Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.

The job is for removal and replacement of soffits, fascia, gutters and downspouts on a 1-story ranch with 200 linear feet of gutters. In 2023 a woman came out, did the walk through and then sent me a quote with details about the materials, a cost breakdown for each part of the project - quantity and cost for removal of gutters, removal of downspouts, installation of gutters, installation of downspouts. It was very professional (I work with contractors and job bids for a living) and provided all the necessary details of the cost. In 2023 they refused to address the soffit and fascia so I declined to move forward with them. In 2025 a man came out, did the walk through and then insisted on setting up a follow up appointment to walk through the project quote. I did not receive the info packet ahead of time and was disappointed by what I received - a detailed project description for siding work (presumably for the soffits and fascia but the material was specific to siding installation which isn't relevant to either of those locations) with no scoped quote for any aspect of the project. There were no details of the materials to be used or breakdown of the cost specifics. The dollar amounts were hand written into a spec sheet of "good / better / best" (photo attached because I don't even know what to call it, it's definitely not a job quote). I understand that materials costs have changed significantly and the job might cost more today than two years ago, but if you're going to waste my time with a second meeting to quote the job, actually quote the job. So your experience with WestPro may entirely depend upon the person you randomly end up with as your project coordinator. Homeowner be wary. I'll update this review when I've heard back with legit quotes and decisions on a path forward. For now it's a very unimpressed meh.

This was the third window quote I'd received, and I really appreciated the straightforward pricing and easy financing options. It took about three months from our initial meeting to installation. On install day, it was super cold and the crew worked efficiently, cleaned up quickly, and communicated well throughout the process. The supervisors kept us informed of their progress and were happy to answer any questions. It's only been a few days, but we haven't had any issues so far. The pitch was that if we had windows installed and put their sign up in the yard and left them good reviews they would give us 50% off the price of windows and free install. The "marketing coordinator" (salesperson) who came for the follow up informational meeting tried to take advantage of the fact we hadn't done any advanced research (since we weren't actively seeking out quoted for new window, which she knew) and tried to convince us pella/anderson windows for our home would be $75k and so performance windows at $35k were a screaming bargain. This was not an informational meeting, it was a bait and switch sales move. She told us that we had to sign on the spot and drop half the amount ($17k) otherwise when she walked out the door the deal was gone. She was trying to pass completely made up inflated numbers as fake "competitor pricing" in order to make her offer look like a discount so we would fall for the exploding offer. Thank god for chatGPT. A few questions quickly returned a realistic estimate for windows for our home ($18-20k for vinyl windows, not $35k) and explained the whole advertising home scheme, allowing us to call her bluff and decline the so called "deal". I would never do business with a company that uses pressure tactics and preys on unassuming folks who haven't done their research in order to lock in contracts under false pretenses. I hope everyone sees this review before they sign up to be an advertising home or even waste an hour of their precious time talking to Performance Windows sales people.

So, this was a big project and we were very nervous as it was our first time doing this. From the start, we were impressed by the sales process. They went over our preferences and needs multiple times, made many iterations, and finally, we settled on the windows to replace, the style, the amount of sun filtering, etc. We chose Marvin windows as the window manufacturer, and Five Seasons then handled the installation. Now that it's been a year, we can say that Five Seasons supports their work really well. We had some problems with the hardware side of some of our Marvin windows and doors. It wasn't anything major, but things that should have been working properly. Dylan and Makayla provided exceptional support and actually rebuilt our sliding glass door locks for us, and since they did their work, the door locks have been working perfectly. The window installers, under Mike, did a great job installing windows that were large and in difficult locations. We have now had a year to see how they have held up to wind, rain, and cold weather and they are doing great. We are glad we went with Five Seasons. Then she tells me factory won't cover this but will see what she can do. Then get an email saying they will get it ordered and installed. Months go by, appointments to install keep getting canceled by them, and this goes on for two months. Then finally after 4 months the window guy shows with weatherstripping in his hand! I said that is not what needs to be fixed, he agrees. Call Tausha who tries to tell me that factory recommends installing this weather stripping to avoid more cracking. Umm what? I said that is not what needs fixed and was told you had ordered the brick mold around the window. Her response is "you want the brick mold replaced?" Umm, yes, that's what is cracked! Then she tells me well the warranty doesn't cover that. lol I ask for the owner to speak with him. Puts me on hold for 5 minutes then comes back on saying the owner will call you and come out and look and you guys can talk about it. Great! Well owner has yet to call or show up. Don't get suckered by this company with promises of lifetime warranty just to sell you windows. They lie 1000%! They have always done stellar work and carry high quality products. Unfortunately one of our Hunter Douglas shades of the mid 90s had a failed cord due to its extended use in a bedroom. When I called to see if it could be restrung, I learned the sad news that they cannot, due to federal safety laws regarding the child strangulation prevention measures of current manufacture. A good thing for children of course, but a complication for homeowners. We went out to their facility and worked with one of their designers and chose a shade similar enough in color and style to fit in our home. We ordered the product and waited about 4 weeks until it arrived. We picked it up and planning to install it ourselves, having done so for some of the older ones in the past. As it turned out, the method of install is so different now, the tools required and the shape of the brackets now also different, we were unable to do it. I called the designer and asked if we could have an installer after all. She contacted installation and got me the contact to set it up. Today the installer got here, a true professional, on time and with tools in hand, had it done in under 20 minutes. Nothing like having the skills and the tools and the height to do it with ease. We felt very fortunate and the price to do this was very reasonable. I will continue to use Innovative Openings for all of our window coverings. One more note, if you do have an older Hunter Douglas window shade product in your home with any small plastic fasteners or pull tabs for the old cord system that have cracked with age or high altitude sun exposure like ours, those parts can be ordered directly from Hunter Douglas online. It is simple to replace most of these parts. The parts are free and I was only charged a minimal shipping fee. I was able to get about 7 pieces. I was able to match colors for past products up to nearly 20 years old. I did those replacements myself. I even switched one to the same color but a different shape to better match the older blinds in the adjacent room. It's the internal cord system on the older blinds that they can no longer re-string. If you want to prevent replacing, be very gentle on them as they age.
