I was pleasantly surprised to find this coffee shop (with food!) on my route back to Sacramento area from Mendocino. This location is in Clearlake Oaks on the north side of the lake. This is the Catfish Coffee 2 and it's only a few months old. (I've never been to the first location) The menu offers a range of coffee, espresso, and milkshakes. They also serve lunch including panini sandwiches, hot dogs and salads. (See photo of menu boards) I had a mocha and ordered a #1 Chicken pesto panini to go. Both items were good, not mind blowing, but I'd definitely return. In fact I'm relieved to know there is something besides fast food along that road- Because I plan on returning soon for some wine tasting at all the tempting wineries in Lake County! Perfect place to stop on a rainy day. There are two locations; one in Clear Lake and this one in Clear Lake Oaks. They have a parking lot on the side. This is a cozy, local business with friendly staff. The WiFi is free with a purchase. They have Paninins, salads, hot dogs milk shakes, smoothies and of course, coffee beverages which is why I stopped in today. They use a responsibly sourced coffee called Dean's Beans. I ordered a large Loca Mocha which has 4 shots, mocha, breve with whipped cream for $5.25. I was pleased it was not scalding hot and I didn't have to wait 20 minutes to drink. Very creamy, and mildly chocolate. They have a pretty extensive milkshake menu that I would like to come back and try. They are only open until 5:00 pm. read more

Stopped in here for coffee before we headed out for the day. What a terrific place. The counter person (and barista) was very personable and inviting. And, she quickly pointed out that they had various other non-dairy offerings beyond soy milk. The drinks were quite good, and hot but not so hot that you had to wait 20 minutes before you could take a sip. We had such a frustrating time just trying to find this restaurant, come to find out that their sign for some reason outside the restaurant says Stormy G's and when we went inside and asked the women behind the counter if this was Catfish Coffee she said yes it was. Started and ended our day here while doing a big bike ride in the area. Super friendly and helpful staff let us park there and were even open late and very friendly when we returned wet and cold 5 hours later. We were very thankful for hot coffee and chocolate before driving home. The espresso was not good- but typical of this kind of cafe (and only $1/shot). It could be a town-wide thing, but there were a lot of tweekers hanging out. Staff seemed to know some and seemed comfortable around them, so they might not pose a real threat but we were nervous parking our cars in the area and kept a close watch on our bikes while in the cafe. Oh man. If I lived anywhere near this place, it would be my regular one-stop-shop. We were passing through this part of CA allll the way from NC and I am so glad we stopped in (6-28-2020). What a gem. From the charming setting to the bangin Buddy himself, we loved everything about it. The decor was lovely, we read all the stickers and looked at the fun artwork/knick.knacks while waiting for the yummies. So good. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and my breakfast sandwich really hit the spot. Can't beat that real sausage, plus my drink was amazing. This coffee shop never disappoints! I probably come in and get a coffee with a panini at least 2x a week a day its always good. I only left a 3 star review because of the sanitary conditions here. It appears to be clean but have noticed several times the "male" appearing to be the owner would not wash his hands when he made my food. And I was thinking "okay, well they must already be clean." But not exactly if he is handling money at the register in between. I will be more careful now because if covid. Might just have to go with a coffee now. If you read this please just wash your hands i really like this place. read more

Just stopped at Buddy's Coffee for lunch while coming home from a camping trip. All I can say is...OUTSTANDING! Had their hot dog and my husband had the chili dog. Food was hot, fresh and extremely tasty. They even let us bring our dogs in out of the cold. Service was prompt and friendly as soon as we got in the door. Next time, I'm ordering the roast beef sandwich with pepper Jack, horse radish sauce and onions. I bet it will be delicious too. This place changed hands, received an aqua colored paint job and is now known as Stormi G's Coffee and Tea. I haven't been here for a couple of months so wasn't aware of the change in ownership. I was trying to find someplace to get a lox and bagel sandwich without luck so was going to at least have a bagel and cream cheese. I was very pleasantly surprised that a lox and bagel sandwich is now on the menu! It was served open faced on a bed of undressed spring greens. It comes with cucumber, tomato, red onion, capers and your choice of bagel. The cucumber, tomato and onion are sliced and served on the side so you can add as much or as little of each as you choose. Open faced is a bit messier to eat. The lox were a little saltier with the bagel served open. The tomato was fresh and tasty. I normally forego the tomatoes as I'm picky about my tomatoes! The total came to $7.45 with tax. I will be back for more lox and bagels! Sometimes change can be a good thing. read more
