This company is horrible. I have a home in San Francisco and had a salesman from Budget Blinds named David come out to discuss new blinds. He came to my place to measure and give me a quote on blinds throughout my property. He claimed parking was too difficult for him (so he says. I think laziness was more the issue). He parked in the loading dock and asked me to come down to show me samples. I did meet him at the loading dock. He had no real samples to show me, didn't have any measurements of my windows and promised to follow up with me the next day. Of course he did not. No call, no email nothing. Very disappointed with this company and this consultant in particular. Don't waste your time and resources on such a unprofessional company and if you do ask to meet with anyone other than David! read more

After our move, we received a number of coupons in the mail for furniture and stuff that included Budget Blinds. I read the reviews and was fully expecting a long delay due to supply chain issues or labor shortages. After having to reschedule our walkthrough a few times due to unforeseen circumstances, we were assigned David to do the walkthrough. David is a subject matter expert extraordinaire had we had a quick call about what I was looking for before the visit. On the day of, he brought over samples of the blinds we had discussed and completed all the measurements. He even took the time to measure the elevator to validate the fit! We completed the sales transaction at my home before he left and he provided an ETA on the blinds. Superb customer service. The installers called me to schedule the appointment exactly as predicted. They provided a range and ended up postponing a few times before arriving that day. The installer removed our old blinds and replaced with the new Hunter Douglas blackout blinds. They installed it in the existing holes so the visit took 15 - 20 mins. Later that evening, we discovered that evening that the new blinds were flush against the window and would rub against the window screen. I reached out to David and he helped us arrange a return visit from the installer to correct the issue. He also assured us that our purchase was under warranty. I didn't shop around for the best deal so I can't be certain this was the best price point. I do know that David is extremely knowledgeable and we are thrilled with our motorized blackout shades! read more

I have posted a couple pictures comparing my old blinds to my new ones. The old are on the top (you can see how transparent and ill-fitting they are compared to the bottom new shades from Budget Blinds). I opted for the Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades with the Powerview controller. It's amazing and makes a world of difference. You may not realize what an impact shades can have until you replace them! Brett Jones was wonderful to work with. Installers were efficient and professional. They also come with PPE to make sure to keep your home clean and safe. We did some quote comparisons with Costco, the Hunter Douglas store, and 3-day blinds. They couldn't match the quality and price that Budget Blinds offered. I highly recommend them!! read more

OK so I want to start off by saying I completely understand Covid has definitely hit some businesses hard and things are far from normal. But my experience with Budget Blinds was far from stellar and if you look through the rest of the reviews on here enough, I think you'll see that what happened to me has happened before. I called up the store in early-August after finding them on Yelp. I set up an initial consultation with Brett, their main manager, and he came over, took measurements, told me everything I thought I needed to know about blinds and was just overall super professional and great. This happened on August 12. He told me he would follow up with quotes via email. It was a week later and hadn't heard anything so I emailed Brett and received no response. I called the store and they told me that Brett was busy but would get back to me ASAP. Finally after multiple phone calls I got an email on August 27 with a quote. We had a back and forth over email that day and he asked me some further questions about what I wanted. I responded and even offered to get on a phone call to discuss further. On Sept 2 I sent an email saying "Do you have any updates? We move in Saturday and would like to get this shades situation figured out soon." I called them several times after that and kept hearing the same response "Brett is so busy but I'm going to send him a message and he will get back to you soon!" I even texted Brett asking him for updates but never heard a word. Well it's October 15 and I have no idea where they are. I found another company and I'm now using them for my new shades, but I was just frustrated with Budget Blinds because I took time out of my day to meet Brett and let him in my house and email and call them back and forth and all they did was totally ignore me. If they were too busy, they could have just said they can't help me, but stringing me along for a month was ridiculous. Don't waste your time here! read more

Given that many things are not working as well lately, I wasn't expecting the great experience that I had with Budget Blinds-- from Brett, their window treatment consultant, to communication with their office, and with the installers. All are knowledgeable, skilled, efficient, and so pleasant to work with. My older, but lovely slat blinds were not doing the trick of blocking out too much street light into my bedroom throughout the night. I am definitely sleeping better with the new black out blinds ( available in a variety of colors) which can be motorized so upon wakening one can quickly bring in am light from bed. So I get that covid hit companies hard but this experience so far has been rather unacceptable. We ordered our blinds with David back in December of 2021. They arrived and early February but the measurements for half of them were off and couldn't be installed. They came and remeasured and told us it would be about 2.5 weeks to get the reorder. If they came at the estimated point I wouldn't have taken issue with the mismeasurement since mistakes can happen. It's now over a month and a half has passed and David hasn't replied to emails, texts, and phone calls left over the past 3 weeks. We have been left we half the windows with a completely different shade and one window with no blinds at all. If they even gave us an update on if it arrived or not when we asked they would be getting a better rating. We just want our blinds and are struggling to get any support from them. read more

A well-earned 5 stars for BB and our consultant David. We had to outfit our entire home with new window treatments, and David was incredibly helpful in giving us both a complete understanding of all our options, how to work within our budget, and even more importantly, what would work best in our space. Of all the window treatment people I spoke with, David was the only one willing to make a couple visits to our place and get on the phone with some quick questions. And when we ran into some production issues and errors on the manufacturer's end due to covid, he always kept us in the loop on when we could expect our replacements. We're super happy with the products we selected. Their shades and blinds are much higher quality than the usual stuff you see in big box home improvement stores. The sales rep, George, showed up at our home on time, was friendly and knowledgable. We had a good meeting and he said he would send me an official quote via email........I never heard from him again. DAYS AND WEEKS WENT BY, never got the quote via email. I called their office 3-4x and was told to leave him a msg. Its been 3 weeks now and I still haven't heard from him or their office regarding my order. Totally unprofessional. I contacted them and received a response within 24 hours with a date and time for an in person consultation with Angelica McClurkan. I cannot say enough about Angelica and her level of engagement- prior to, during and follwing the installation - to ensure I was satisfied and comfortable with everything. The day she arrived, she came prepared with all the necessary examples for a full presentation to aide me in narrowing my choices. If you are unfamiliar with all of the nuances as it relates to window treatments (i.e, hard, soft, drapes, sheer, valances, etc.) this initial process can be extremely overwhelming. Angelica McClurkan is who you absolutely want to work with during this process. She is patient and offers all of her recommendations while also listening to your individual needs. I changed my mind more than I care to share and I know this had to be annoying. But she was always pleasant and more than willing to accomodate. The shades look absolute spectacular and I am so pleased with the outcome. I contacted a competitor prior to reaching out to Budget Blind - and that company was a diaster - So it all worked out. Brett and his team are fantastic! I recently moved to new home in Noe Valley and Brett came in and designed/installed blinds for the entire house. All was installed perfectly and any issues that came up during the process were addressed in a timely manner. Also Brett is very knowledgeable about material/fabrics and styles and was super helpful in picking up the designs and fabric to match the house and rooms. I have ordered 3 Lutron Serena shades from Budget Blinds and they have been incredibly easy to work with. We even had some quality issues with the shades that came in (scratches from factory) and they hung them and then ordered replacements. This happened twice and they kept coming back to install, all free of charge. Also just in case you're wondering, they open the box at your house, not in their warehouse. We have a complicated situation where we have a window over a partially covered staircase (that won't hold weight) and they were able to navigate it without issue. I would highly recommend Brett and Troy at BudgetBlinds. I just moved into a new apartment that has floor-to-ceiling windows and I was looking for options. I did some Yelp research and decided to give BudgetBlinds a try. I had some time that day so I did a random drop-in to their office. Troy helped me and gave me lots of samples. He was very friendly and professional even though it was just a random drop-in. He gave good suggestions to try out and said that he would bring more samples to the apartment when he came on-site. When they came on site, Troy and Brett were very precise with the measurements and recommendations. There was a particular style of Hunter Douglass shades that I wanted but after measuring it properly (it was just about an inch short), they were upfront and said that it won't work. Instead, they recommended other shades that would work -- and I'm very happy with the alternative recommendations. I ended up with the Hunter Douglass Silhouette and Draper Dual Roller Shades. I purchased the shades and waited a few weeks for them to arrive. After a few weeks, the shades arrived. Heeren and Brett showed up to install them. The installation was smooth, quick, and professional. I'm very happy with shades and the service that I received. First there was Brett, then Liza. Both of them totally useless and unprofessional.We made an appointment to get window treatments for our new house. Brett came to our house and measured everything, we have chosen the fabric and everything looked great but then he just vanished. Did not return the phone calls, or emails. When it happened with Brett i thought may be something happened to him and we wanted to give them another chance. The second sales person - Liza Tu came and did the same thing - measured everything , found a good looking fabric for window treatment. She promised to call and email so we can finalize transaction but like the first time around NOTHING happened. Incredibly unreliable business. According to other reviews we were not the only ones who got ignored. I gave them another chance but it's enough. Great service. I needed new drapes for a house I am renting out in SF. I don't live in SF and it is tricky for me to schedule time to go down there. Budget Blinds worked with me to accommodate my schedule somewhat last minute and arranged to come see me while at the house while I happened to be in town. Brett came for the in-person consultation and he was very knowledgeable. I wanted the new drapes to be pretty similar to the originals (which were old and worn out) and he helped me find a near match for much less than we had paid for the originals.He was also communicative through email after that as we worked out the details of the purchase. What everyone needs to realize is that when dealing with items that need to be measured and then manufactured off site, there is always room for margins in error. Many times there can be alterations or adjustments after the first installation. So when dealing with companies like this, I always wait until after the final installation and approval by me the customer, before I ever take out my "sword" and post anything on social media. Just remember, what's important isn't what has happened, it is how you react to whatever has happened. Saying that, there were issues upon the first installation. Without getting into all of the details because they are not what we should focus on, let's get into the response and how these issues were handled. The owner reached out and inquired as to how he could resolve any issues. He came out and personally took involvement into his company, accessed that challenges, and offered to make things right so I as his customer would be 100% satisfied. We recently bought our first house, and wanted to get window treatments that looked a lot nicer than the standard IKEA blinds I'd come to expect in all my rentals. On a friend's recommendation, I called Budget Blinds. I sent an email to the general address listed on their website and they scheduled a consultation immediately -- coming over a scant two days after I first inquired. Jasen spent a good amount of time with us, going through the various options of different kinds of blinds, reviewing materials and color, and guiding us gently until we sorted out what we needed for every area in our house. We wrote a check for the full amount and per Jasen, expected to hear back in a few days about the timeline. Alas, we never heard back. I called about four days later to inquire, then followed up later that day with an email, and got a long, apologetic email from Brett (Jasen's partner) outlining when our various window treatments were expected to arrive and assurance that they would call to schedule installation once all parts were received. Nearly three weeks later (about a week after his estimates for when items should have arrived) and I still hadn't heard a peep. I called again, and got a rambling message back that (I think) said that some, but not all, window treatments had arrived and we can schedule installation. Four weeks later, and our window treatments are here and Budget Blinds have installed them. They look spectacular and I must admit they were well worth the price tag and wait to have them custom fit to our home. However, Budget Blinds only gets three stars because of their lack of communication. Definitely something they need to work on. I would recommend this service, but only w/ the caveat that you may have to chase them down to nail down a timeline. read more

Budget Blinds installed office blinds for three 5ft x 6ft windows we have at our new office in SOMA. They came out quickly for the estimate, gave us a few pricing options, and then when we were ready to have them install, they set up the time and did a fast nice job on installation. Everything was smooth, and the price was totally affordable. All that would have been five stars, but here's where things got especially awesome. After a couple weeks we noticed the blinds blocked a weird warehouse-style latch on our windows that neither us nor the installer saw originally, because it had been cold as fuck and nobody opens weird, warehouse-style windows, during the winter. We called them and told them, expecting to have to pay to switch to a different style of blinds. Instead, they came and took down the blinds, ordered more parts, re-made a different attachment, and then came back and installed the new ones FOR FREE. It was really over-the-top nice, and they were cool about the whole thing. read more
