Great beers. Came here after visiting a nearby botanical garden, I grabbed a flight and it was…read morepretty easy. The flight was around $9 if I recall, which is probably one of the cheapest you can get anywhere. My favorite was the hazy ipa. The nitro pour was good but too smooth, felt like no carbonation whatsoever. The server was super friendly, allowed us to grab a pizza nearby. Great ambiance. Perhaps seating up to 30-35.

Good hard to find small brewery. It's located a bit away from the main parts of Oak Park…read more Kinslahger is located on the south side of town on Roosevelt. A quiet atmosphere. There's no noisy music or TVs, making you pay more attention to the beers and other drink options. A small place but it still has lots of beers to choose from. It's a pretty nice looking place and there's not a whole lot of room. This place usually isn't that busy though. Mostly because it's not as well known. We came in and tried some beers and snacks. It's about $7 for a pint. That's not bad for a small craft brewery like this. Best one was the Baltic Porter. This had coffee and dark chocolate aromas, with fig and raisin notes, and it was quite strong. A heavy beer at 9.8% ABV. There's bar snacks like cashews at $4 a bag or like that. Come here if looking for a brewery that puts focus on beers and not games. If looking for a brewery where the main thing is beers, this is it. There's only a few snacks but you can bring food in or get it delivered or whatever.

Coopers hawk for brunch... who knew this place got so packed! Went for brunch with a girlfriend…read morearound noon. Ordered the plate of Gnocchi with roasted butternut squash and Chicken Madeira, both the lunch size entrees. The waitress knew we were going to split the meals in half so she brought the meals out separately and in two separate plates. Doing so gave us time to savor each meal on its own and not have to try and divvy it up ourselves. I loved it. The food was phenomenal! We also had the bacon wrapped shrimp for an appetizer and that did not last long on the plate. Upon leaving we were trying to buy a couple bottles of wine. We tried getting the attention of the staff, yet were told they were busy. We waiting a good 10mins and still didn't get any help. I'm not sure why they were so short staffed for a busy afternoon, they could literally have 1 or 2 people at a register just for takeout wine orders. Or, suggestion, before we leave our table, we put the order in and they have it ready at the register for us to pay on our way out. Either way we walked out of there without wine. This place is big enough to accommodate alot of people and there is a parking garage just behind it, which makes it very convenient.

Party of four, a Sunday evening. We tried a variety of offerings. Because Yelp doesn't breakdown…read morespecific ratings, let me do it: Service: *** Food: **** Overall impression: Barely **** There is a small warning at the end. I had their grilled salmon. It had a base of pureed butternut squash, a different temperature than the salmon, and the roasted/salted kale underneath, also served with pickled onion. It was fine. We had a small loaf of their bread as an appetizer, served with a goat cheese and a red pepper sauce (perfect spicing), also deemed very good. The hummus plate was also good. My partner had their eggplant dish, which she said was fine, not amazing, but good. Each of us, save me, had a drink (except me, the designated driver) of alcohol or wine. Also good to very good. I had their coffee, which (an Americano) was quite good. For a side, we tried their mac & cheese, which is mac and another pasta and cheese with panko, strangely delicious. I say strangely, because it looked pretty standard but the flavorings were good, and it retained its heat. This ran about $60ea (incl wine or liquor + coffee). Oddly, after decent beignets, I looked at the tab to find that a 3% surcharge had been added. I asked, Why? It was immediately withdrawn without explanation. I would recommend viewing their menu online to see if it fits with your budget and dietary desires. There are vegetarian entrees, and meat options (including an Amish Chicken half, which was rated good) that might suit you. It's good food. It is not totally amazing or exemplary, so no five stars. Would we go back? Maybe. Watch your bill carefully.
