local brewery. There are almost always 15 different ales on tap, beers to go and I can call in advance to get kegs ready for pick up pretty quick. The owners and staff are awesome, friendly people and so is everyone I've met while visiting the brewery. I wish I lived closer to visit more often. They don't have a kitchen but on occasion they've had food trucks, pop up kitchens and you can always order Uber Eats and have it delivered. The brewery is dog and kid friendly which is great and very inclusive for everyone. So many varieties of beer everyone is sure to find something they like. I like them all. read more

I haven't been to a cool little microbrew in some time. I think I found a great new little hangout in buckledown brewery. The brewery is in what looks like an old manufacturing or auto garage type facility. The retail side is very clean and simple while the backside of the building houses the brew equipment. You can tell the gang here takes pride in the cleanliness and appearance of their business. There were three of us and we all tried a different beer. I had the stout and I was very impressed. Poured with between a 1/4 and 1/2 inch head in a goblet. It had a nice rich flavor with an almost mild spicy and nutty undertone. The consensus was that everyone seemed to really enjoy there beer and the overall vibe. It was a very laid back atmosphere and everyone in the joint seemed really happy. Before we finished our first beers we had already made the decision that we would be back soon. read more
