I hate writing bad reviews but I honestly feel so obligated at this point to inform others about the lack of professional communication as well as the misinformation. Scheduled my appointment with her spoke with her on the phone, spoke with her via text and all the times I communicated with her I mentioned numerous of times about matting and how badly matted my dog was due to me just having a baby we had to hold off on the groomers expense. I stated this to her and she mentioned she would be able to demat him no problem. Never asked for pictures never communicated that it could be a possibility that she wouldn't be able to do it. Etc. Instead, she secured my appointment and waited until the day of when I arrived to tell me that she wasn't going to be able to demat him due to liability concerns. I feel like it was a load of crap because she waited until the day of the appointment, have me drive all the way to her just for her to tell me she won't be able to do it. I reached out to her via text because thats how we've been communicating and I stated my concerns to her regarding how I felt as a client and she didn't respond which says enough to me. I sent Hachii to his vet and other groomers and no one had an issue with grooming him, it was finding a groomer with a reasonable price, which we were able to do, by the way. And Hachii is doing fabulous and looks so good and we're so happy to have him back in good condition. Just wish she would of told me to send pictures in prior to his appointment of his condition before having me drive all the way to her just to turn me away. read more

I just picked up my five year old German shepherd/Siberian husky mix (Blaze) from The Fuzzy Dawg. Blaze is very VERY nervous in temperament. I am VERY VERY impressed with the treatment of my nervous pooch. They listened to his body language and didn't push him to be any more uncomfortable than he needed to be. I've been bringing my 7 month old standard poodle puppy, Tucker, to The Fuzzy Dawg since he was about 12 or 13 weeks old. We had taken our last standard poodle to one of the big chain pet supply stores that also have grooming and they did an okay job but they usually kept him all day long. I didn't like the idea of subjecting a little puppy to a whole day at the groomer. I researched and found The Fuzzy Dawg just down the street. I liked their website and the fact that they are adamant about not stressing the dog out. Not to mention they do a beautiful job with the grooming! Tucker's had 2 mini grooms so far and 2 full grooms. He's been groomed by Mary, the owner, and Meg, one of the groomers. I would highly recommend either of them! They both did a great job and Tucker always comes home happy and gorgeous! They are done within 3 hours and I think that's good for such a young dog, I think any longer would be too stressful. Everyone I've dealt with has been very nice and helpful. I also feel like they're very affordable, but that's just a plus because I'd pay more for such a great place! I really am so happy I found The Fuzzy Dawg and I highly recommend them. I was looking for a new groomer for my dog, since the one that is close to my house was only "OK." When the owner of the shop groomed him, he looked great. When it was someone else, he didn't look primped and as clean-cut has he has in the past. I started shopping around and found this new groomer "The Fuzzy Dawg" in Alpharetta (Holcomb Bridge Rd. and Barnwell, very close to Norcross). I called to get an appointment over a weekend, and they were booked up (that's a good sign for a new groomer, when I'm trying to make an appointment at the last minute!). I made an appointment for a day during the week the following week. I took him in and was impressed with how clean the store was! I was greeted immediately with "Hi there, Is this Tyler?" The groomer, Stephanie, took a break from the Chow she was grooming to come over and ask me some questions about how I wanted him groomed. I filled out my paperwork as a new client, and they took him in the back and started lathering him up. I asked if they could groom him without a bath (since he's good about getting a bath at home, and I love the smell of my soap that I use at home). They said it's hard to get a good clean cut if he's not bathed, so I asked if I could bring in my own soap next time around - and they said "Absolutely!" They said it would be about 3 hours, and they would call me when he was ready for pick up. They called me about 2 hours later, and he was ready to go! I picked him up and he looked EXCELLENT! Kudos to Stephanie for a great doggy-haircut for Tyler! He is a sheltie mix, and rang in at $47, a little more than my old groomer, but they did a nice job, so it's worth it. I took my dog in for her first ever grooming. I felt relieved when they seemed to really listen to what I wanted for her cut. My dog is an Australian Shepherd and I didn't want her to loose her overall look, but trim down her ears, arm hair, and britches a bit. I did a mini-groom and furmination. I was called a couple of hours later and was a bit nervous. However, she looked so good. She looked like such a proper aussie with her groomed feet and britches. They also put bows in her hair and gave her a UNC bandana to match her collar. Our dog won't need regular grooming but I will definitely be back when she needs one again and I would recommend this groomer to others. read more

I looked long and hard to find a trustworthy groomer. Heard too many bad stories about big box pet store groomers and found through research that some mobile groomers did not always keep to their schedules. My research turned up the fuzzy dog and tons of great compliments on Mary and her sidekick. It is just the two of them and both are great with my 3 year old English Springer Spaniel. It truly is a safe environment for your dog and they are both very good groomers. I am very, very picky who I trust my dog to for a couple of hours. read more

I exclusively use this place for my dog! They are absolutely amazing and so caring. We have an Australian Shepard and he sheds A LOT. They have a "furminator" treatment specifically to help with shedding and it's such a lifesaver. We always get compliments about how great he looks, even weeks after the groomers. The express appointment in the mornings is one of the best things you can do - worth the $5 extra dollars. I can't believe how reasonable to prices are the the quality of service they provide. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Mary!!!!! I've been bringing my dogs here for years and have never had a complaint. They have taken care and groomed my elderly dogs as their own. She gets my babies in and out. He's not there all day AND he's been groomed to perfection. They have excellent customer service. Now there's usually a couple week wait to get an appointment but they have a cancellation list in the event someone cancels. My baby has gotten an appointment that way on numerous occasions. But that goes to show how great this place is. My dog always smell amazing and has the cutest bandanas when I arrive to pick him up. They were even great with my beagle who was completely blind. They were patient and my blind baby was never nervous to go get groomed. I hate that I've moved to the other side of town (55 minutes away), but I would highly highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. Whoever is my dog's next groomer has BIG shoes to fill. read more

They were flexible in working me in for an appointment an hour later, the prices were reasonable, the staff was polite and friendly, and most importantly, my Odin was very happy, clean, and adorably fluffy after his bath! Our dog was groomed at the salon on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Everything seemed fine when I picked up the little girl dog up but that night, my wife noticed several marks from an electric trimmer (5) on her chest and abdomen and a significant scrape on the inside of one of her rear thighs. Of course we're never taking her back there again and I was willing to let the matter drop. Then I got to thinking about how roughly my little dog was treated and unless changes are made, other people's dogs will be abused during grooming. Therefore, 2 days ago, 8/5/14, I called the salon and asked to speak to the owner. I was told that the owner wasn't in but would be in the next day. I left my name and phone number and asked that the owner return my call. The owner did not call and no one is answering the phone at the salon now. I wasn't looking for much if the owner had returned my call. All I wanted was an assurance that the owner would take whatever steps necessary to avoid this happening again. I was willing to leave it at that. The remedy would be up to the owner. Whether it involved a bit of additional training for the groomer to firing the groomer or anything in between. I wasn't going to ask what the solution would be or follow up on it or anything. Just assurance that steps would be taken to avoid it happening again. We weren't going to ask for a refund or anything. I've noticed that on this site that Mary S, on 7/20/12 replied to a negative review, on this site, from Crista C. Part of her reply was "I was honest and said I don't know what happened to Parker as we would NEVER send a dog home with a injury especially without notifying the owner. " That "NEVER" is a lie as there is no way that someone didn't notice that my dog was damaged. You might want to read the original review and response. The review was written by Crista C. in Atlanta on 3/5/2010 and the reply can be found directly below. I wish I had read that review prior to taking my little girl dog there. The tone of Mary S., in the reply was very telling. I don't know if Mary S. is the owner and that isn't important to me. If she is, I wish she had called back and I wouldn't be here now. All I wanted from the owner of this establishment was assurance that they would do what was necessary to avoid this happening again. Since the owner of the establishment didn't return my call, I am now in the position of how much of my free time I can spend in posting negative reviews about the business. I will at least post on a few sites and it's a shame because all of this could have been avoided. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for somewhere to bring my one year old Yorkie to get a much needed haircut. I looked at reviews for different groomers on Yelp and took a look at Fuzzy Dawgs website which looked like a great place to go. They could fit me in that Saturday so I went for it. The staff was very welcoming when we arrived which made me feel comfortable when I left. Once i picked Parker up after his groom and brought him home he wouldn't stop licking his front paw, then i noticed blood on myself, my couch and my carpet. His nail had been cut much too short and wouldn't stop bleeding! This is why I will not cut them myself and I pay professionals to do it! I called and they advised me what to do. About an hour later I noticed a large cut behind his ear! Now I feel horrible as well as upset because obviously Parker was helpless in the situation.. I knew the owners name was Mary from the website and I was finally able to get in touch with her the following week. She said she was shocked and wasn't sure what to do or how to handle my complaint. They noted the toe nail incident in their system but had nothing about the cut. I know the cut came from his groom because Parker stays in a cage all day when I am not home to supervise him. This cut is deep enough that it could very well get infected. As of now we are waiting it out to see what happens. I personally would not bring either of my 2 dogs here again. They didn't seem to want to take responsibility for the mistake and I don't feel comfortable putting my dog in a position in which pain is inflicted on him. I have taken Parker to a few other groomers and never experienced either of the issues that I did at Fuzzy Dawg. Not recommended! read more

Please do not bring your dog to Mary @ Fuzzy Dawg. She groomed my standard poodle for years & when my dog hit her senior years, 14-16 she required more time for grooming & thus Mary did not want to deal with her. In April I adopted a 4 year old standard who had been neglected & abused. He is a sweet sweet dog who just needs an adjustment time. Needless to say, Mary did a 1/2 way job on him, charged me the full amount & looked like I had done his haircut at home. She is greedy trying to pack as many dogs into her appointment book as possible, thus not giving the amount of time required to groom each pet. Dogs are like our children & should be left in the care of someone who will treat them his own, that person isn't Mary. read more

My favorite groomer is 35 minutes away from me so I tried the fuzzy dog because it is close to my home.....won't make that mistake again . I am extremely disappointed in my recent interaction with the Fuzzy Dog. I called and scheduled an appointment to have my golden retriever and beagle groomed prior to having family in town for the holiday weekend. I was able to book a time with them and crossed it off my list of to-do's before everyone arrived. I drop off my dogs at the Fuzzy dog and they said they will call when they are done. Great! So I head home, only to hit the driveway and get a call that they cannot take care of my Golden because she is in the cage, gnawing and making her mouth bleed. OK, thanks for telling me about the concern, but my feeling are they are a groomer and they do not have an alternative for a dog that is uncomfortable in a crate. The only solution is to send my dog home, dirty, smelly and unbathed, which is what I am PAYING them to take care of for me. When I get there I request my other dog also as I do not have time in my schedule to keep running back and forth to the groomer. They had NO problem with me taking both my dogs, which just told me they must have overbooked themselves and needed to clear up their schedule. I checked my dogs mouth when I picked her up and I did not see ANY cuts or bleeding. Sounds to me like a Golden Retriever was too much work for them this particular day. I was able to call another groomer closer to my home and they were able to take care of my dogs within the hour. That was great! I will never return to the Fuzzy dog! If you choose to use them, just know there is no guarantee your dog will be groomed, you should always have a backup plan when dealing with the Fuzzy Dog. read more

I had been going to the same groomer for 15 years. For some reason he just disappered.... I take my Beardie in for grooming once a month. I took him to my regular place to see the "new" groomer. It was an awful experience. So I stopped in to the Fuzzy Dawg, looking for a new place for my furry boys. Mary met my Beardie, Murphy and was very sweet with him. Brought my Yorkie in for a shampoo but mainly for a mini trim ( meaning I wanted her face trimmed and nails cut} . I was very disappointed with how she looked. Her face was not touched since the owner said my dog didn't like being touched near her face. This may be true but all the groomer I used before this always did a great job. I only went to the Fuzzy Dog since it is so close to my house, but I'll never return to them. I'll drive the extra miles and have my dog looking like she was just groomed. They may be fast but it shows on the grooming of the dog, at least it showed on my dog. read more

We've used The Fuzzy Dawg twice and have been very pleased. Our border collie/terrier mix needs a seasonal trim and she has come away looking great both times. Scheduling was easy and both times they were finished within the promised time frame. The groomers have been very sweet and obviously care about the dogs. It's also very clean. We just moved to the area & needed to find a new groomer for our two Shih-tzu's, Bella & Abby. We met Meg in a social setting & as she welcomed us to the area, she also asked if we had dogs and would need a new groomer. We were so happy to be able to take our dogs to someone we had at least met and talked to as opposed to dropping them off to perfect strangers. Meg followed our instructions and we were extremely happy with the way our girls looked when we picked them up. We picked them up on time and I'm happy to say no more expensive than what we paid when we lived in Virginia. But, most importantly, Bella & Abby were happy and we were happy with the experience. I don't know what to say about this salon. I have been trying to get in since Christmas, but they are constantly on a two week delay. I get from reviews that they are in demand, but the wait is ridiculous. CLEARLY they have a staffing issue. Some think that the wait to get in is due to quality, but I suspect it is due to a lack of staff. I will be choosing anther groomer. read more
