We loved the food before but we quickly realized at this visit: something was different. The food is even BETTER. The wedge salad was extremely fresh, coated with a delicious dressing and the perfect amount of bacon bits. The Buckley's Burger was FANTASTIC & cooked exactly as requested. Being a frequent visitor at Buckley's, I'm always impressed by the food and the bartenders. I'm not one to often order off the specials menu, but I had to try the prime rib. Worst place ever. I had the unfortunate experience of going to the bar and trying to have a nice night getting drunk with my husband when the bartender actually ruined the whole night for us. The service was horrible, the ambiance? Even worse. I ordered a bowl of chips, there was hair in it. I especially cannot stress how passive aggressive the bartender was with the dirty looks every time we wanted a drink. Horrible experience. 0/10. We have had everything from dinner salads, burgers, chicken pot pie, steak, and more. They are always perfectly cooked and the presentation is second to none. Came here on a Friday night with my mom and even during off season, almost every table was packed. We were hoping to just grab a seat at the bar, but there were sports happening, so we grabbed one of the last tables in the corner. This felt like one of those places where you should be drinking a beer, and after listening to the extensive tap list I decided to go with a Peroni to keep things light and make room for everything that looked so good on the menu. I tried their award winning New England Clam Chowder which features small bits of bacon, and it might be one of the best chowders I've had out here. Their baked clams en casserole appetizer is an inventive take on bake clams, skipping the clam shells completely and allowing you to dig right in to the clam and bread crumb mixture. I think this would be delicious served as a dip with some crackers or crusty bread. My mom's French onion soup was also cheesy and perfectly well done. I saw so many reviews about their chicken pot pie that I had to give it a try and was so happy that I did. This thing is huge, but came out piping hot with an incredibly crispy, flaky crust. My mom's burger special featured a blend of three different ground meats and came out cooked the perfect medium rare temperature. Even the fries here are bomb. Friendly service, casual atmosphere, great food at decent prices. All things that are usually hard to find out in the Hamptons - this place has it all! read more

The servers were great. I ordered a steak, medium rare and with every bite it was like shoe leather. After three or four bites I gave up and just concentrated on the Caesar salad, which was absolutely delicious.. Would I ever order a steak from them again, no. Would I ever go back, yes. I also did tell the server that the steak was inedible and she apologized and took it away but nothing was taken off the bill. Mind you, this was a $40 steak. read more

Hello all my readers. Buckleys is my favorite go to place in Hampton bays, as the title says! We're must come here at least 4 times a month. We enjoy the happy hour for their beer and wine prices but there is more to it. Buckley's has an awesome selection of foods so I will give you a quick rundown. For apps, their niches are awesome, corn fritters yum, muzzy sticks delicious and their clam dish, with no shell just hits the spot. The onion soup, oh boy, the best served in crock hot and covered with melted cheese!! Over our many times coming ti Buckley's, the staff is amazing as well. We tend to order the meatloaf mountain, meatloaf stacked with mashed potatoes and onion rings, the chicken pot pie is a must in its hot dish and puff pastry, we live the burgers, especially the Conner burger with cheese, bacon, mushrooms and onions. Their steak sandwich is a must, a whole steak on garlic bread!!! The specials are great too, surf and turf with steak and shrimp, broiled seafood platter, salmon which are all great. Came here during the week but it was pretty crowded for a Monday which shocked me. Seemed like it's a very local bar and it had a great home-feel to it. It took us a little bit to get our waitress but when she finally came over we ordered our drinks and meal. Both took forever to come and the table next to us were complaining about service. When the order finally arrived, it was worth the wait! My chicken fingers and fries were delicious. Very hard to find steak fries for whatever reason these days. My fiancé ordered the bangers. His first time trying it, but really loved it. This restaurant is out of the way for sure, but I'd definitely try it if in the area again. read more

Nice, low-key place. Came here on a Wednesday night after work & it was pretty relaxed inside. Beer selection is good, food was tasty, music comes from Pandora played by bartender . The music isn't intrusive so you can enjoy conversation with whomever you're with without having to yell at one another. This is a great bar to chill and enjoy a good meal with friends. The food is great, the drinks are strong and the owner is amazingly friendly. Food is simple comfort fair, reliable pub grub at good prices. Good, old-fashioned home cooking had the shepherds pie just tasted something like a mother would make nice portion very reasonably priced highly recommend the food. My wife had a burger that reminded me of someplace I was when I was younger called the flame in Brooklyn. We were out in the West Hampton unfortunately for a memorial service which was down the block. I'm glad we found Buckley. We will return, just because we can and we love the food. A stand by staple neighborhood place where locals and visitors to the area alike can enjoy a solid hot meal or hang at the large bar area with a cold one and bar bites to the wee hours of the night. This night we decided to sit and enjoy an early dinner. The menu is pretty expansive and each dish all sounded very appetizing. On order tonight were their corn fritters, fried mushrooms, curry fries, and a shared french dip sandwich. Everything was very good, well presented and abundant! Staff was really nice and accomodating and informed us that the kitchen usually stays open sometimes even after midnight for bar bites if there seems to be a good flow of customers there. I like that McD's is not the only option left for a late night food craving in HB! Will def be back again! read more

I'd give this place a 5 ... because that was the best burger and steak fries I've had in a long time, maybe ever. However, after a visit to the men's room, I told the lady tending bar that I'd gotten the last of the handsoap in the men's room. She said, "ok, okay". Don't believe what you see on the internet. Went with my family during happy hour only to find out that drink specials were only available if sitting at the bar. On Tuesday they advertise 1/2 price on a second entree. When we received our bill and questioned what we were charged we were told that they discontinued all of the advertised specials during the pandemic but didn't update that information on the internet. PS - don't order their famous "Shepherds Pie" - not good! read more

I'm very disappointed that I'm posting how horrible the cleanliness of this place was tonight. The silverware was dirty the plates on table were greasy the glasses were probably not washed but quick rinse. This has nothing to do with the waitstaff that was running around. This is kitchen cleaning not done well. Had a chicken pot pie that was very good When leaving went to use the restroom was filthy and certainly not updated since they probably got money during COVID because the rust in sink and garbage pail is worse than I have in my garage. We've been coming here for many many years with our family. Always had a good experience and food was always good. Tonight was a different story, 100% because of the service. Our waitress, Julia, had an attitude from the start. We felt rushed the whole time and she was just very pleasant since the moment we sat down. Luckily, the food was good but she just ruined the whole experience. We took our mom out to dinner after not seeing her for a month and we were just disappointed to have this level of service. This used to be our go to place to eat. Been coming here for 20 years but our last visit in late September convinced us never to come back. We arrived at 5:30 for dinner and waited for 20 minutes for someone to seat us. The restaurant part was empty although the bar area was crowded because of Happy Hour. The lady that seated us had no idea what the time was, she said she was busy on the computer and dinner started at 5pm. I told her it was 5:30 and asked if they were even serving dinner. She said yes, seated us and then we waited...and waited and waited. 20 minutes went by and not one person came to take our order. A waitress was standing by the bar area and saw us sitting, she made no attempt to wait on us. My husband and I walked out. This place hit all three on the nose. Let's start with beer. I am from Cali and live in NYC where I can't find Fat Tire Beer anywhere so imagine my surprise that it was the first thing I saw when I walked in. Then we ordered baked clams, which at first I was skeptical when I saw them because it comes as a bake without the shells but my taste buds rejoiced. They bake great big clams in cheese bacon and bread and it's to die for. We also had French fries with gravy, gravy is delicious. And that was just our starters. For entrees, I had the prime rib dinner which was great and my husband had the meatloaf. He said it was the best he's ever had (besides his moms of course). We went to Buckley's for lunch. We were seated quickly. My grandson (age 8) was given a kids menu and crayons. Our server, Michaela, was friendly and attentive. She took our drink and food order promptly. The appetizers came out quickly. We ordered the Buffalo chicken wings, onion rings and soup. The portions were very generous and the food was hot and delicious. Same with our entrees. Michaela checked on us several times and refilled our drinks. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The women's restroom was spotless. We will definitely go back to Buckley's. read more

I wasn't expecting much..... this is Hampton Bays.....it was a pub/family restaurant. BUT This food was amazing! My friend ordered the onion soup which she claimed was completely delish! We both ordered the swordfish. O...M...G. This was unbelievable. Was cooked to perfection and was served with a side of wasabi something or other. The indifferent service and lack of customer service will keep me from returning. My in laws live locally and were excited to take us out for a dinner at Buckley's. When we arrived on a Friday night, the bar was somewhat busy, but the dining room was mostly empty. My in laws asked to be seated at a six top table in the middle of the empty dining room and the hostess stated no she could only seat us at a 4 top. Great welcome. Now, if the place had been packing them in, I can understand not seating a smaller party at a bigger table. We then had to wait for 10 min or so for one of the 4 tops to be cleaned. There was no one sitting at the table from the time we arrived, the staff just hadn't bussed and reset the table. The three six tops remained empty from the time we arrived until we left. Way to accommodate your customers! We went to order and my mother in law is not a big eater and is limited to what she likes to eat. She asked for a BLT and was flatly told no by the waitress. The waitress then said "the chef doesn't make sandwiches for dinner" despite the fact that more than half of the dinner menu is burgers, chicken SANDWICHES and steak SANDWICHES. Now, judging by the quality of food and the basic nature of the menu, I think calling the guy cooking a "chef" is a bit of a stretch. I find it difficult to believe that the culinary genius in the kitchen couldn't slap together some bread, bacon lettuce and tomato to accommodate my mother in law. The staffs complete indifference to the customers here will be the downfall of what is, at best, a mediocre Irish pub. read more

This resturant offers both classic American, and classic Irish dishes. The food is great and also comes in pretty large portions! They also have weekly specials on certain non menu, and menu items so be sure to check their website or call before going.
