I have 2 Cavapoos same litter&brothers, 3 yo. I requested that ONE groomer do both dogs. February appointment was great. March appointment was terrible. One dog, Ian, was done very well. It was obvious that My second pup, Iggie, was not groomed by the same person as he was never trimmed on face very uneven and head and body fur was uneven. Do not expect this grooming facility to follow simple instructions when your animals are left in their care. I am an 80 yo disabled Veteran that has owned mostly poodles for 60 years and never seen a dog chopped up so bad during grooming. On the other hand I have seen very professional results from other groomers at this facility. The man who claims to have groomed my two dogs should not be allowed to groom in the future and be limited to bathing animals only. Had to reschedule due to my dog getting very sick and took him to the vet the day of our grooming appt. The man never mentioned a rescheduling fee but it didn't matter I couldn't bring my dog in with diarrhea and vomiting instead we went to our vet to get him better. Rescheduled for the following week brought him in to be groomed and was informed by Tonya, the owner, I owned $20 for rescheduling. I explained the situation and how I couldn't foresee this and definitely didn't want to bring him in sick. She rudely said oh well her policy and then informed me she could careless if I come back or about all the people I have referred to her, she has a ton of business. This is the second time I've taken my 90 pound golden doodle to dog gone cute and I will never take my pup anywhere else. One groomer lady had only trimmed one side of our dog's face. I had to take him back inside the shop and have him get redone by a better groomer. They took care of both my babies (They were in need). I felt kind of bad that had neglected there needs so long. We loaded them up drove about an hour walked through the door and was greeted with a smile. Despite how stinky they were. I ran my errands was told to be patient we will call you when they were ready. We arrived back at the shop, even though it took hours it was well worth the distance. Haze and Cleo were shining, happy and had a great time. The staff was patient, they are extremely wonderful. If you have a fur ball (in my case BEARS) DGCG is the place to go. read more

I stumbled across Dog Gone Cute Grooming via Kudzu yesterday after my Cocker Spaniel puppy had been groomed by someone else and it wasn't quite to my liking. I was looking for someone who could fix her up ASAP and noticed that although DGCG was nearest to my home in Braselton, they had no reviews. I didn't really want to make my dog a guinea pig and test a brand new business, but their website was well put together, and the prices seemed reasonable, so I gave them a call. Danielle apologized and said she didn't have time that day, but I could bring her in the following morning. Google Maps took me twenty minutes out of my way to Jefferson, for some reason. When I realized the error, I called Danielle to say I would be late and she was completely understanding. Truly, a pleasant person to work with. When we finally arrived, I was thrilled to see another Cocker Spaniel on the grooming table who was coming out quite nicely. Danielle took the time to look at my photos and listen to my long-winded explanations of what I was hoping for, and then she took my girl behind the counter to play with the other loose dogs in the salon. I was told if they play well with others, they don't have to be crated, which is obviously less stressful for them! Two hours later, I had a much prettier puppy back FREE OF CHARGE. That's right. You read correctly. She said because all she did was fix up a previous groomer's job and didn't give a full groom, it was no charge to me. All I owed her was the opportunity to have her groom my Cocker again in six weeks. I'm sold. We'll see you again in May/June, Danielle. We have taken our three problem children (Aussie, bojack, and our rescued am staffie mix who was a bait dog). They handled my rescue with such care despite his lack of cooperation. They treat my Aussie who can be a bit of a pain in the butt so well, she lets them do anything to her. They even do well with my Bojack who has the most piercing bark and whine who whines incessantly and barks with anxiety. My babies always come out perfect, happy, and spoiled. They shaved my Australian Shepherd, then lied and said "it was in his notes" to do it. We would NEVER get our Australian Shepherd shaved, because we know that the coat will NEVER grow back the same, as with many double coated dogs. We were VERY surprised they did not know this and at least call to verify so we could tell them they got our dog confused with the OTHER dog by the same name who was there. Instead, they LIED and said that people get their Australian Shepherd shaved all the time. They were clearly wrong and just would not admit it. We won't be back, and if you love your double coated dog-you won't make the mistake of taking yours there either. I am so disappointed as they did so well for YEARS, and now not only did they mess up-they lied about it and tried to convince us that WE were the stupid ones just to cover their butt. Oh and even discussing at length how clearly wrong they were and how clearly unhappy we were, they still insisted we pay every cent of the $85.00 we had to put in their greedy little hands. Excellent staff of fabulous groomers! Take 5 of my dogs there and have been taking them there for years. They dogs look, smell and feel great and are treated well in their care. My Shih Tzu, Toby Monster, is a handful but Morgan has his number! My Golden Shepherd was sent home from two groomers before because she was so scared they couldn't get her groomed but DGCG has a way with her. As a dog trainer I am asked for referrals in everything from dog food to pet sitters to groomers and Best Buddies Dog Training gives DGCG 5 stars! read more

First of all, I'm a long time customer. Been going here for over three years. Used to love it, but the service here has gone steadily downhill the last six months. Took my Portuguese Water Dog and Australian Shepherd in for a bath and grooming this week. Met by a new groomer who immediately tells me both have to be shaved. My dogs are indoor/outdoor, which means they each have a problem area or two, but nothing a pair of scissors couldn't fix in 5 minutes. I tell the groomer to do the best she can, and even gave her a little leeway to go a tad short if she needed too, but left express instructions the dogs were not to be shaved. She told me she would make my dogs "as fluffy as she could". Later that day was told they were ready, and upon arriving found both were sheared almost to the skin! Imagine how ridiculous two long haired dogs look shaved! My heart sank. It will take 8 months for my Aussie to get anything like his old coat back. If the groomer couldn't have done what I asked she should have told me when I brought them in, or phoned me if she ran in to major problems. Unless you are lucky and get one of the original groomers here to do your dog, you will get some hack who will do as she pleases and will disregard your requests. I'm done with this place, will never go back... read more

Morgan has the best personality and an eye for detail. The facility is clean, spacious, and you can really tell they love dogs here. I took my girl there about three weeks ago. I made my appointment over the phone and, because I'm fairly disorganized, I couldn't locate my dog's vaccination info. No worries - they said they would verify with my vet's office. When I arrived, I was freaked out because when I spoke with someone on the phone, I thought it was an appointment time, but it was really just a drop off time. It was really busy when I dropped her off around 8:30 on a Saturday morning: All the dogs were behind the gate, but a few were running around freely back there - I think they were either groomers dogs or regulars. I told them my girl wasn't cool with chaos so they put all the dogs in the crates. They also said they would take their time with her because she's elderly and suffers from arthritis. To my pleasant surprise, they were done with her in four hours (which is on par with Petco) and she looked like a SHOW DOG! I have never seen my dog look so beautiful. And it was SIGNIFICANTLY less than what I pay at Petco. I'm sold for life on this place. My girl is a Chow Chow/Golden Retriever mix, so she's not exactly easy to groom. Oh, and they sell really high quality dog food there, not the stuff you can buy at the big box stores, so that saves me a trip to the specialty pet food place I go to in Sugar Hill. Love the place, love the groomers, love the price! read more
