Tried Buddys off of many recommendations from friends in the area. Ordered takeout, process was easy online and order was ready when I arrived but this location seemed short staffed or were busy with other guests so I ended up waiting 10 or so minutes to actually be handed the orders. Understandably, it was a Saturday night so they likely were busy. Their pizza was good for a chain, it is all Detroit style. Toppings were generous. I also really liked the fried vegetable appetizer. The pastas and other dishes looked great, would try those next time instead of a pizza.

My experience with Detroit style pizza up to this point has been imited to Little Caesars deep dish and Jett's. All to say I'm not expert, but I loved the pizza here. I had the Detroit public TV. The crust could have been browned just a bit more but was otherwise perfect. A1 service too.

While traveling for work, decided to get some authentic Detroit style pizza since it's not available in my southern state. After seeing good reviews, I decided to try this place. I must say that it lived up to the hype! The service was quick and friendly, with our food being pretty quick also. The ambiance was a pub, but we went around 5pm and it was pretty quiet. The pizza was phenomenal and I highly recommend it to anyone! The salads are pretty large also.

I downloaded the Buddy's Pizza app and got a free pizza, so Nate and I stopped in recently to grab some food. The restaurant was pretty busy but we got a high top table near the bar. The offer in the app was good for a 1 topping 4 corner pizza, and we ordered a side of Buddy sticks and an "individual" serving Caesar salad. The menu states that a "medium" salad serves 3-5 people, so we figured (correctly) that the individual size would be fine for the two of us to share with our other food. We arrived around 7:30 and Buddy's has an evening happy hour that starts at 8 pm, so Nate held off on ordering a beer... more on this later. The breadsticks and salad came out first. The breadsticks were hot and fresh, and a decent portion. I found them to be okay, they were a little doughy. The salad was kind of disappointing - it was fresh but was pretty underdressed, which was weird to me, as I feel like most places use way too much dressing. I got my greens in for the day, though. The portion was definitely perfect for the two of us to share. The pizza came out and I was a little surprised at how short it was - I'm used to Jet's pizza which is quite a bit taller. However, I really liked the crust to topping ratio with the thinner crust. The cheese was so melty and delicious, and the sauce was tangy and not super sweet. The crust was crisp and held up to the gooey cheese. I still think Buddy's pizza is way better than Jet's! The other items were less impressive, but you can't beat a free pizza. Nate did end up ordering his beer after 8 pm, which our server forgot about for a bit, but we weren't in a big rush. When the bill arrived, we noticed that it wasn't the discounted happy hour price, but we thought probably the free pizza was meant to be the only discount per bill. Either way, it wasn't a big deal, but something to keep in mind or ask about if you're there during happy hour and getting a free pizza. Buddy's is pretty far from home but worth a visit if you're craving Detroit style pizza. It's still the best chain version in town, in my opinion. (For a local option, check out Quarantino's!)

Classic Michigan Detroit style pizza! Long considered one of our signature restaurants by those out of state. And it Definately hits all the great spots for Detroit style pies. Dig the aroma outside and I dare you to try to prevent yourself from going in!!! Service was amazingly quick. Spacious and clean eating area. They also have limited Italian fare and burgers as well for those not in a pizza mood Also mixed drinks available. Glad we went!

New to Michigan. Buddy's came highly recommended by a few people. It's good, but it's not Jets. Lots of toppings. Good flavor. But it's not Jets. Crust is average but it's not Jets. Cost of an 8 corners is about $8 more than, you guessed it Jets! Are you sensing a theme? Not even close to Jets. I flirted with a new place but Jets gets my future business 100% of the time.

I grew up on Buddy's so having one closer is great. I'm still shocked meeting lifelong Michiganders who don't know what Detroit style pizza is?!?! Get yourself to Buddy's. Get a pizza. Brick cheese is the way to go imo. Antipasto salad for those of us who prefer a high non-vegetable to vegetable ratio in a salad. Also just tried the veggie sampler appetizer which is not a health choice but very delicious and trust when I sat Get the ranch.

    Detroit Style.

From out of town and decided to try our first Detroit style pizza and this place didn't disappoint. We ordered the four corners and it was perfect. We also ordered the Gluten Free as two on our group have celiac and they didn't leave a bite behind and said it was excellent.

8 square pizza with bacon, onion, and green pepper

The prices were incredibly high for one 8 square pizza with 3 toppings and an antipasto salad. Probably because of the novelty of "Detroit-style pizza"? The toppings and sauce seemed dumped on the pizza in such a way that some slices barely had any. Plus, the toppings were sparse-perhaps cut too small/thinly? The slices were also cut very unevenly, making it a little difficult to divide slices between 4 adults. However, everything was very good. I wish the cheese/edges were a little more crispy/caramelized , but other than that the flavors were really tasty.

We've gotten plenty of takeout from Quarantino's over the years, but only recently stopped by to dine in. We were greeted right away and got to choose a nice booth by the window. The menu is concise and features their delicious Detroit style pizza. I was starving so we ended up ordering quite a bit to have leftovers - the kale Caesar salad, one of the weekly feature pizzas, and the Quarantino's deluxe. The salad is one of my favorites - it's made with curly kale and topped with crunchy kettle potato chips. It's always good and makes for great leftovers because it's so hearty. Our pizzas came out shortly after our salad was finished and they were delicious. Their crust is perfection - fluffy but chewy and crispy in the right places. I personally love their red sauce the most because it's savory, and not overly sweet. The toppings on the deluxe were plentiful and high quality. The special pizza rotates weekly(ish) and this one had 'nduja, ramp aioli, and shredded potato. Plus lots of cheese. Their specials are always inventive and sound so tasty. Our server was super fun and awesome to chat with. I really liked him, he brought such a big smile to my face. The place was packed full of people (a sign of a great restaurant) and while I sat and waited over fifteen minutes past my pickup time, I watched people come in, be told it will be a few minutes and then their receipt/order gets pulled and then taken to the back, like mine was. Almost as if they don't bother making the pizza until you show up? Anyway, we picked up our pizza and bread and headed out. I was surprised at the small box that contained both the pizza AND the bread; I got into the car and opened it and laughed. The pizza was small, the bread was small. I was surprised at how little food there was. Oh well! Lesson learned. We took it back to our hotel and fed the kids. The pizza looked delicious, but was just ok. The cheese bread looked amazing - and then I bit into it. Dill. Why is there dill on the cheese bread? Overall, it was an experience. Nothing terrible, nothing great. Nate and I have had their food twice now - once was a complimentary pizza order during their soft opening period, and we just ordered delivery over a lazy holiday weekend. We got the supreme pizza and cheesy bread on our most recent order, and have also tried the caprese salad and rustica pizza. The menu includes lots of options beyond pizza - appetizers, subs, wraps, salads, pasta, stromboli, and dessert! They have vegan cheese and cauliflower crust options too. Online ordering is quick and easy through the Franca's Pizzeria website, and I like that they use their own delivery drivers. The charge for delivery was only $4 which isn't bad, especially considering all the upcharges for third-party delivery services these days. I ordered ahead for a later time and it arrived a few minutes early. All the food was hot and fresh. The supreme pizza has ham, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green pepper, and onion. The hand tossed crust is a medium thickness, but they also have thick crust as an option. The toppings were plentiful and fresh, and I loved the sausage. The sauce is not overly sweet, so it gets a thumbs up from me. The cheesy bread is really good! It's not super tough or crunchy, I like that it's pillowy in the middle. You can get extra cheese, but I thought the regular amount was plenty. We also loved the caprese salad - it was super fresh, with a nice amount of fresh mozzarella and dressed nicely. It was nice to have a bit of a healthy side to go with our tasty pizza. Franca's rates slightly above Peppino's for me (my other favorite local pizza spot), mostly due to their unique toppings and specialty pizza combinations. I'm super intrigued by the campagnola: margherita sauce, caramelized mushrooms and onions, sausage, bleu cheese, tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. The Foolery came up on Yelp and figured we could not go wrong with pizza to feed our starving children. They have a great selection of Detroit style pizzas here. We didn't feel like being adventurous so went with the pepperoni. I've always loved Detroit style pizzas due to the thicker crust that's crispy on the sides and The Foolery passed the assignment. Pizza was really good! And as a Chicagoan, that means a lot! The size of the pizza is a little small - but you get 6 slices so if you're hungry or got a big group to feed, I would plan accordingly. Remember Detroit style is a rectangle pie, not circular like a standard whole pizza. We got the Elote dip as an appetizer and it was a clever take on one of my favorite Mexican snacks. It came with elote corn and chips on the side. Like I said, clever and not bad! Our server that day was awesome. We had a group of about 13 people and they just had small pub tables that fit 4 people each. But no problem because he was willing to organize the whole front room and put 4 of those tables side by side to accommodate all of us. He did it happily and without complaints.
