My car reservation was supposed to be just under $300. When I checked my credit card they charged $751. They have you initial the electronic pad when they verbalize things to you. They don't tell you about a recoup charge a recovery charge and all kinds of other charges that do not make sense read more

I made a reservation online, and the site asked for a Credit Card. I entered the card number and did not realize that the time I was reserving was GOSPEL, and the charges were not adjustable and billed at the time of reservation. t turned out that we did not need the car for the full time and returned it one day and 1/2 early. We then were told that there were no credits for usage use less that was ordered . Too bad so Sad... The agent told me that I should not have secured the rental at the beginning and paid when we returned the car... I did not see that as an option. Customer service basically saying to bad ... WE HAVE A POLICY FOR NO RETURNS and screw you customer. read more

I'll try to make a long story short. Rented from this location and had a terrible experience. Rented a mid-sized sedan. Car was dirty inside and out when it was given to me. Overall the car was in pretty bad shape, lots of scratches, a cracked rear bumper, big dents and marks on hood, curb checks all over the front bumper, and even blood on the rear door. Someone had clearly not treated this car well, as it only had 9k miles on it. 2 days in, tire light goes on. I fill It with air, doesn't appear to be a huge leak, but as I check all the tires, they are all at or over 40#. Weird. Leak starts to get worse over the next couple of day, probably from Driving through the mountains and on a couple dirt roads in the park. I can't keep putting air into it every day, so I contact Budget customer service who were quick and easy, and told me just to return the vehicle for an exchange. Bring it in the next day, and the manager Jennifer was super rude and very little help. Blamed me for the tire, said that if the light wasn't on when I drove it away, it is my fault and my responsibility. This is why the tires had been over-inflated I assume. Anyway, after dealing with her telling me there's nothing she can do and it's "just our policy" (even after looking at the sheet of the condition; and stating "yeah this car isn't in great shape). I got put into a downgrade (they give me a compact), but refused to refund any of my money ( I paid over $1,100 for 8 days!). They also charged me $166 for a new tire! What an absolute joke! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! If there are no other cars at the airport, there is an Enterprise less than 2 miles up the road. I would prefer to walk there with all of my luggage than deal with these people again. Terrible customer service. Terrible manager. All around terrible experience! read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Lady at the counter was very rude. I travel a lot and use a lot of rental cars. I've never been told I could only drive a small sedan because I'm 23 years old. That has never happened to me. Only full sized SUV's like tahoes, etc. I asked the employee why that is because it's never happened to me and she said "well sorry about it. But that's policy." And then she said "so are you going to take a car or not?" I was here for work so I replied yes I kinda need a car. The parking lot is completely unorganized as far as budget goes. I'll never use budget again and I'll stick to National from now on. Or hertz when there's limited options. read more

On Expedia I booked a 2 day rental for a midsize SUV for a very reasonable $140. Picking the car was easy, the lady at the front desk was quick and friendly. I ended up with Toyota RAV4 Hybrid with AWD, which I wasn't expecting but very grateful since its December with snow and ice on the road. The car was clean and in perfect working condition. Great gas mileage too! Over two days I took the car up to Kalispell to Whitefish Mountain Resort to Whitefish itself, then to Glacier National Park, and back to Kalispell again. I only needed to buy 6 gallons of gas thanks to the hybrid efficiency! Return was easy with the drop box. read more

I waited in the Budget rental car line for a few minutes and this Caucasian BLONDE EMPLOYEE NAMED "CINDY" (about 30-35 years old wearing a flannel shirt) came out from the back office and walked towards the front counter. A Caucasian man who was a tourist walked in the door AFTER me and did not even wait in line. He came up to to her and told her that he was returning a rental and handed her the keys. "Cindy" the employee told him it was not a problem and took the car keys he was returning. I walked up to her from the line I had been waiting in, and told her that I had waited in line and I was going to return my car rental too. I asked her nicely if she could take my rental keys too to return them. "CINDY" THE Caucasian BLONDE EMPLOYEE HEARD ME, looked at me for about 3 seconds, then IGNORED ME BLATANTLY and on purpose, said NOTHING to me, then walked back to her office behind the counter. I had to wait a few more minutes for another employee to come to the counter and help me. This blatant disrespect and rudeness shocked me as a customer. Her rudeness to me felt discriminatory since I am an Asian-American woman and a US Army veteran. She treated the white male customer so nicely and treated me with such disdain and ignored me after looking at me for 3 seconds and hearing my question. Very unprofessional employee and she should not be working in customer service if she has deep prejudice inside that reflects on her behavior at work. read more

Look Elsewhere! I booked a four day rental in February for a ski trip. When I arrived at Kalispell it was snowing hard. By the time I got through the check in and was given keys to the car, a couple inches of snow had accumulated accumulated on the parked cars. I drove the car less than 40 miles total, literally to the rental house in Whitefish and then back to the airport. Upon my return, I received a notice from Budget they were seeking almost $4,000 in damages to the car. I contacted their manager and had a conversation about the damage, which was to the bottom of the side rail of the car. I explained to him that I wasn't able to review the conditions of the car thoroughly due to the snowy conditions but was certain the damage was existing. The manager promised to call back with additional information. Weeks later and no return call or follow up with photos or any other of the information I had requested, so I figured they let this go. Another three weeks passes and I get contacted by a third party seeking damages on their behalf. So I call the manager back and he wont take my call. I am three months removed from the vacation and still dealing with this issue. Even my insurance is refusing to pay because of the conditions of the case. Needless to say, this experience has erased all of the good memories of the vacation as I continue to deal with the issue. There are numerous other options for rentals at the Kalispell airport, do yourself a favor and avoid Budget. read more

I'd give it negative stars if I could. I booked through expedia with unlimited miles. The rate was quoted at $389.09 for 4 days. When I checked in there was no mention of a per mile rate. (I've never paid for miles with any other company). I was given a huge gas hog Sequoia, I asked for a smaller SUV but was told that would be an additional $20 per day, unsatisfied with that price I settled for the large utility vehicle. I drove to Glacier and in route on a remote area I had a blow out, I did not run anything over the tire simply blew. I called Budget first and they said unless I paid for the add-on insurance then I was on my on own, At this point my cel coverage was out, there was not network, so I had to walk the side of the road until I got a ride from strangers who got me into a cel range to call AAA. After the spare was put on the air pressure light was still on. The wiper fluid was out. I was very unhappy that I lost a day of vacation dealing with this mess and my safety was also questioned. Not to mentioned the vehicle costed me over $100 a day in gas. The day I returned the vehicle I topped off the tank to full, cleaned out the vehicle and approached the counter. The woman took the keys and said "all set", I thought she'd ask me "how did it go?", so I told her that I had a lot of problems and I respectfully requested a day credit and she called the manager Brad and I explained the situation, he was very "matter of fact" and said " no, I am not going to credit you and I am going to charge you for the tire". I just left as I could tell he was not going to be of any help. After I got home my total charges were $761.93 and they posted three different transactions. I am furious and disputing through my credit card company. I would not send my worst enemy to this company. Poor service and bogus pricing, expect surprises like extra charges even after check out. read more

I was so impressed by the service I received at the Kalispell rental location. The attendants on duty greeted me professionally and made it a quick, effortless process to rent the car I had requested. I was having trouble pairing my phone to the car and a Budget Rental attendant who was on duty in the parking lot, was more than gracious with my inability at technology. He was able to get me connected and "Away I went" My trip was fantastic and it began right off the plane at Budget! read more

We requested a "Mid Size SUV" when I booked through Priceline in January. We picked up our vehicle when we landed in Bozeman on 9/2/23. However, we were given a off road Jeep. We thought, no biggie. Until we started driving it! Bouncy, loose steering wheel and VERY uncomfortable seats. We called the Budget Car Rental in Kalispell and, basically, pleaded with them that we were to old to be in that Jeep! They told us they understood and said "no problem" They hooked us up with a Chevy Traverse that was much, much better! When we got to the location, the young lady at the desk could not have been more helpful and polite! Brad even helped us get our stuff out of the Jeep and into the Traverse. I would HIGHLY recommend Budget Car Rental at the Kalispell airport! read more

I rented a car in November. The car was great. The staff was great, all in all very good experience. Two months later, I realized when going into a national park, I didn't have my pass. I called budget on a whim, and asked if they had a lost and found. Brad was extremely helpful in finding the pass and getting it mailed back to me. I know there were other employees involved, but I don't know their names sorry. All in all a great experience, and I will definitely rent from them again. read more

By FAR the biggest racket I have ever encountered. We were charged what was supposed to be $200 a day for a total of $800 for 4 days. My receipt originally said $876 at booking. When we arrived at the airport, the charge had jumped to $1,001. Understanding things change, we accepted this charge. Then at drop off it had jumped to $1600. Nothing was itemized or explained. We also had to drop the car at the Missoula airport, 90 miles away, due to a situation completely out of our control and were charged a $1500 fee on top of the car already being DOUBLE what it was quoted to cost. I tried to speak with the contacts in Kalispell and they were completely unwilling to hear me out or accept any responsibility for these exorbitant charges. $2700 for FOUR DAYS of a Toyota Corolla. None of the numbers even add up to what we were eventually charged and no one seems able to explain anything. read more

I noticed on my credit card that I was charged an additional $207 2.5 weeks after renting the car. When I called, I was told it was for a tire. I told them I had to put air in the tire shortly after leaving the lot but when I returned the car it was neither low on air or flat (I would have noticed). I was told I am responsible for the tires as soon as I leave the lot. The car had other obvious issues like shaking at speeds over 50 mph but I wasn't going to use it to go far and didn't want to bother to exchange it. I was never notified of the charge, just charged me 2.5 weeks later! Very shady business. Looking at the reviews, this is not an isolated incident. I have notified Budget Corporate but this is an independent franchise, I also am disputing it with my credit card company. BEWARE, they will sneak in unwarranted charges and hope you don't notice. read more

By far the worst car-rental experience I've ever had. My car smelled awful and looked like it had never been cleaned. If the sticker on the windshield was accurate, it was six months and nearly 10,000 miles overdue for servicing. Worst of all, I told the desk agent I didn't need any added protection. However, he added $50+ for roadside protection. I didn't notice it when I initialed the document. I'll never rent with any Budget location again. read more

Once we got there they had us in and out in 10 minutes with a line. We will continue to use them for our future trips. Car had so many water spots, the side mirrors were unusable and the windshield was difficult to see through in the sun. We took it to a car wash and had it professionally cleaned before continuing on. Upon returning, We noticed other Budget cars were also wet, sitting in the sun. A towel would make a big difference. read more

Summary: overcharged. Eventually received a refund but was not happy with how my complaint was handled. Details below. Initially, I was treated with very friendly customer service, on-site, and then returned my car at this location on August 18, 2017. Several days after my trip I checked my credit card statement to discover an additional $40 charge to my credit card. Spent 20 minutes on the phone with Budget's main customer service line and found: 1. I was charged for a full tank of gas, despite the fact that paperwork showed I indeed returned the car with a full tank. 2. The customer service rep acknowledged that paperwork showed I returned the car with a full tank of gas. 3. The customer service rep was very "apologetic" but due to billing practices I would be required to submit a scanned copy of my credit card statement to prove that I had indeed purchased a full tank of gas, IF I wanted my $40 returned. On August 23rd I was told that I should speak directly with the Kalispell location, so I gave them a call. I was told that someone would call me back about this matter "after they finish dealing with this flight that just came in." (Note: this airport has only three gates). It must have been quite a large flight, because two days passed and received no call back. On the morning of the 25th I called this location repeatedly and couldn't reach anyone--after 8 rings a message would play stating, "Answering system off," after which the line would drop. A few hours later I tried again and my call was answered. I remarked that I had called earlier and that it was strange that the answering system was off. The response was a curt, "We've been with customers all morning." I was told during this call that my money had already been refunded and I should see it in my account in the next few days. No attempt at an explanation or apology was offered. So you decide for yourself what to think. On the one hand, I'm happy I received my money back. On the other hand, I lost valuable time trying to obtain a refund for a charge that should never had occurred; I was kept wondering and waiting why I couldn't get through to the company or even leave a message; the message I left in person was never returned; and my final contact with Kalispell was flat and cold. Personally, I'd try using another rental service the next time I'm in Kalispell. read more

I had signed up to rent a car from {another place} for my trip, but when I got there I realized that {other place} wasn't actually on the airport grounds. I walked up to the Budget counter to ask for directions, and was told {other place} sends a shuttle for users.. but they were closed now for the day. Who closes at two in the afternoon????? So naturally I asked the young woman at the counter if I could rent an SUV for two weeks starting right then, and yes, yes I could. I got a brand new 4Runner on the spot, and the service I got was fast, friendly, and professional. AND about HALF of what {other place} had quoted me for the same type of rental. I'll know better next time for sure! read more

Got a follow up call from Brad at the Kalispell Budget Car Rental. What a refreshing/professional voice over the phone. He explained the lost and found procedures they have and said that they weren't followed when I left my cords in the vehicles. Brad explained that staff was reminded of policies and said he would compensate me for the apple cords that I left in the car. Thank you Brad for the follow up. I will pass this on to Costco and let them know I am satisfied with the resolution. read more
