    Chicken Mauricio
    Manny B.

A culinary institution in the Hampton Bays. My go to place for consistently great Italian fare. The food is always fresh and hot. The chicken Mauricio is my fave- don't know who he is but it's a tasty dish! Never a bad meal here.

We had another great dining event at V P. Last bought (2/13/21). We were greeted with a smile by the manager upon arrival and were taken to a lovely table in the corner of the dining room. The crowd was a nice side, but the tables spaced out very well. Social distancing and staff with masks and gloves were evident. Our waiter Miguel and busperson Saoulda (I hope I got the spelling correct) took extremely great care of our table. Saoulda made sure that the bread and butter stayed full and the table ckean. Miguel started us off with drinks, espresso martinis, beer all were perfect. We ordered our appetizers (fried calamari and a seafood mac n cheese with shrimp, dinner portion). The appetizers were delicious. The fried calamari were light and tender with a side of tomatoe sauce for dipping. The mac n cheese was a big hit too, nice and creamy with an aldente texture with a crispness from baking. (My mouth's watering) For dinner, we ordered chicken florentine, ravioli, and 2 roast ducks. The roast duck was a beautiful portion, the skin was a nice crispness, the meat very moist and tender, full of flavor topped with a nice cherry and wine (best guess) reduction. The duck , as always at Villa Paul, was perfect. The chicken was delicious as well as the ravioli. Dessert was also amazing, I do not remember what was ordered, I know a toasted almond joy dessert was ordered and delicious, I had a single shot espresso. All in all, dinner, nor the service has ever failed us at V.P. It is always a nice treat to go to and we should go more often. Total cost for dinner was $245 for 4. Tip was extra and I am generous :) !

    Peanut Brickle Cheesecake! Awesome

Villa Paul is the best and perhaps last of Nassau County's "Fine Dining" restaurants. It is actually NOT an Italian restaurant, in the traditional sense, which is a good thing. Rather, Villa Paul is a very fine, "Continental" restaurant. Sort of a survey course of European Culinary Traditions, mostly French and Italian, tweaked to American tastes. They've been doing it for over 50 years and Nobody, does it better. Their Roasted Long Island Duck, served stuffed, crisp and with homemade Cherry Sauce is a standout and worth a trip on its own. Their seafood, locsl Flounder etc is clearly well sourced. The service is professional "Old School" To top it all off, they bring you amazing desserts like the famous Peanut Brickle Cheese Cake and Classics like amazing tartuffo, pistachio mousse and Creme Brulee, etc. The prices are not cheap but compared to NYC, where I'm from, are an absolute bargain given the quality, and service. Bonus: the wine list offers extremely well priced bottle options and top notch reds and whites at $12/glass! If you are a "Lawn Guyland" mook in a Jets jersey who does not own a sport coat, a shrill loud pretentious "real Housewife of da Hamtinz"type or someone more accustomed to $8 Groupon buffets in Flushing ( and dress the part) perhaps this is not your place. If however you are seeking the last of the old school South Fork Fine Dining American Bounty Establishments, get dressed up, head to Villa Paul and Enjoy!

It has a nice vibe and is not too crowded if you sit at a table. The night we went, the bar was packed so I am glad we were given the option of a table or booth. Once we were settled in the booth, water arrived at the table and our drink orders were taken by our waitress who was very nice and personable. My brother got a beer and I decided on the Edgewater espresso martini, which was really good. We placed our happy hour food choices when she returned-my brother opted for the wings and I got the shrimp and ,mushroom risotto. The food arrived quickly and was hot. Both our meals were delicious. The risotto was covered with shaved parmesan cheese and was very tasty. I would recommend and will be returning.

Came here on a Thursday night and was able to grab two seats at the bar. I started off with a cosmo which was made perfectly, served in an insulated martini glass to keep it nice and cold. For starters we had the charbroiled oysters which were unlike any oyster dish I've ever had. Topped with garlic, parmesan and sriracha, the sauce that comes off of these bad boys gets soaked up with the focaccia its served with. Honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. We also had fried calamari which was solid. For mains, I had the veal Milanese which was perfectly cooked. Crispy, topped with fresh tomatoes and arugula plus shaved parmesan. My brother had the lobster pasta which I tried and was out of this world. The shitake mushrooms in this dish really add a depth of flavor you don't normally find in a lobster pasta. I haven't stopped thinking about those oysters and will absolutely be back. Everything in the Hamptons is expensive, but this place is where you want to spend your money.

It was a little difficult to find since there are no street signs in the area and the restaurant is kind of hidden behind some large bushes. We finally found it. The parking lot is very small and as a result, they have instituted valet parking. They have done away with paper tickets and you have to use a QR code. When you are getting ready to leave, you can contact the valets and they can have your car ready for you when you come out. We entered the restaurant after squaring away the car and it was early so there was no problem being seated. It is a very pleasant looking space, on the water with seating indoors and outside. It is a great place to watch the sun set over the water. David B..was our server and after setting us up with some water, he took out drink orders [a Corona beer and a Negroni] We began looking over the menu. It is not a vast menu and each food group [meat, seafood, etc.] has limited choices. The appetizer listings have several more options. Wine list is impressive and is by the glass or bottle along with a list of specialty cocktails. . Our drinks arrived and we gave David B. our food order. My friend to the spicy shrimp rigatoni and I ordered the salmon. Our food arrived shortly after. Both meals were delicious. The spicy rigatoni can be made according to your heat level. The salmon was sitting on a bed of 3 boiled potatoes, olives, capers, cherry tomatoes and mashed potatoes with a sprig of rosemary and was cooked to perfection. It flaked away very nicely. My friend got another Corona and I continued to drink the water provided after my Negroni. In terms of caveats, it is pricey [food and drinks] and although we were there for happy hour, there is no per se happy hour menu that we were made away of. It is a large place, clean with more than adequate staffing. I did not use the restroom while I was there so I cannot comment on how well it was maintained. David our waiter, was attentive and accommodating, checking on us periodically to see if we needed anything else. Our table wobbled a bit and they sent someone over the take care of it for us. I would recommend but as the summer season continues-reservations.

Unfortunately, this was a bad experience from start to finish…read more We made a reservation weeks in advance and were told the lawn was first come first serve. We got there when no one else was there, and were told we weren't allowed in the lawn. They were saving it for bigger parties. (This was literally the reason we went) We sat on the deck which was pretty banged up looking. Had to get up out of my seat and go find a waiter to take our drink order. He told me he wasn't allowed to put in an appetizer but he would "do me a favor." The service was slow. And we asked about the Aperol Spritz even that was advertised on Instagram to be happening...and it wasn't and he didn't know about it. We ordered the most expensive things on the menu for meals, and a few drinks. When we went to order another drink after dinner - Our waiter told us no, and that we need to give up the table and go to the lawn. The same lawn, I wasn't allowed on when I got there! When I asked for the manager - he told us no. And went to grab our bill but I said we didn't pay it yet and he threw it on the table and stormed away. Eventually someone else got the manager for us. Her name was Faye. She was unapologetic about the situation and said we were now allowed to have the drinks we asked for, because she had to put people at a different table because we were still sitting. Meanwhile, we were continuously ordering and many tables were open. Everyone was incredibly rude except for the waiter that was training. In the end - the valet (that I didn't want to use in the first place), flew up with my car and ran out. Come to see when I got in, that my tire alert was on and something had been run over while the valet was driving. My tires are $350 just to order. I wasn't happy. You should have to valet because they're certainly not taking responsibility for what happens when they're driving your car. Don't go here. Food is subpar. Everyone says it.

The first part of our dinner was one of the strangest experiences I've had in a restaurant…read more We sat down near a chalkboard with the day's specials and looked at the menu, which included another page of specials as well as a long list of pasta dishes and proteins. Our server came over and told us that two of the items on the chalkboard - including one we had planned to order - had been sold out already. This was at 6 pm on a weekend night. So we went back to looking at the menu. Within seconds, our server showed up again - the steak had been 86ed. We went back to looking at the menu. Our server returned to our table a couple of minutes later and told us how he liked to rank the restaurant's dishes, then telling us about his top three in minute detail. We were pretty sure what we wanted at this point. But our server came back one more time to tell us that the salad from the specials menu - again, a dish we planned to order - was gone. At this point I began to wonder if we would be allowed to pick our own food for the meal. Anyway, we settled on another dish and beckoned our server over for his fourth (and first invited) visit to our table. We ordered. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. The pasta and pizza were good, the salad dressed with something a bit too acidic. We ate, paid, and left, still somewhat in disbelief. Maybe if this place had fewer items on the menu, they'd be able to stock more ingredients for each one. As things stand, it's a rather frustrating venue (albeit one with a clearly devoted following). P.S. The noise level in the restaurant is high - we were practically shouting to hear each other at various points during our dinner.
