I was also pleasantly surprised that they brought me the left over fabric, from my re-upholstery job. It is not too much, but it is enough for me to take right back to them, and order a few small accent pillows to match the daybed. (Which I plan to do soon.) They could have discarded the fabric or made pillows to sell in their shop, and I would never have known the difference. The honesty meant a lot to me. And speaking of fabric ... they have zillions of beautiful choices, in all price ranges. They were very patient with me and I am a person who does thorough research and takes her time, before I finally make a decision. I will admit a lot of places would have likely become annoyed or frustrated with me, for taking so much time and visiting the showroom to look through samples, over and over and over again, requesting pricing. But they were very kind and pleasant and willing to check pricing for me on many fabrics, many times. I also felt they charged a very fair price, especially considering the craftsmanship and turn around time and their willingness to do the pick up and drop off. The turn around time was so much faster than I expected. It was the holidays and I had to request they hold the daybed a few extra weeks for me, due to my extra traveling and holiday activities. True to form, they were very accommodating and understanding. If you find this review, consider yourself DONE looking for a quality re-upholstery business. 5 Star Custom Upholstery has earned a customer for life, in me. And why would I want a credit when I am being cheated out of money?? When the business I have supported for six yrs referred customers too is not backing me on something that is their fault. During check-in, I had multiple verbal conversations with your front desk employee regarding additional services for my dog. Each time the subject came up, I clearly stated that I did not want any extra services added. I specifically remember saying no because I live paycheck to paycheck and was trying to keep costs down. At no point did I knowingly agree to extra services. If your policy is that only the written contract matters regardless of what is verbally discussed, then your staff should be trained to go line-by-line through the paperwork clearly and accurately instead of having conversations that directly contradict what the customer is saying. I take responsibility for not rechecking every line before signing, but your business also has a responsibility to ensure customers are not being verbally told one thing while paperwork reflects another. A customer should be able to trust that when they repeatedly say "no" to extra services, those services are not added anyway. I am asking you to take responsibility for the failures in communication and handling of this situation. From my perspective, I was charged for services I explicitly declined, and I find that unacceptable. Even more so the owners response to their business.
