It was a short walk to the vehicle - Parking spot #2. Actually none of the spots would constitute a long walk! Upon returning - there is a second parking lot directly adjacent to the pick up lot - where you park your car, note your mileage, and then walk in to the Avis counter to drop off your keys and get your receipt. I was told NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE SINCE IT WAS PREPAID! Okay, no biggie. During our travels the front passenger seatbelt was not working properly. After I returned my car I noticed an extra charge that was not on my prepaid reservation total. Come to find out after my phone call inquiry the charge was for "returning my car 2 hrs early during business hours" and I would not be charged for the seatbelt not working properly, LOL, I didn't break the seatbelt and I got no compensation for this issue and I will supposedly be refunded the overcharge for returning early. MY PROBLEM IS THE CAR WAS PREPAID AND THEY TOLD ME AT THE TIME OF PICKUP THAT NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE TO RESERVATION BUT THEY SURE CAN MAKE CHANGES WHEN IT SUITS THEM BECAUSE OF ME RETURNING THE CAR EARLY DURING BUSINESS HOURS. With all the other rental companies out there, I will never use AVIS AGAIN!!

After arriving at Toledo Express Airport - I stopped at the Hertz counter to pick up our car - checked in with the agent - who was friendly and efficient. She handed me the contract and keys and told me which way to get to the car. I love that you walk outside and just around the corner is your car - which of course is in stark contrast to the good bit of traveling you have to do to get to your car at larger Airports. Our car was an almost brand new Ford something or other. It was very low mileage - and so new it had that new car smell when you got into the car. There is no Hertz Gold Express service here - but that is okay as it is a small Airport. Returning the car was also easy. We gassed up before returning, pulled into the return lot, noted our mileage, walked into the Terminal, hit the Hertz counter to drop off the keys - reported our mileage, and got a receipt from the Hertz agent. No fuss, no muss!

I was then informed they couldn't take my debit card because "This is the Toledo Airport and we only take major credit cards here." Oddly self important response. So I asked why my rate was to hand over my major credit (even though it's 2016 and everyone uses debit cards due to insane APRs and hacking) and he stated "ma'am, I would have no way of knowing what your rate is." Annnnnd done. Literally every other counter there takes major and debit cards, and you have way better options for car rentals at Toledo Express. I highly recommend you use them. Hertz was wonderful!
