If I could give 0 stars I would. Surprise charges totaling up to about $400. When I picked up my car, I was offered some insurance to which I took and the guy behind the counter said would only be $175. When they charged my card, they added a $250 hold since I had prepaid for my car. The person behind the counter said that as soon as I returned the car, the hold would be released and I'd get my money back. Upon returning the car in great condition with a full tank, I got charged close to $400 which was for the supposed insurance. I had a very disappointing experience picking up my rental car. I was third in line, and when it became my turn to be helped, another customer who had already been assisted and had an issue with his paperwork got back in line behind me. Despite me being next, the employee chose to help that customer first, saying she wanted to "get him out of the way," which pushed me back and caused me to wait an additional 15 minutes. As a Black customer, the way I was overlooked and moved aside left me feeling singled out and discriminated against. Whether intentional or not, the experience felt unfair, disrespectful, and unprofessional. My experience with Budget Brakes was extremely frustrating and unprofessional from start to finish. I went to pick up my car at 2:20 in the morning as planned, only to be told by the technician that they would not release my vehicle and I would have to wait until the shop opened again at 7 AM. When I returned later that morning, I was then informed that the car still wasn't ready. Because of this, my wife and I wasted an entire day of leave -- and anyone in the military knows how valuable that time is and how unacceptable it is to have it wasted due to poor communication and lack of preparation. To make matters worse, I was told I would be receiving a credit to make up for the inconvenience, but that never happened either. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, respect for customers' time, and follow-through on their own promises. I can't rank them a zero. I filled out the car rental on-line weeks prior to my reservation. I landed in San Antonio and found that I had to stop at the counter to check in. 7or 8 other people in line to verify what I had already done, filled in information prior on THEIR computer system. 2 lower energy counter checkers slow-walked and chewed the fat with each other rather than get the PAYING CLIENTS their cars. 35 minutes after getting in line, I was given my car. Early on the second day we were headed to Boerne, the car started making an horrible noise. It sounded like a snow plow. I pulled over and noted the under carriage (plastic) had fallen down and was scraping the ground, also making a drumming beat as we were on the highway. In town, people were staring at us. I was not able to remove the hard plastic under carriage protector that had folded over on itself. I could not afford to drive back to San Antonio to deal with it. When I turned the car back in, I advised the person at check in of the issue. He informed me that he could do nothing about the issue and go speak with the booth lady. Her reply was it sometimes happens and at least we were able to drive the car. CUSTOMER SERVICE AT AN ALL TIME LOW. Fire her on the spot. It was so easy to rent a car through Budget. I received a Nissan Rogue for my family trip. I started my rental process online and finished it at the San Antonio airport. It was so easy to find the counter and the staff was very friendly. I signed everything that needed my signature and made the short walk to my car. It was there ready and clean for me to drive off. As I do not carry a major credit card at all times, I was informed that I could not use my debit card to pay for the rental. If this is the policy, it should be explicitly stated when reservations are made. Several others in line encountered the same issue. So I got a m3 as my rental from Budget Car Rental this week in San Antonio. It's easy to see why rental companies failed miserably with their Tesla models. 1. There's no quick start guide provided. Just the key card in the console. I've got a mX so I know the basics but it took a minute to figure out where to put the key card. 2. Once I'm off the lot driving I realize the car is in valet mode. Too far away and too late to turn around. Called roadside assistance the next morning and was told I had to call the location directly. Well, every number and menu selection I tried took me to a national call center. The last customer service person I spoke with told me that their call system is designed that way. To the attorneys at Budget, I am in receipt of your notice that you are charging me for a tow of your vehicle that failed while on vacation. First of all, I never requested an electric vehicle when I Booked the reservation. When we were finally helped at your counter (long lines) we were told that your company was short on vehicles so we were asked if we would try an electric vehicle. Never having used an electric vehicle before I expressed my concerns about charging stations for a Toyota Electric Vehicle and I was handed a piece of paperwork with a link to charging stations and also told by your counter clerk that the battery would last 4 days before we needed a charge, so I thought okay as long as we can charge the vehicle while on vacation (per your rental agent at the counter), we will accommodate your shortage of gas-powered vehicles as I had reserved originally. Well, we picked up the vehicle around 1pm on Wednesday the 15th and drove 10 minutes down the road to my mother in laws house in San Antonio and parked the car there for the rest of the day and overnight until we left the next morning on our trip that turned into a disaster. An hour into our trip the car the car was losing battery power, so I brought up the app for charging stations that was given to us by your counter person and we located a couple charging stations, but they were all TESLA CAR CHARGING STATIONS ONLY. While stranded for 5 hours at with my 76-year-old mother-in-law at yep, a TESLA CHARGING STATION we were approached by a local TX resident who told us that South of San Antonio there are no charging stations except for TESLA cars. How am I supposed to charge an electric car when there are no charging stations equipped to charge a TOYOTA Electric Car. Let me bring up the fact that we were stranded, and your roadside assistance (Uber) was unable to provide a ride for 5 hours. (I Have all the documentation from Uber showing them being unable to provide a ride) Once again still stranded with my 76-year-old mother-in-law I was told your roadside assistance team that I needed to call the Highway Patrol because your roadside assistance was unable to get us a ride because your roadside assistance said we were on the side of the highway. Nope- We were at a business parking lot with a TESLA charging station only and I explained that in every phone call made that day. Finally, after my mother-in-law started to feel faint and exhausted due to being out in the sun for almost 5 hours, I took it upon myself to find a LYFT driver to get us down to Corpus Christi to pick up a replacement vehicle. What was supposed to be lunch at 1 in Corpus Christi ended up being dinner at 7pm and unable to view the sites in the area. I have contacted my attorney and my credit card company, and the charges have been denied. Please let me know who my attorney and my credit card company should contact regarding your negligence (Possible Elderly Abuse in the state of TX) and two out of state residents stranded by your rental car company. Our flight arrived at almost midnight and went to pick up our car after confirming it again earlier in the day. We, and many other families, were told that Budget had no cars for us and would guarantee that we would have one at 7:00 am the next morning and they would reimburse us for our Uber costs that night. They LIED! Not only did they NOT have cars available the next morning, they have not reimbursed any uber costs. I submitted my claim and was only reimbursed for the car rental. worst rental experience ever. I would not recommend budget rental to anyone in my life because I got cheated by them very badly regarding the money matter. First of all, I picked up the car on June 27th 9:56 pm and was supposed to return it back on June 29th by 9:48 pm (I don't know how that adds up to 48 hours). Anyways, I returned back the car by 10:20 pm on June 29th and told the lady inside the office that the car has been dropped. Hence, I didn't know if there were any formalities to be made to mention the drop off time. But she said to just leave the car keys inside the keys. NOTHING ELSE WAS SAID TO ME!!! While picking up the car they gave a slip showing the car number and details and had a space to mention the return date and time. I did mention the date and time on the slip and kept it with keys. And the next day I received a receipt with way too much extra charges saying I returned the car on June 30th by 6:01 am. I called the customer service, and they said they have charged you for an extra 8 HOURS!! and they said If I have any proof with the rate I agreed to, I can email that receipt to the given email and received a reply saying "they can't do anything, and the car has been returned by 6:01 am on June 30th. So, no changes can be done." I replied to them saying I have the proof for the payment done at the exit of the garage of San Antonio International Airport (proof of time that we entered the garage and exiting the garage where the returns are located). I challenged them to send the proof we entered the garage or proof of time that they are saying that we returned the car. N.B: We fueled the car way more than how much I got when I picked up the car. Checkin (9559 Airport Blvd location) was all about pressure to buy insurance, extra services and connection gadgets. It was over an hour to pick up a reserved many days in advance SUV which was dirty on the outside and inside. I took photos all around the vehicle since it was given to me dirty. There was a sticker on the windshield about a cleaning fee also. I Plus two days I received a call asking for the identification of the vehicle I received. I learned later I received a different SUV than what was stated on the contract. Upon return I was not accommodated with their help to have a wheelchair or assistance. I had no choice but to plead for someone to drive me and my helping assistant to the departure area. I have severe mobility issues and cannot walk the long distance from the airport car rental area to the departure baggage checkin. I had no choice but to offer payment to anyone who worked for Budget to drive us over to the airport departure. It should have been a courtesy service because they couldn't get wheelchair assistance to us, besides having the ridiculous checkin procedure and receiving a filthy vehicle. I pointed it out at checkin so they shouldn't charge us for a cleaning fee as stated on a windshield sticker. I will NEVER use airport car rental Avis/Budget at San Antonio. However, I do put some responsibililty on the rental agencies - in this instance, squarely on Budget - on how they move people from the terminal to the agency location. * Instead of being able to move briskly from the Airport Terminal to the Car Rental Agencies in a consilidated location, you have to endure this absurd Tijuana Taxi-like Ride in run down shuttle. * This is a far inferior process than (1) whether the car rental agency is in the Airport Parking Garages like at SeaTac or Burbank, or (2) whether the rental car agencies are consolidated much more efficiently in their own separate car terminal like in Vegas or Sacramento, * Such consilidation brings great efficiencies and customer service to the patrons, primarily because the shuttle fleet in then an AIRPORT shuttle-fleet, and the drivers are then EMPLOYEES of the AIRPORT, paid better wages, with better benefits and HENCE, far more savvy and professional business employees. * Instead, these shuttles are (1) not timely (2) nor do they have a clear location of embarkation on the 2nd furthest curb outside the SouthWest baggage claim area, (3) People are waiting along a stretch of 200 yards of sidewalk, and (4) having to sprint to their rental agency if they see the shuttle stopping 50-75 yards away from them. Further (5) in every other agencies' situation they are miles away from the airport, but it's worse with Budget which is the agency furthest out. Did I say absurd? THE LOWDOWN Docking a star for this clusterf*ck between Budget & San Antonio Airport, but still a solid 4-Star Review.
