The service was shockingly poor. The lunch menu options were so uninteresting that none of us bothered with any of it, choosing instead to have desserts. The desserts were actually quite good. As we left, I noticed the specials board, which included a special I would have ordered had the server bothered to mention the specials. The server also didn't bother to bring cream for our coffees, and when we pointed it out she said she'd bring some right away--then proceeded to ignore us completely for the rest of the time we were there. The door of the ladies' room was very difficult to open, so each of the senior citizens in our group was temporarily trapped in the restroom trying to get the door open. The roof of the deck leaks, so some of the tables were unavailable in the rain. It's only open until 2:00, but it stops serving breakfast at 11 AM. I'm not sure whether I'll ever return to this restaurant, but I will update the review if I do. read more

The best part of this place is the view across the water to Ft Knox. Three of us sat on the patio and had a party melt, a tuna melt and a haddock sandwich. The haddock sandwich was huge and got rave reviews. The party melt and tuna melt were ok, nothing to call attention to. The onion rings were cold, so not worth the extra up charge. Found this as we weee looking for somewhere to have breakfast before visiting Ft. Knox. Lucky for us we found this one! The staff re great and our waitress took care of us. The menu has your usual breakfast but a lot is included. I got the meat omelette and my wife's got the Greek omelette. We both were very happy with our selections. You get one thing food and well cooked. I particularly liked the home fries that I chose grilled as opposed to fried. The decor is nice and clean and decorated well. The vibe was pretty local. Been eating at Warren's for 6+ years, and it's always great food with great service. Warren's has the best fish and chips, among other dishes. The homemade fried onion rings are the best around as well. Ambience is kitschy coastal Maine, with a nautical theme, overlooking the cute little dock on Penobscot bay. Sometimes in the summer, it's fun to sit outside and watch the small cruise boat and other boaters dock. Warren's is our go-to place! read more

The new owners have done a fabulous job with new paint and decor. Service was good. Under the previous owners the pancakes were very fluffy and delicious. I have tried them twice now under the new management and they are just flat and not tasty. The potatoes looked to be the frozen ones. Tiny and hard bits. For breakfast I prefer fresh potatoes. Prices are great! We sat on the deck overlooking the harbor and the view was great even on a very foggy day! Little birds were stopping by hoping for some extra treats. The waitress was putting left over blueberries from the uneaten fruit cups out on the railing for them and they loved it. Disappointingly, the food was just OK and the service was very slow. Even after we told our waitress we were ready to order, she bussed two more tables before she came over to take our order. I had the special haddock Reubin sandwich, and it needed way more sauerkraut and dressing! Haddock was good. French fries were nice size and consistency but lacked flavor. Bread was awesome. My companion had a veggie omelet which was full of all sorts of veggies and tasted good. Grilled home fries were OK. Onions were too well done to nearly burned and some of the home fries were chewy. French toast was great - bread was wonderful - and covered with maple syrup, how can you go wrong? The restaurant was casual with a nice little deck with seating in the back and a fantastic view of the fort across the water. The menu was surprisingly simple, being mostly sandwiches with sides like beer battered fries and home made onion rings. They do also have breakfast, which looked so good, but when we were there they only were serving lunch items. I had the daily special which was an avocado BLT on sourdough with beer battered fries $11.00. It was big, fresh and delicious. My partner had hand-breaded chicken fingers with fries and onion rings $13.00. His chicken was really good. Tender and juicy with a fantastic flavorful coating and a generous portion. The food is fairly uninspiring from the nachos to the chopped (cube) steak to the seafood platter. The platter's fried scallops and fried haddock were the superstars of the meal. This charming restaurant has a back deck that overlooks the Penobscot River. Our family of four and our dog enjoyed a Sunday morning breakfast here. Our dog was allowed to be with us on the back deck while we ate as long as he didn't bark or growl, was kind, and we cleaned up after him. Done! We ordered Breakfast #2 (two eggs, meat, and choice of two sides), the Western omelet, avocado toast (one of the daily specials), waffle, and coffee. All was perfect diner food.
