Very good service. Lunch time I ordered a patty Melt. It came with black marbled Rye, way over cooked. Asked the server to tell the cook that he over cooked the bread. She came back and said that's how he likes it cooked. I think what he likes and what the general public likes are two different things. Will not order that again. Read the glowing reviews for this long time local favorite and decided to visit. Lots of locals there in groups as well as couples. I think there are favorites that people get so they know what they want. I got the homemade Prime Rib Dip sandwich which was really nothing special. Had the choice of a baked potato but didn't realize it was an additional $5 charge. The potato was pretty good! I wouldn't order the sandwich again though. I'm going to be fair and start by staying this establishment has consistently had good food. My recent issue has been ethical. I had been ordering takeout in which I had been tipping roughly 10% which seems reasonable considering I didn't dine in. I've worked in this industry and takeout tips aren't always regular. When I ordered again as I picked up my order someone had tacked on a 20% tip without disclosing it anywhere or asking. I didn't want to cause conflict so I paid and left irritated. Then once I got into my food my side salad was missing which caused more irritation. I had been a pretty regular customer but haven't been back since. I don't know if it was a company policy or one disgruntled staff member. I find it pretty unethical to not disclose that till I hit the register, especially on a takeout. read more

Recommended by the hotel staff, Bud Jackson's Eatery lived up to expectations. The steak bites were grilled to perfection and were tender. Love the atmosphere, service and food. I also appreciated the hours being 11am-2am everyday, great for those traveling through and local hotel suggested them immediately. They had lots of tv's for sports goers, pool tables, dart boards, full bars (large margaritas), dance floor, and tons of tables. All around, highly suggest! read more

Really liked my meal. I had the steak bite dinner and the vegetables were perfectly grilled and the salad was really fresh too. We loved Bud Jackson's. Ate lunch there. Good food, amazing hand cut fries and great prices. Love all the screens for sports and it's big in there. Only downfall was we heard they were extremely slow to get food out. We did find that to be the case. So if you're in a hurry this may not be the place for you. Always a good time at Buds. One of 3 places in La grande that have pool tables. They have 2 pool tables operated by quarters only. They also have darts. They have a good selection of drinks, and the food is delicious. The bar food is always good when you're drinking. But it's also a great spot to have dinner. The regular bar tenders are amazing and always attentive. They used to have karaoke nights on Thursdays if there's enough people there. The dj is great at playing songs you request. read more

Nice clean establishment. Staff was super nice. Warm smiles from the moment I walked in. Had the steak bites with waffle fries. Plentful and great taste. You can definitely tell it was a sport bar for the locals but didn't feel out of place at all. High in the 80s but they are keeping it dark with fans all over the place. Honestly, this bar has went down hill. Not having the proper drink mixes. Bartender not knowing how to make drinks correctly. We ordered chicken strips and tots and got food poisoning after we got home. Pool table was fun but honestly the food needs to be checked with a thermometer before it's served. The soup of the day 7/5/2022 tasted "fishy "! Weird for chicken rice soup. When I said something to waitress nothing else offered. Service overall was poor and minimal. They would rather stand at the bar visiting amongst themselves than wait on customers. Also I believe in Oregon it's illegal for the servers/bar staff to drink behind the bar. Hope OLLC doesn't do a inspection! Also I ordered a full rack of ribs. Don't ever want those again!!! So overcooked and bad! Couldn't even chew them. Had to spit them out. We end up eating here because all the Restaurant we called were all closed on Sunday. I am not really sure about eating dinner in a Bar though I told my husband I dont think they can go wrong if we order Prawn and Chips coz it's just fried. The menu said its Tiger Prawn and Country Style Fries. When the food came it was not prawn but just a regular battered butterfly shrimp. It was good actually atleast their fry sauc e is home made and so as the fries was hand cut. Hubby had a Mushroom Burger with Tator Tots, he said it's good too.
