We end up eating here because all the Restaurant we called were all closed on Sunday. I am not really sure about eating dinner in a Bar though I told my husband I dont think they can go wrong if we order Prawn and Chips coz it's just fried. The menu said its Tiger Prawn and Country Style Fries. When the food came it was not prawn but just a regular battered butterfly shrimp. It was good actually atleast their fry sauc e is home made and so as the fries was hand cut. Hubby had a Mushroom Burger with Tator Tots, he said it's good too. We were stuffed.... not too bad fro what we paid. We weill probably come back when we're in town again. read more

We were traveling thru to ID to pick up a puppy a couple days after Christmas & everywhere was closed in La Grande! We showed up here right after opening at 11am...and we were glad we fell upon it! And allowed kids in the restaurant side. Our server was super sweet and helpful- Great food. Decent beer selection. Would go back for the King Kong Club & a pint of the Barley Browns IPA!! I sat at the bar, waiting for my food, as i watched the bartender take a salad from the window, and on her way to deliver it, picked a crouton up with her fingers and ate it..... the gal who ordered it did not notice. Waste of money on food that's less than average. The lettuce in both salads was so wet they weren't even edible, neither of us finished our steaks. $5 uncharged to get toppings on a baked potato which is listed no where on the menu. The only place for a beer snob in La Grande. Great beer selection, wide variety of specials and try to keep things fun for the younger crowd. Burger there was well above average, and it's by far the best place to watch a game in Northeast Oregon read more

So's I was done for the day, few days before the fat boy supposed to come down my chimney ya know. I stops in to get my mitts on something to chew. Decides my ankle deserves a little treat yanno, won't have to cook later her own self. I've stopped here before, it was great. We orders up a couple burgers and fries, the usual stuff. Has something to wash em down. The broad tak'in orders was good, fast, polite and the food came pretty quick. She did an excellent job. The problem was the burgers and fries were salty. Really f-ing salty. At the time we was in a rush and just choked em down jumped back in the boiler and breezed on down the road, places to go, you know the drill. I asks her, was that shit super salty to you. Yeah she says it was. I has to stop before I'm done for the night and puke it all up. She says she wishes she could too. It tasted about the same second time around, f-ing salty, Will I go there again .. nah. At least not for a year or so, maybe they'll fire the dummy cook'in by then and get a real cook in there. Don't be a bunny, take a pass on eating there, even the Mickey D doesn't use that much salt. The amount they used would make the salt lakes jealous. Great local sports bar with good food, lots of local PNW beers on tap and a plethora of TVs for your entertainment. Hub ordered a club house sandwich with batter fried green beans. Both were delicious. I had the SW chicken salad, and it was very good, with an excellent Chipotle mayo dressing on the side. Service was excellent; our waitress was friendly and didn't act at all hurried although they were quite busy. Our order came quickly, but we weren't under any pressure to move on. La Grade doesn't have too many choices, but this is a good one! read more

On our way home from a weekend in Boise to Vancouver Wa "hanger" started to set in. We found Bud Jacksons here on yelp and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Hubby had the French dip, I had the Patty Melt. Our AWESOME waitress suggested the Buffalo chips, wow were they good! Every bite of our dinner was delicious, service was spectacular and the atmosphere was very fun. Will definitely be back next time we are this way. read more

Wow what a meal!!! Dinner here is above them all. It was a fresh, top quality 10oz. top sirloin cooked perfectly with a nice side salad, chose red mashed potatoes oh boy & they grilled fresh broc w/cauli, carrots, onions (who does that ?)so quickly and I'm way full because no way would I have left any behind. Greeted by a sweet smiling young woman. Not. Ton of people when I arrived but within 20 minutes of ordering it was packed. Good variety on the menu and quick service. I got a burger with guacamole and it was fresh and hot. It had a very tasty bun too! Good fries. I am always pleased when the food is hot. Sometimes when places are busy your food just sits there. I would give this place 10 Stars if I could; on a Sunday night, I called ahead with a difficult crowd and Josh said "ah, just bring em" and that's what we did. The staff--our wonderful waitress, whose name I missed but she was tall, blonde, sweet, and awesome, and Josh--made our dinner fantastic, it WAS fantastic, and they made all efforts to make us happy. Bud Jackson's is one of several similar-looking joints along I-84 in Oregon. The deciding factor was outdoor seating. They had it. The interior is decorated with pictures of hunters showing off various dead animals & neon beer signs. That's called ambience. Our waitress was oddly talkative (Prozac?) and she told us that she grew up in a town that was later cleared because of insane lead poison. Hmmmm. Got a B.L.T., figuring that it'd be safe. Super-greasy bacon & one razor-thin slice of tomato... Poop. But not the worst poop I've encountered, by a long shot. read more

Another road trip. Another search for the perfect burger and shake. We are running out of Pendleton/LaGrande options on our Boise trips. Seeing that Bud Jackson's Sports Bar got decent burger ratings, we decided to give it a shot. Since most bars are not known for their ice cream choices, we chose to forgo the search for the milkshake. I selected the basic burger (lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles? and mayo) while my wife went with the BLT. Hamburger was okay, not bad, not great - my wife was blown away by the amount of bacon on her sandwich and would give them 5 stars! We both had the waffle fries which were very good and plentiful (in retrospect, wish one of us had chosen the buffalo chip, just for the experience). Service was very good and prices were right. But, sadly, our perfect burger search must continue in the Pendleton/LaGrande area. read more

This is one of the best bars I've ever been too. The staff is friendly and super nice. You can simply tell they love their job. Also the main cook, they call him "Tiny", can really cook. He knows how to make some damn good burgers. Josh, bald guy. served me and he was a real character. Telling various stories and making everyone laugh. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't have any MENS tshirts when I walked in there and now that I'm sober I have a giant beer jar with their name on it.
