On February 10, 2026, Felipe Cendejas came to replace a leaking drain tray on my hot water tank that Bud Anderson installed. I want to make it clear that I am giving Felipe 5 's. He was professional and friendly. However, I can only give Bud Anderson 1 (and I would make it 0 's if I could). Why you ask? They had to come replace a drain tray that they installed. Yet another "Oh sh*t" (one of many I might add). But that isn't the worst. When they installed the tank, they left a plug unplugged. Everything is in a power strip, so it was really obvious there was only 1 plug left dangling. I saw that but I didn't know what it was, so I didn't want to plug it in (perhaps it was left that way on purpose). I asked Felipe what it was for. He told me it was heating tape to keep my lines in the attic from freezing. So, when we had 14-degree temps recently, my lines froze. And when they froze, water backed up. I had to put 4 aluminum trays under 4 leaks to catch the water. I don't know what is going on at Bud Anderson, but they are going downhill fast! There is a saying that 1 "Oh Sh*t" erases 100 "Atta Boys". At this point BA owes me 400 "Atta Boys". I hope not because that means 400 things went wrong. If I didn't have a service contract already paid for, I'd be done with this company. Whatever is going on, you need to right the ship pronto!!! read more

Warning to all - Used high pressure sales tactics and bait and switch as well as misrepresented a loan/financing as 0% APR that had massive hidden fees. Financing company won't let me cancel loan, saying only dealer/bud Anderson can do it. Despite us never settling on a price (or having a change order when work went from expensive service to inexpensive service), and my not having signed, bud Anderson has affirmed to financing company that they won't change the price - and financing company is attempting to enforce it. Additionally, we now have shrapnel throughout the soil in our yard since they recommended the pipe bursting method despite having a line that could only be replaced via a digout. They tried to charge $16,000 for a backyard sewage line digout (which was what they had quoted for the pipe bursting), and then sent a backdated quote the day after for $27,000 and claimed that it was the original quote for a digout. On the phone, another member of their team said they were seeing the cost as $24k on their side which was the price that the financing company showed once adding in all of the hidden fees. We are still trying to negotiate price down, and get the shrapnel cleaned out of our yard (they said their crew cleaned it but attached is from afterward). I will note, the crew sent out to do the work was incredibly nice and honestly getting screwed by their own team all day long - from not having the line marked properly thus digging in the wrong spot, breaking their equipment because they weren't told about our pipe collapsing and disjointing and got the bursting bolt and line trapped in our soil (they were at my house until 9pm still trying to get it out). It's sad to see that this companies leadership is training them on unethical sales practices and then sending their crew out set up for failure. read more

I welcomed Dewayne the electrician from Bud Anderson out to my house to repair my Gererac Generator. He identified the problem even as a 15 year old machine ordered the part and returned to repair the problem. I felt like he did a great job explaining the issue, resolving, and made payment very simple. We all know having a certified Good electrician is never cheep, but you pay for what you get and I feel he did a good job at a good Value. I have no negative comments for him. Remember I'm not grading all of Bud Andersons employees (it's a big company) but Dewayne, was worth the time and money. I'd have him back to my Home anytime. read more

TLDR: The prices are outrageous. They continue to milk you for a monthly club thing if you get swindled into for a "discount," they aggressively try to up-sale you things you don't need, and the technician didn't fully fix the issue. Bud Anderson? More like Bud Scamderson. The subscription model is simply there to continually milk a steady stream of money from customers. To make things worse, the individual who provided the service (at a "discounted" price, only if you agree to subscribe to their club or whatever it's called) made a promise that wasn't upheld when I called to have my AC units tuned up. They got away with six or more months of my money without services rendered. Bottom line: The prices were outrageous, even with the so-called discount. The technician utilized a high-pressure up-sale technique, and the issue was only partially solved. Don't bother reaching out, I'm not changing my review. read more

Costed almost 1000 for an air duct cleaning the price here is ridiculous compared to any other home services. They do a decent job at best and with how much they charge you, you'd think it'd be the best job compared to anywhere but it's not worth the price nor the effort that the employees put in. read more

My stated problem was that the hot water in my shower only lasts for 11 minutes. They told me I needed a new hot water heater. They explicitly said that this would fix my issue. The technician provided me with a menu of choices from $10,0000 all the way down to $3,000 for "basic". I chose "basic". The next day, using the hot water heater, what do you know, the hot water in the shower still only lasts 11 minutes. I called them back. A new technician came out, checked some thing, and told me it was my shower head. He left, with my original problem still not solved. I replaced the shower head myself for $25, and that fixed my problem. They are nice enough, but I'm sorry to say they are crooks. I'm out $3,000, and they didn't solve my problem at all. They don't care about their customers, they don't care if you are happy. What they do care about is selling you a brand new system for thousands of dollars and getting away with robbing you. read more

PLEASE DO NOT use Bud Anderson Home services.-- One of their technicians came to check my furnace as part of a membership I'd been paying for, just to end up causing it to all of a "sudden" stop working. This technician spent over 1.5 hrs. in my attic doing God knows what, including banging on things. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until he'd left that he did not run the heat before leaving so when I proceeded to run it, it no longer worked. Oh but before he left, he sure made sure to take the time to give me quotes for what "...might cause your unit to stop working in the future." This guy came back to "check" things again (after I called them), and proceeded to tell me that the 2 things he'd said the day before "might possibly cause it to stop working in the future", were now all of a sudden needing to be replaced. Imagine that. After talking to the manager extensively, he proceeded to inform me that I was to pay for the parts that needed replaced despite highly suspecting the technician doing a shady job. Now tell me if this doesn't seem suspicious to you? Needless to say, I was left with a non-working furnace for days and no explanation as to why it all of a sudden stopped working. There was no understanding, accountability, nor resolution. -- Don't get scammed out of your hard earned money. DO NOT contact these people. Were led to believe a $99 service charge was available for a " quick" fix When they arrived it jumped up to almost $500. We explained the clog was only a little ways into the drain and didn't need a camera service down the drain. Rented a "snake" and had it cleared out in minutes! Beware of pricing!!! read more

Service on HVAC unit on residential house was performed on 08/30/2021. They arrived promptly and their tech found bad capacitor (Model: TRCFD455) in outside unit. I had been informed on initial phone call that the price was going to include a separate $79.00 dispatch fee. The tech then quotes me $150.00 for the part plus dispatch fee, however the fee would be waived for a $20/month service plan from them. That was at least a $79.00 savings today, he said. Agreed for plan and had him proceeded. My wife and I had just gotten back from our honeymoon and the house was in the low 90s with myself being sick from heat exhaustion. After completing the work, he slid the pad to us and said the part was actually $229.00. $150.00 originally for part + $79.00 for dispatch fee coincidentally equals $229.00 and showed on invoice that I had agreed to membership with all of that $229.00 being for a capacitor (Model: TRCFD455). At the time, it seemed high, but it was on one line item and I assumed they were maybe correct. After they left, I verified the part they installed was from $11 - $20 MAX on Walmart, Grainger, and SupplyHouse.com. That is an upcharge of 1000% I called company next day to immediately cancel contract and see what happened and make amends. Was called by a gentleman named Stacy who tried to say that the part price is indicative of them having to have it in stock. He then miscommunicated with his team regarding them reaching out to me to rectify this. In the meantime, they do not keep copies of changes they make to invoices. I received a call today from them from a Jessica who could only see the changed invoice and had to walk her through everything including having to send original invoice. The company has no liability to keep or maintain these copies and can change it to say whatever they want without customer's approval or consent. I provided Jessica with full breakdown and copies of my invoice. At first, they tried to say the $229 was for canceling membership and I told her I was charged originally regardless $229 for the part. I gave them a 5 Star when I first contracted with them. Wow, have things changed. Scheduled an appointment for arrival between 12 and 2 pm today. At 2:15 I called and asked about the whereabouts of my technician. I was informed that his arrival would now be after 3 pm. When I called I was told that they were delayed on this day because they had a meeting first thing this morning which delayed their service. I suggested that if they want to have a meeting then they should have it at the end of the day and not make customers wait as if we have nothing better to do than sit around waiting for them. If this was a one time occurrence then I would not be writing this review but it seems to be becoming a normal business practice for them. I had someone come to give a bid on our new central heat and air and they were twice the price of everyone else's bids. He wanted to do unnecessary things like replace all ducts (everyone else said they were fine) and move the whole unit to the attic. When I said it was twice as much, he said he could do what other contractors bid on, still for an extra $2000. Um no. I was concerned about the ducts when Anderson told me they needed to be replaced, so I called the other contractors who knew it had to be Bud Anderson when I told them my concerns. They all said they were notorious for fear mongering and aggressive upselling. So I won't call them for anything again. read more

Unless you want to be told your air conditioning system needs replaced, save your call. Three years ago I requested a service call. Two members were dispatched and after approximately 15 minutes I was told that my whole cooling system needed replaced (I'll also say that a well rehersed sales pitch, including special financing options were presented at this time). It took 7 Bud Anderson employees and 6 visits to our residence to install 1 small HVAC system and then try to figure out why it didn't work. All during Covid 19 when social distancing was recommended. Bud Anderson recommended that we spend at least another $800 to get our new already paid system running. We later discovered this wasn't true when we got a second opinion. When I tried to have a conversation with BA's Operation Manager, he talked over me rather than listen to me. Our system is now running after a small key was replaced by Bud Anderson. That employee tried to offer an apology. Other than that Our experience with them was a nightmare. read more

I've used Bud Anderson a number of times for both personal and investment properties. First, I'll start with what I really (want to) like about them. Their scale and their prices are great, they normally can get to you pretty quickly and around the clock which is great when a tenant calls. However, more than half the time they fail to diagnose the cause of an issue. If they were baseball players they'd be great, but batting .300 is terrible in the HVAC world. $40,000 vs. $170!! I had Bud Anderson come to my girlfriend's home to diagnose her A/C issues (she has 2 systems, one upstairs, one downstairs, both were frozen over). The experience was quite bad. Nick (the Bud Anderson tech) said that the freezing over was "probably" from being low on refrigerant and that there "probably" was a leak that was most likely in the expansion coils which "probably" couldn't be repaired and that both the upstairs and downstairs units INSIDE and OUTSIDE components needed to be completely replaced. He stated that the approximate cost for that would be $40,000 and that he would need to bill me to come out a 2nd time to take measurements and actually write an estimate. I paid BA $179 for this. The next day, HK (http://hkheatingandair.com/) came over, found that the only issue was clogged drains, unclogged the drains and got everything working like new again, I paid them $170. I made a formal complaint via e-mail to Bud Anderson and was told that the matter would be reported to their general manager, but that's where their contact ended. I have always thought Bud Anderson was a trustworthy company, but now I say BEWARE. I am not HVAC trained but it is my understanding that a clogged drain is one of the first things to check. Get a second opinion before going with Bud Anderson!!!! This company is dishonest, lacks transparency and has very poor communication. I had a technician out to my house to diagnose my AC not working. He correctly identified that my air handler needed replaced and said he would call back with a quote. Two days passed and I did not hear back, I called in and eventually got a hold of someone who could give me the quote. The quote to replace the air handler was $3,740. When I asked for an itemized quote they refused to give one stating "it is a package deal". He also refused to give me the model number of the replacement part so that I would have a harder time getting competitive quotes. Their only interest was to up-sell me to a complete new system. I went with a mom and pop who did the complete install for $1,420, less than half of Bud Anderson's quote! He did itemize the work: $800 for the new air handler $300 for labor $320 for freon recharge (10 gal at $32/gallon) This means that Bud Anderson was accounting for $3,000 in labor and freon recharge!! Always get a second opinion before using Bud Anderson. It is very disappointing that an established company makes a living by taking advantage of customers who do not have a solid understanding of this industry. read more

Stay far away. Here is what happened to me! I called in the middle of summer when my HVAC stopped working. They sent out a VERY rude tech named Terry, who didn't seem to know what he was doing and didn't even go into my attic to check my compressor before he "gave me a diagnostic". He sold me some part and replaced it outside unit/ I can't remember what it was called, but it didn't fix anything! So I called for another tech to come out and they send out Stacey, the Service Manager. He came out the next day went into my attic and told me that my evaporator coil was leaking and I needed to replace it. He gave me a quote of several thousand on that ( I can't remember how much). He also suggested I replace the whole unit and gave me quotes from $8,000-$12,000 for a new unit, that I definitely did NOT forgot. I live in a 1,600 sq foot house one story house, so that sounded a little high to me. I subsequently got 2 other quotes from other companies and BOTH of them told me that it looked like someone had purposefully damaged the coil! I guess when they say " One call does it all" they are saying "Hey give us a call and we will break your unit then fix it for you, and as an added bonus, at a much higher price than any of our competitors". They said the way it was detached was very hard to just "happen". I went with the second company and got a whole new unit for $5,000. I guess they thought they could take advantage of me because I am single woman who lives alone. Nope! Good try Bud Anderson, better luck next time ( which will be never of course...) read more

I have had to call Bud Anderson Many times over the past few years. It never seems to fail that my older unit keeps having pesky issues. My last occurance happened on a Sunday evening. My air went out and my house became very hot, very fast. I decided to use Bud anderson site to schedule an appointment for the next day. I recieved a call back within 5 minutes to discuss the issue and set up an appointment. Nathan was my last rep to service my unit, and i was very pleased by his speed and professionalism. He determined the root issues, quoted me the prices, and told me what i saved by being a GOLD member. I gave him the OK to procced, and he got right to fixing my unit. (Nothing worse than a chatty cathy service tech who wants to become your best friend while you are on a lunch break getting a service call done). One star because I am unable to select a 0. We called them at 8 am in the morning because our Air conditioning was not working. They called us back at 1 to tell us it would be tomorrow before they could come out. All of this despite the fact that they had installed our entire system in 2012 and we had a service contract with them for 5 years. Apparently, since it is a vacation home, we had missed the renewal which expired the end of 2017. After pointing this out and calling numerous times, they said they would be here after 5 but never called nor showed. My experience with them was not very satisfying. Called them to service my ac prior to the summer. You cannot beat their price for a service call to check the ac first off. However, before he told me what he had done he told me what I needed to have done to my unit. When he finally got to what he did, it was very quick and not his main emphasis. In other words I was trying to be sold an entire new unit and have things replaced that were not required. Their technicians are prime marketing tools. They want to sell you new pieces of equipment. They leave a mess everywhere they work, then they won't provide cleaning service, which is in their contract. They will scratch your brand floor, then hire cheapest labor to repair floor. Now have problems with floor separating at seams only in the area that was "fixed". DO NOT HIRE BUD ANDERSON. They provided a list of recommendations to bring my equipment to newer condition in order to avoid future possible breakdowns. Been a member of their gold club for several years. Part of the membership is they bring out a new filter to replace the old one twice a year when they do their maintenance. Every single time, they say the exact same thing. We didn't bring one and they will either bring two out next time or bring one by in a day or two. Never have they followed through on this promise. I had a plumber come look at the faucet in the kitchen as it was leaking from the fixture. The seal between the sink and the faucet was old and allowing water to leak under the sink. I decided to replace the sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. I received a quote of 406.25 + tax for installation only as I would purchase the sink, faucet, drain kit, and garbage disposal independently. I paid $79 + tax for a dispatch fee and was informed that that fee would be deducted from the total cost of installation. (I was informed, before scheduling the appointment, of the dispatch fee and told if repairs were scheduled, then that fee would be waived. That same day, I scheduled an appointment for the installation and requested that the appointment be with the same person who did the initial visit, David M. On the day of the installation, Bud Anderson had an emergency call so my appointment was delayed 2 hours and the person who arrived from Bud Anderson (not David M. but he never introduced himself so I don't know his name) gave me a price of $860 + tax for installation only. After I was able to produce a written copy of the estimate, Bud Anderson agreed to honor the original estimate. The Bud Anderson employee then had to leave to get supplies (he didn't know what he was coming to repair so he didn't come prepared). After another hour of waiting for him to return, the sink, faucet, and garbage disposal were installed. The actual work took about 1-1.25 hours. The final cost was $445.59. They did not waive the initial dispatch fee. The employee told me there should have been a dispatch fee for each day so he waived the fee for today. Ultimately paid 445.59 for one hour of labor (and that was apparently discounted because I pay for their plumbing maintenance club but no discount is listed on the receipt). I could not get a clear answer as to the extreme difference in estimates. I am still awaiting responses to my inquiries. I am not happy with this situation. The installation was adequate. Absurdly overpriced and lacking value for the amount of work that was done. They didn't even remove the bright blue protective tape from the sink before the install, so there is bright blue at the corners of the sink. The receipt is not itemized so I can only assume that they charge $400 per hour ($800 per hour for the high estimate). I have previously purchased a HVAC and water heater from Bud Anderson but I can't imagine using them again in the future. I feel they were trying to take advantage of me(and did). I am very disappointed. Unfortunately I think I will have to pay another company to come make sure the work was done correctly as I have zero trust in Bud Anderson. read more

Second time I made the mistake of using this Company. Had to call after hours for Heating unit. Ok, The tech starts trying to sell their "Gold" Service Package. They put on a Flame sensor for the overly inflated price of $225.00 plus tax and proceeds to tell me I need a blower motor for the low low price of $1,225.00 plus tax. I researched the price of the sensor and the blower motor. The sensor is around $30.00 and the motor $68.00. I priced this with a reputable Company and was told that was a very over inflated price on both services. This company will rip you off especially if you are a single woman or Senior citizen. I've had good experiences with other companies, but Bud Anderson over delivers every time rather it be planned maintenance or a late night emergency.
