Random little Budget in a strip mall, bonus points that they are open on Sunday for a few hours! The operation seemed very bare bones, so much so they didn't do a walk through with us, they just told us any pre existing damages and then had us take a look on our own. The gas was a quarter full which is fine but when we returned the car with half a tank, we were charged $84 for gas. That just created a hassle with contacting, uploading documentation or not. I don't know who helped us since it was literally a transaction of just giving my license and credit card over. However, another bonus is that we booked a reservation for a RAV4 or something of the like and got a Lexus SUV, no complains there. read more

I've used Avis for a long long time- no more. My last experience I rented a car to drive approx 800 miles up north. The first 5 hours of the trip were in pouring rain and the car hydroplaned 4 times during that time- in the middle of 2 enclosed lanes under construction etc on I35- harrowing to say the least. When I got up towards Wichita, I also had the low tire pressure light come on. I stopped when I could to check that tire and then noticed that while that one was at 28 two others were at 44 and one was at 33. I put air in that tire and thankfully didn't see rain until after I got to my destination. There I noticed that the tire wouldn't hold pressure and also that it wouldn't have passed an inspection if it had to- basically bald tire. I wrote a note to Avis and they said basically since I didn't buy the additional roadside coverage I was liable to fix the tire, and if I didn't feel safe I could exchange with another Avis. The closest Avis at that point was 90 miles and couldn't get through on the phone so not even sure it existed, next closest was about 2 hrs one way. I told them that this wasn't practical and that this car shouldn't even be on the road- nothing. So prior to coming back took car in to fix tire- mechanic fixed a leak and said that tire needs to be replaced. Drove back with and hit another white knuckler downpour but made it back to agency at which point they admitted that it needed to be taken off the road but that was it- they were just sorry. Told that story to a coworker and he said he just went through a similar experience in McKinney and noticed chunks of the tire missing and bald edges when he picked it up- so he went back in and exchanged it before it was too late. Moral of the story is while I used to be able to depend on Avis ensuring the car was road ready prior to me spending money on it- I no longer will and their, I don't care attitude now days is further reason I'll spend my money elsewhere- Renter beware of Avis! read more

I usually don't have good experiences with Budget, but I had multiple great experiences here and with Amir. Just make sure to call ahead of time to double check if your reservation/ car can be ready - it depends on other customers returning the rental car on time. read more

My husband has used Avis for Ages. He has a Chime debit card. Never been an issue before... when we went in to get the Reserved vehicle, Amir the Mgr stated they changed their policy 2 months ago. Horrible customer service (even in todays world where you expect it). Agent would not assist us with the rental as the second driver being added didn't have a credit card on him - although my company card was used to secure rental and was covering everything. He said he would cancel the reservation but we would still be charged and nothing he could do. He wasn't willing to event try. I called Budget customer service who quickly cancelled the rental with no charge! How hard is it to be helpful and nice to customers? This is consistently the worst customer service experience I have ever had renting a car. Always dirty, never on time! I had a rental set for 8AM Saturday morning for a mini van for my family vacation. Of course no mini van is available and say nothing is available to seat 6. There was a full size suv sitting there in the parking lot with their tag on it, but they said it wasn't theirs of course. They wanted to get top dollar, not what I paid for the mini van. They blew me off , offered no solution, and set our vacation 5 hours behind schedule while I had to scramble to get another car. Never rent from this place!!!! read more

Run away as fast as you can. Heed all previous warnings about this location. Had a reservation for a vehicle and confirmed the day prior. They said don't worry, your reservation is noted and we'll have a car ready for you. Show up day of, and guess what..no car. Had 2 other cars available but they were holding it for other reservations?! You must be kidding me. They said there's nothing that they could do. Told then I confirmed the day prior and got a shrug. I will gladly take my business elsewhere and am willing to pay more to rent at another location. I will be sharing this experience with all friends, family, and colleagues. We arrived and the customer service was frustrating. We needed to make sure the vehicle fit our needs for our trip so we were quickly sent someone else to help us. At this point I was looking at other places to rent from. We shouldn't have to feel like we have to settle when we're paying for this service. Fortunately, she sent Andrew out and he saved the sale. His positive and helpful attitude was so welcoming. He helped us find what we needed and turned the entire experience around. If we rent from there again, Andrews presence will be required. DFW budget car rental . The most disgusting car rental experience . Go to the other rentals even if they cost a bit more in base price . The lady at the counter at budget was angry when I refused collision and liability protection that she was trying to sell me on top of my already confirmed and pre paid booking . In spite of me explaining to her multiple times that I have collision and liability coverage by default on my credit card , She would agree to let it go . She topped with a addition threat of a 60 $ toll fee for the week for unlimited tolls . I tried telling her I'm going to stay 2 mins from where i have to work for the week and i don't need to take any toll roads and her response Was a daily surcharge if 7 dollars + any toll fees that I may incur . Needless to say I refused and walked away . While all this was going on , the guy at the next counter was telling a lady that they don't have the car that she had booked and her only alternative is to drive a pick up truck . He was just trying to bully her into it. I don't think I am going anywhere near budget car rental anymore . Talking to the people who work there makes me want to throw up . Rented a car this weekend, to be turned in Sunday by noon. Two hours late and they charged me $64 for an additional day. I called and got through to ask about the amount I was billed, the new manager put me on INDEFINITE hold! None of my calls were ever answered from that time forward as all of them now go to an automated system. My concern is the avoidance. Budget Car Rentals provided me incorrect information multiple times and then charged me nearly 500.00 for renting a Hyundai for one night. My original bill was supposed to be $250.00. My reservation was from 12/23 to 12/24, but Budget incorrectly charged me for a rental from 12/23 to 12/26. The problem with this is my email confirmation said that he office was going to be open until 6. I even called budget customer care on 12/24 to confirm the drop off location's closing time and they said that it was 2 PM rather than 6, which was already one inconsistency. I got to the dropoff location, and there was a sign saying that they decided to close at 12 PM rather than the 2 PM that was quoted to me on the phone. I called budget customer care and they said to just drop off the keys in a drop off box and indicate the date and time that I dropped the car, and that I would NOT get charged for anything beyond 12/24. To be safe , I video recorded myself dropping off the car and keys so that the time and location could be documented. On 12/26 I spoke to a customer care person named Carlos because I saw a total of 500.00 being incorrectly charged to my card. Carlos said I would get refunded for the additional days' worth of charges. Later I noticed these refunds never came through. I talked to a manager named Kimberly. Kimberly said that the following evidences didn't matter: 1. Budget said that they were open till 6 PM in my email confirmation 2. Budget on 12/24 said their location was open till 2 PM over the phone. A rep named Christiana told me this. 3. On 12/26 a rep named Carlos said I was going to get refunded for the extra 2 days of charges. She said that since her system shows the drop off location as having a close time of 12, none of the lies and inaccurate information that Budget provided matters. She acknowledged that even though budget provided false information to me, the $~500 was valid. Assuming that fraudulent charges include charges based on deceptive and false information, Budget justified their fraudulent charge against me. read more

Office wasn't open, they didn't have car. 4 hours later they still didn't have car. Called customer service and their attitude was they could care less. One Star is actually too high of a review. We requested a full sized PU about 1 week in advance. When we got there and found an issue with the vehicle. Due to a time constraint, we settled on a mid-sized PU that was half way cleaned. When returning I discovered that they overcharged for the rental. They said there was nothing that they could do that I would need to call customer service. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE. Called a few times with no fair resolution. Second we rented from Avis this summer and they were both dirty. From LA to Frisco, TX, they don't clean cars. This time the van we rented had pet hair - they warn you of a $250 charge if they find pet hair- and a little bit of throw up on the floor - not sure if it's pet or human. The girl at the location said we did not need to walk because we bought the insurance. Also that it was clean and full of gas. So it had gas, but clean is far from the correct description. Had to take it for a wash. I have two stars because at least the van was there . I called the 800 and I got the transfer treatment and I'm sorry. No real resolution yet. read more

This place is horrible. I have spent thousands of dollars here in the last 6 months due to traveling my personal car issues. I've received 3 filthy cars there and each time I complain they said they would give me a discount the next time. Each time I remind them of the discount they get amnesia. The last time I rented a full size SUV. When I got there I reminded them of the last filthy car and the promised discount, they said this one won't be dirty because they're cleaning it now. Bull!!! This full size Ford Expedition Platinum model full loaded had a dead animal under it and a foul odor. I drove this car for 5 hours smelling a dead cacass underneath this car. When I arrived at my destination, I was so sick, I had to drive it through a car wash which is when the dead body wash up from the undercarriage. I took pictures if the parts that washed up on the car. When I turned the car in, these people acted as if this was the norm. As a matter of fact, I ended up paying more for the car. I rented a car from Avis/Budget car rental located in Frisco on Main and Teel. I wanted to take a moment to say how pleased I was with the great customer service given by Pega! I called to ask if I was able to pick up the vehicle early, they didn't have any available but Pega called me as soon as they did. He could not have been nicer when I came to pick up the car. His service was fast and efficient. The day I returned the car I was running late due to traffic. I called to let Pega know that I would be late and he assured me that it was fine. I would recommend this location to anyone in need of a rental car! Pega was AWESOME!!! read more

I was very disappointed in the service at this place. My kids and my ex-husband and I are taking a trip to Omaha for a baseball tournament. We were all going to drive together in my Traverse, but I decided I didn't want to put the mileage on my car, so I looked online and found a great deal for a Ford Explorer for @ $320, including fees, for the week. For pre-paying online with my credit card, and having a coupon, i got down to this price. The website asked me who would be driving and I put down Tom's name, not mine, since he'll be doing all the driving. When we got to the Budget location, at about 8:15, for our 8am reservation, the car wasn't ready; it was being cleaned. Tom had to drive back to his house real quick to grab something anyway (3 minutes away), so it was fine. While we waited, the guy (no name tag, and never introduced himself) took my drivers license, and asked if Tom and I were married, because if we're married the spouse can drive for free. If we're not married then its $13/day for an additional driver. I said "That's ok, I wont be driving. He's the only driver." He printed out the contract for Tom and me to look at and he said it would be $65 more than I pre-paid! He said the additional driver fee maxes out at $65. I said again, "we only have one driver, like I said before." And he explained that the person who pays for the car with their credit card is assumed to be the first driver, anyone else (not married) is an additional driver. What?? That was never made clear to anyone! I said, "but when i ordered the car online, and put in his name as the driver, nothing was noted that there was an additional fee!" He said, "Its on the website." Not very clearly-- I just looked again, and I still don't see that! So, I said, "let's just switch credit cards-- he has his right here." He started breathing heavily, and picked up the phone. He called someone he called "Boss", and explained the situation. Apparently he was told he cannot do that!! I spoke to the "boss" on the phone who didn't introduce himself, who explained that for security reasons, they needed the Drivers License and credit card for the driver. I said that's fine, he is willing to give that! He said to give the phone back to the guy in front of me. They then determined that they would have to refund me my money, and then start a new rental at today's rate. Which of course they said turned out to be over $500. Ridiculous! Why couldn't they just note his credit card in the transaction/account?? As it turns out, I'm not even driving in the car, I decided to fly after i had reserved the car for the rest of the family. Since it was almost already 9:00, and the car still needed to be packed, we let it go, so we could leave. So this company is Forcing us to pay an additional $65 because they say if I pre-pay it with my card, then I AM a driver and any other driver is the additional $13/day fee. But they wont let us switch credit cards, to give them the credit card of the driver! PLUS, when the car was finally ready, it wasn't even a Ford Explorer- it was a Nissan Pathfinder! NOT exactly the size I ordered but they say its in the same category. Extremely disappointed in this unprofessional place. Do NOT fall for a cheap rate with them-- they find ways to tack on additional fees. read more
