I reserved a car online 3 days before pickup in Fort Collins, CO. Filled out all of the annoying documents online before pickup to ASSURE I would have a vehicle. Showed up 2 minutes after they opened on and they gave my car away to the person in front of me-agent admitted it. I asked the couple when they had reserved theirs and after confirming they admitted it was after I had. Agent was rude and dressed like a six yr. old with his cap on backwards. Offered to give me the "spiel" as to why they didn't have a car for me. I told him unless a "spiel" was a German automobile that could hold six people, then forget it. He was rude and completely unaccommodating. He acted like a spoiled adolescent who couldn't handle a customer challenging his inadequate and immature behavior. Told me I should check with Enterprise. So I did just that-I went to Enterprise and was treated with respect and given a car within minutes. Process was professional and employees dressed like professionals and were courteous. After this experience I will NEVER, EVER attempt to rent a car from Budget, Avis, Zip, etc., or any other Avis Budget Group company. read more

I rent a car when I return the employee said just to tell where I left it and was OK she was very busy she check the car she knew I was a disable person and laughing she told me that the owner loves to charge a lot for cleaning the car when they where not dirty She close the rental with everything OK however without an invoice they charge me 145 dollars when the car other that minimal amount of dog hair was ver clean When I wen to talk to the person at the office she was disrespectful and told me they are not going to refund me Worst car experience I should have check the reviews in this location that probably are not any better that any other location read more

Trash! Reserved a rental at this location only to learn upon arrival it's not available. Staff recommended going to secondary location with same outcome. Choose a different company! I'm out two Uber fares for a wild goose chase and now in a bind to find another rental read more

My wife and I travel a lot for pleasure and work. We're a loyal customer of Avis rental cars, but since Budget had the same car for 40% less, we decide to give Budget a try. That's where our problems began. We rented the suburban in Denver, Colorado during a rain and snowstorm and figured out very quickly the suburban did not have any window washer fluid. We need to buy a gallon of window washer fluid, which was only roughly 7 dollars and we had to install it. As always, we stop at the nearest gas station to the rental facility to fill the rental car up. But then I started to get additional billings to fill the gas tank up in the suburban and for my toll charges which I paid for in my initial reservation. I sent the receipts for the gas tank filling into Budget and made note to them that I paid for toll charges, unlimited in my reservation contract. Having trouble getting my money back. Thinking about disputing the whole complete $800 rental charge just for the point of it. I have spent over an hour and a half correcting the gas charges and toll charges and still waiting to get my money back. read more

08/23/2023 The worst car that I have ever driven. It wasn't even the same type of car that I wanted, they gave it to me dirty and then told me that I would be fined if I brought it back dirty when THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO CLEAN IT or make it smell good. I brought it back to them cleaner than they freaking gave it to me which is ridiculous and makes me feel as if they do that to a lot of people just so they don't have to do it themselves. They also caused my credit card to be locked because they tried to charge it twice since they are for some reason not synced with the app which is dumb. Why have an app that doesn't work with the actual location that you're renting a car from? Finally got that resolved at least. Just a horrible experience. Would never go back or recommend them. read more

If you rent from this office, look over your charges very carefully before you return the car for good or you will get reamed like we did. We rented a van for an entire month. At the time we picked it up, the counter guy was kind enough to give us a deal on satellite radio. And he added "We don't expect it (the car) to come back spotless on the outside, it IS Colorado after all." 30 days later we dropped it off with the vehicle in pristine condition on the inside (we vacuumed, cleaned and turned it in cleaner than our own vehcile), but yes, dirty on the outside. It was spring for crying out loud, and it rained, A LOT here. We dropped it off with the keys and left in a hurry because there were screaming brats in the lobby and it was chaotic. A couple of weeks later when I checked my credit card statement, I noticed we were charged an extra $169 which included a cleaning fee (what?!) AND an additional driver charge, for my HUSBAND (WTF?!), AND $30 in fees for satellite radio usage. I had to waste 30 minutes of my time on the phone with Budget's 800# to fight these charges.The rep was WAY more awesome than the counter guy and she was able to get all but $22 removed on her own, without running it up the flagpole at Budget, which would have taken weeks. For that I'm thankful she could cut that deal. $22 ain't worth my time to hunt down with these idiots. As for renting from this office again? NEVER. That was $1330 of my hard earned money that that location will never ever get again because of their poorly trained employees who make bad decisions, from the guys who wash the cars to the guy who works the front desk. And if you think Avis is any better, it isn't, it's owned by the same business owner so don't use them either. Grrr. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET or Avis!!! Pay a few dollars more at Enterprise or Hertz. Read below for the full story if you are so inclined to settle in for a horrible customer service 'novel'... Once Upon a Time in the Magnolia Budget office in Fort Collins... "Customer Service Representative" Joshua - Absolutely bar none THE WORST customer service. We have rented a vehicle from them 4 times over the past year and a half and EVERY time was a terrible experience. Budget car rental, how have you failed us? Let us count the ways... (we won't because it would take too long). Today was the last straw, we had made a reservation as usual with the time of pick up and the vehicle requested. Arrived (even a little later than planned) to be informed (with haughty attitude) that a vehicle was not ready and wouldn't be for another 4 hours! We had an 8 hour drive ahead of us, leaving 5 hours later would mean driving all night. Knowing that we needed to still make the drive, we agreed to take a different vehicle, inquiring if it would still be the same rate which we were assured it was. When we were asked to sign the receipt - lo and behold it was $100 more than agreed upon. Very sneaky, underhanded and RUDE the entire time. More concerned with going out to look at the brand new truck that just came in than helping us. We have been regular and consistent customers for some time, despite the less than stellar service. At this point, we will not be returning to Budget, instead will rent from another company. We would rather be paying more if it means we get a smidge better service and respect. When asked if we would be extended a discount because of the mess up which was, at the root, the fault of the 'service' representative. He stood there, looked at his screen with a screwed up face and after a pause said "No, I don't give discounts." If you don't give discounts, you don't have to pause that long to think it over. I have worked in customer service positions for my entire working career. My husband currently owns a business that depends upon good customer service for survival. This attitude by Joshua is unacceptable. All he would have needed to do is rent us the more expensive vehicle at the same price as the one we reserved and we'd have walked away happy. Alternatively, he could have gotten the reserved vehicle to the office in a reasonable amount of time and extended a token discount for the mix-up. (He had made a small effort by calling a different office, about 8 miles away and confirmed they had one that could be moved to his location.) Instead, Joshua decided to assume an attitude of superiority and, as a result, lost a repeat customer. No apology was ever extended during the entire interaction. We have called the corporate office and lodged a complaint, which we were told will be referred to the District Manager. (We'll post an update when and if we hear anything from that.) Rented a vehicle for a cross country trip and the check engine light came on. They asked me to take it to Jiffy Lube and there were many problems, so they trucked a replacement out to me. I will say not impressed with the build quality of the Chrysler's as I have had issues with them before, but the service was great. Highly recommend this location to rent a car. read more

I reserved a car through Hotwire and when I got there I was refused service because my credit was poor. I was never told this by Hotwire and there is no warnings anywhere else. The policy posted on the wall clearly stated a debit card could be used but a $200 is necessary. That was fine but no where did it state that I need to "pass" a credit check; nowhere! I stated that decision is based on the racist bias of the rental company. I've been through so much social and racially based discrimination but it NEVER ceases to amaze me when I hear people say "this isn't racial or classist". Recently I rented a car from Budget. When I had to contact CS after hours, I was transferred to a call center. The individuals English was so terrible that I could not understand him. I asked to speak to someone else or a supervisor. After multiple attempts to understand him, I came to the conclusion that what he was telling me that my reason for asking to be transferred "Not being able to understand his terrible English" was not a good enough reason and he had been told that was the policy of Budget. Reserved a car to pickup at noon on christmas eve so the family could go together to visiting a relative. Reservation was made two weeks in advance. Arrived at local office 1210 to find that the office had closed at noon. No call or email asking to pick up early because of early closing. Spent 30 minutes on the phone so the company could cancel the reservation andnget my refund. Their email states a 10 dollar peocessing fee to cancel a reservation that they did not honor. Be wary of renting for a holiday. read more
