Old Bay Wings ( Terrible. Some jerk, some from 2 days ago, maybe 2 old bay)
    Jerran N.

Welp, instagram pulled another fast one on me. I stopped in on a Saturday night around 11:10. The first thing I asked when walking in was what time does the kitchen close. Immediately I'm told 12. I quickly ordered the old bay wings and fries. I got my wife a drink. Approximately 15 minutes later the food one. 7 wings and fries for $18. The wings were TRASH. Some overcooked, some tasted like jerk, some tasted like 2 days ago, and maybe 1 or two tasted like old bay. The fries were great though. I tried to order another set of fries at 11:44. Guess what? Kitchen is now closed. I looked at the bartender and asked him, didn't you tell me 12 when I walked in the door. He raises his hands with the IDK what to tell you. The drink was strong. Not sure what it was but definitely had my wife feeling nice. They weren't stingy on the alcohol. Overall I won't be back. I really wanted to like this neighborhood spot but the wings being so bad and the lies about the kitchen rubbed me the wrong way. I told my friend that I went here and she shared the same type of expierence. One and done for me.

Coordinated my bday happy hour at buddy's and we had a great time. Communication leading up to the event was smooth. We arrived as has an area set aside area for my guest which was neat. Service was great, food was great, and the cocktails were delicious!! We would all recommend coming here for happy hour or dinner!!

Came here for a cocktail mixology class and had the best time! The owners were involved and the other attendees were fun and lively. It's definitely an environment where you can freely had fun over a great meal. This is a neighborhood bar that we've always wanted to stop in. It's a black-owned business with elevated bites, good music, and amazing drinks. The Caesar we had in particular was fresh and flavorful! Can't wait to make this our local go-to.

10/10. The wait staff, the drinks, the fricken food! Omg everything was incredible! This was our first visit and we attended a birthday brunch, complete with musical bingo. The brunch spread - just wow. Literally everything we ate was incredible. My favorite bites? The creamy grits + shrimp, the candied (THICK) bacon, and the deviled eggs. I don't know if these items are regular menu items or only brunch but my goodness - I'm strongly considering hosting a brunch here in the future. It's also black owned, so that's a bonus. Outside? Lots of outdoor patio space. Inside? Not so much. It's your typical sports bar sized corner spot with lots of TVs to enjoy games. I'll be back for sure!

Buddy's is an amazing bar with great food and drinks. We loved all the food we had including an apple cinnamon egg roll, fish and chips, deviled eggs, and old bay wings that we enjoyed with a Dewey Beach Swishy Pants beer while watching the Eagles play the Rams in January for the NFL playoffs.

I like this low key spot! Such a cute little place with nice service. They have a diverse menu with good prices. I got the nachos with beef and ate every bite lol, they were so delicious! Everyone tried a little bit of everything and no one had any complaints. We stopped by randomly with a party of 6 and they were able to take us and get our food out in a timely manner. Gotta come back with my husband.

Nice vibe! Came in to watch the game and enjoy some good food. The gumbo was crazy and the crabby patty was amazing!

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. The food specials ended at 7 while the drink specials continued until 8, so I was a little bummed to miss out on that. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it. Chowder came out pretty much right on top of my salad, but no big deal. Chowder was decent taste, but only found one clam. Ok whatever. It was so rare, that it was extremely hard to cut through, but again, who was I going to talk to about it. No wait staff would even look my way. As the name would suggest, the dynamic of this place caters to degenerates who are looking to bathe themselves in cheap beer, and whiskey, and of course chicken wings. It's like the business model of this place was designed for those who were torn between getting a case of beer and some take out and watching the game on their couch or going to a bar. Aesthetically and functionally it would be credible that bar stool sports owned this bar as well as the underlying ethos of how it conducts business. The beer Shot combos at this spot are frankly unsurpassable from a price and value point. Pro tip: leave your girlfriend at home, this place is not for her. She will resent you after learning that this place has replaced your incumbent place of worship as well as for observing the sheer joy on your face when you realize in earnest the simplicity of the business model and how much you love it: Criminally cheap beer as well as shot combos, greasy chicken wings, chicken tenders, french fries, Sports TVs.
