Was visiting from out of town and first tried a different Teriyaki place on James street that was inexplicably closed on Saturdays (!). Went a bit further down the road to Buck's and was really impressed. I don't know what it's like for takeout, but dining in the plates were huge, and the Chicken Teriyaki/General Tso's Chicken combination that I ordered put my appetite to the test. They also had squeeze bottles of spicy sauce and sweet teriyaki sauces that took everything to eleven. I have eaten in a lot of Teriyaki places and this one ranks int he top five, for sure. I ordered from here because the delivery charge on DoorDash was cheap. Mistake, sort of. Got Mongolian Beef, Chicken Curry, French Kiss Sushi roll, Gyoza, and Miso. Miso was actually pretty good, better than expected. Mongolian beef was also pretty damn good. Right amount of spices. Not bad at all. The French Kiss..... not good. It had some sort of thin, mayo based sauce all over it, which was not mentioned in the description. I I had known that, I never would have ordered it. The Gyoza might have well been deep fried. I was expecting at LEAST pan fried, but more steamed. Once again, not mentioned in the description. If I had known I would not have ordered. The worst though, was without a doubt, the Chicken Curry. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. It was like they took egg drop soup (without the egg, you know that thick kind of soup), added raw curry spice, precooked Chinese style chicken (the kind of chicken you get in a chicken and broccoli dish), some vegetables (sliced, yeah, SLICED onion, and some broccoli), with pretty much no other spices (ZERO SALT, I had to add that just to get a little flavor). It was horrible. It did NOT resemble any curry I have ever seen ANYWHERE. It's like they just threw a bunch of crap together they had left over, so as not to waste it, and try to make some money off of garbage. Sort of what it was. My wife and I both tried a little, and flushed it down the toilet, it was that bad. I will never order anything from this place again, I don't care if the delivery fee is low. Terrible. read more

I do not know if I have experienced Teriyaki bliss yet, but I like to consider myself well versed in the world of Japanese fast food... With that said, this place, out of the 25 or so Teriyaki joint's I have tried in the area stands above the rest, but still... The down side, price is viewed (in my mind) as steep, but realistically it seems as though the price for a decent lunch will land you 10$ no matter where you go these days, so price... expect to pay 10$ quality, they seem to have a slightly different (I would call it more authentic) flavor to their yakisoba, and teriyaki chicken is teriyaki chicken. Aside from that, good menu choices, a wide variety. Personally I love this place and it would be my recommendation if someone asked me where to get teriyaki in this area. Portions are gratuitous, and the quality is a 8/10. Downside, no free refills and they charge for hot sauce takeout... upside, awesome food, and you can abuse the in house bottles of chilli sauce as liberally as you like. I recommend it, more particularly I recommend the Chicken or Beef (spicy) Yakisoba. read more

Bucks Teriyaki is the best!!! We eat here almost every week! And the servings are so generous, the prices reasonable, the taste superb, the service fast, and the people nice!!! They have the best chicken teriyaki and california roll. My husband and I share a meal and we always end up very satisfied. My in-laws eat here too and LOVE it! Whenever we come here, they seem to be busy with mostly people calingl for take-outs. I don't think I can survive a week without Buck's. Their chicken teriyaki and california roll is way too addicting for me. You might find yourself always craving for Buck's. Bucks is a great little hole in the wall teriyaki place right off of 240th, and it's been there forever as I've been going to it since I was little - and it really hasn't changed much either. The restaurant is interesting inside with a cool variety of neon signs, and it's not your typical completely authentically styled place. It's all counter service, just walk up in order. The inside is small, and is sometimes busy, other times not. We almost always call ahead and order take out and it's always ready in about 10 or so minutes. Personally, I think the chicken teriyaki is the best around. If not, then it's definitely the one of best values. I have had some, not-so good or authentic, chicken teriyaki before, but this is delicious. Plus, they essentially stuff an entire Styrofoam to-go container with rice, and top it with three full rows of teriyaki across it. All that for $7.50! It's so much, I almost never finish the whole thing. It always comes with a small little salad which I always enjoy. I've also had their sushi and gyozas. I've only ever gotten California rolls (family favorite), which are very good, but definitely not the absolute best I've ever had. But if your just looking for some decent sushi to satisfy your craving, this would be a great option. The gyozas are delicious. Only one time out of many they were not so great as they were a little over cooked and burnt. Otherwise I would totally recommend them. I usually get the Mongollian Beef with no vegetables as I am a very picky eater. They always give a generous portion of meat where I always have to take some home for later if I can't eat it in one sitting. I took away one star as the customer service isn't always the best as the staff is usually rude if their is a large line of people. Bucks was perfect, I especially love the prices. I will be back and coming from Seattle it's pretty refreshing to get some great tasting teriyaki and sushi. I had the Bento box B1 and it was perfect, California roll, a ton of teriyaki, and shrimp tempura. They even added a tempura onion ring which was tasty and adorable. My husband had the bento box with the french kiss roll, shrimp tempura, and chicken Katsu! What a hit. I ordered my daughter the 5.00 chicken bowl and we had a ton of left overs!!!! Teriyaki is a pretty simple food; not a lot to it. That being said, LOTS of places get it dead wrong. Bucks is not one of those places; they get it really right. I've had pretty much everything on the menu over the last 9 years, and it all stays really good. The teriyaki (pork, chicken, spicy, etc.) is always delicious. The yakisoba is fantastic. I went in today and ordered the prawn tempura+choice meat (TC5) and a side of gyoza. When I got home, it was nothing like I thought it would be. I opened 1 box and saw the prawns and gyoza together. 2 very crispy prawns with no vegetables, and 9 whole gyoza and 1/2 of the 10th. The 2nd container was completely filled with rice and chicken. I guess no vegetables meant extra chicken. For the price I paid for this meal, I figured 1 more prawn and vegetables would be included. The lady behind the counter had a very sour look the entire time I was waiting for my meal and seemed annoyed. Not very welcoming. This area has more than a few teriyaki places that serve what I'm looking for. I won't be coming back here again. read more

The best Teriyaki in town. The negative reviews are coming from people who expect a 5 star establishment. Your average Teriyaki shop is usually a ran down, hole in the wall type of place. When grading Teriyaki shops. They should be graded by the juiciness in their chicken, the stickiness in their rice, & the secret in their sauce. Obviously, their service and speed needs to be up to par but as for taste this place is the best no equivalent in Kent. If you come here to order on the weekends they are SWAMPED w/ wait times up to 45 mins and every sear filled. CALL IN ADVANCE AND AVOID BEING ANNOYED lol. You've been warned. But, Buck's is the best.
