JC is new and didn't hesitate to ask for and get assistance from Jason. I am in town for a funeral, but they didn't know that. The lite banter and smiles were so welcomed and needed. They explained coverages and options but without the heavy sales pitch and pressure to add anything. The vehicle I left with was just I wanted and matches my personality to a tee! In the midst of loss, these two really made my day. I am so grateful for this experience.

I needed to be in the area for business reasons. So the next morning I took it to Daytona beach airport. The gentleman at the desk said they only had one car available which was a Mitsubishi Mirage. However online it clearly stated there were 42 vehicles available. We went out to the car and it was banged up on all sides even the roof and the wipers were broken and falling off the windshield. I immediately went back in asked for help and he said he couldn't help me and that it's normal for a truck to have stiff steering and shaking. I then walked down to Avis where they helped me get a newer more safe car that was cheaper than Alamo. HORRIBLE RENTALS, HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE PRICES. After it was said and don't they charged me 81 dollars for the less than 24 hour unsafe rental. I then contacted customer service again and a young lady called me and was extremely kind and said she would make sure the truck was not available to any other customers before it is service and refunded me the money. However I don't think I'll ever rent from Alamo again. That's insane that Alamo offers unsafe cars to paying customers.

I've gotten rentals from Hertz in the past with an existing small crack on the windshield, and was never charged for it. $455 for a new windshield (or repair) is the additional amount I was charged for my reservation, and the employee who charged me this put on the incident report that the vehicle is not drivable. This is completely bogus. I am a loyalty gold member and used Hertz for years. Never ever has anything like this happened to me. Hertz lost another customer.

And when I say staffed that's between National, Enterprise, and Alamo. There is a wait sometimes and others I'm the only one there which is always a plus. The staff are always nice and courteous. The car selections are limited and I'm guessing based on status you may get an upgrade. Both time I came here I was given a Nissan Altima. For what I requested that's an upgrade. I usually request a compact car because I'm cheap. So getting a larger car is nice. It is confusing where to return the car so I just park in one of the open parking spots that say National/Enterprise/Alamo. Returning the car means taking the keys back to the front counter and handing it back or putting the key in a drop box after hours. I feel like the expectation I have for National is appropriate for the type of airport. Small, understaffed, and a limited selection of cars. I am biased to National since I've been renting from them for about 10 years. So I'll give them a break and give them 5 stars for this location.

In late April 2025 we rented a Nissan Sentra from Dollar Rental at the Daytona Beach Airport. The service at the counter was fine, the car was in good condition, and we drove from the airport to see our family. Right before returning the car, as we always do, we filled up with gas and threw out any wrappers or empty water bottles at the gas station. We returned the car clean and filled up - parked it in the lot and dropped the keys off with the staff at the counter - and then boarded our flight home. When we landed an extra charge was reported on my credit card for $100.01 for "interior cleaning." I tried to get someone on the phone, but the only way to reach this company is through an online form. I wrote that we returned the car clean and filled up and asked that the charge was lifted and / or for someone to contact me to explain. Three days later I received an email saying that the rental staff said they had to clean pet hair out of the car. I explained that we don't own pets, clearly did not travel with pets, and that we returned the car clean. They just responded to me (by email, again) with the exact same message about pet hair and that "We completely understand a customer may not wash or vacuum the vehicle prior to returning it to remove normal road grime, etc. However, other similar impurities require more time and detail to remove. In such instances, Dollar will assess a cleaning fee." This is absolutely crazy as we do not own any pets and did not travel with any pets, so the idea of "other similar impurities" (what is that?) is so frustrating. The terms and conditions for Dollar indicates that renters may be charged fess for cleaning that goes above "standard cleaning," which is fair. But cleaning up after a pet that doesn't exist means that above "standard cleaning" is something insane. "Standard cleaning" is also not defined. Don't rent here. I'm still trying to resolve this with Dollar and my credit card company is also trying. This is the first time I have ever written a review on Yelp, or any other site. This is also the first time I have ever sent in a complaint about a company. Do not rent here.

After attempting to vacuum up the spiders we got the majority of them to safely get to the rental location. When we got there, there were no cars available to exchange. We were told that the airport location had one and was holding it for us, but we had to get a Uber there. Once we got there, we ended up getting the same lady, and again, she was very rude, disrespectful and refused to help us. Called roadside, they would not help us due to the fact that we left the vehicle at the other location, per their instructions. We were stranded! All other companies did not have cars available at the time either. 5 hours later, 4 hours at the airport, one of the other companies finally had an available vehicle. There are more issues to this nightmare, I could write a book. At the end...I WILL NEVER USE BUDGET AGAIN.
