My husband recently purchased two boards from here that we had cut at Budget. Not once was my husband shown the boards until they were handed to him after cutting because there were only a few boards in stock. When we got home, I noticed one was potentially full of mold and the other had a huge gash in it that was affected its integrity. When I tried to have them replaced, they said no - even though we didn't get to select the boards. They didn't return the boards, but kept them and then I had to buy a new board and they at least gave me new one board free that I got to pick out. It was a horrible experience and I wasn't trying to return bad boards I picked, they did the picking. Management didn't provide quality customer service and I know I will never go there again. The person who was at the register and the one who cut my new boards had supreme customer service - management can learn a thing or two from them. read more

There are some things in life that you can't unsee.. My first and probably only trip to this place was quite an experience. As I approached the cashier to checkout the lady at the register had her tongue hanging out was very slowly licking the side of her drink. After she noticed that I saw her, she finished licking her lips and cleaned her mouth with her hands..and then of course began to collect my belongings. Very sanitary. I don't think I'll ever return but here are my pros and cons.. Make Sure of What You Buy - Will NOT Accept Returns if you're not in their system. Bought 4 sections of Cinch metal railing and 7 posts with fasteners. Well over a thousand bucks. Could not install on our patio so all merchandise was in original packaging but Budget wouldn't take it back because they "purge" their system every two months. I've spent thousands of dollars here and have referred contractors here as well in order to support local businesses but NEVER AGAIN!! At least Home Depot and Lowes accepts returns. read more

Amazing lumber selection! Much much better than the product you'll find at chain stores like Home Depot. I'll attached a pic to show my point. Both images are of 2" x 6" x 8' kiln dried white wood. Using for a furniture project. Budget Home Supply had a large quantity of beautiful straight white wood. Took me only 5 mins to pick out the ones I wanted. Meanwhile compare to Home Depot wood with torn edges and cracks and patchy red color and gnarly knots that are falling out and creating holes. And at Budget Home Supply you get to drive your vehicle right into their lumber building, no need to put it on a cart & precariously navigate it around a crowded store. Just drive in, fill up your car, pay & leave (they just check receipt as you drive out). Genius. Another bonus - the BHS employees are knowledgeable! read more

Best customer service in Longmont! We took 5 screens to them to be replaced this morning at 10:00 a.m. and at 1:00, we got a call that they were ready to be picked up! Prices were much better than any of the other quotes we had gotten. We often find that Budget has items that other big box stores don't have and at a much cheaper price. The first time I shopped there was in around 2001... I've been a carpenter for forty years and each time I walk up to the contractors desk they all have a way of making me feel like I am intruding on their super cool world behind the desk and speak to me in a condescending manner or just plain short and rude. Therefore I only shop there when I absolutely have to, and yesterday I had to shop there and Morgan was rude and condescending in his initial greeting then acted like I was asking for something that did not exist... the man-boy is a rude child who does not even seem to know what he is selling, yet manages to act like he is smart and the customer is stupid. Stop acting like this is your private club and try being genuinely decent with your customers... learn what you stock and grow up Morgan. read more

We were very disappointed in the delivery we paid for from this business. The driver would not wait for us to unload items stacked on top on a 3' x 10' x 5.5" steel grate/pallet that it ended up we could barely lift to move to the side of our driveway so we could use our vehicles. We did not order this monstrosity and have no use for it. When we called the business to ask them to please pick it up, we were informed that we would have to pay the delivery fee again! This is unacceptable, and we are now stuck trying to figure out to dispose of this without having to pay someone to take it away or rent a vehicle with which to do this. Especially given that we paid $100 for the "convenience" of a delivery, we would advise future customers to look elsewhere when needing supplies delivered. read more

Very disappointed because we like to shop locally, but for home improvements I rather take it anywhere else where I can be treated like a customer. read more

This is the ONLY lumber/hardware/decking/interior store worth going to. The End. They have a very capable staff, and are locally owned, and carry an extensive array of what you actually need to get a project done, not a bunch of cheap junk like the box stores. Also, the indoor lumberyard has excellent quality lumber and variety, which you will also not find anywhere else. I am a contractor and am there almost daily. We purchased kitchen and bathroom Diamond Cabinets (at the lowest price we were offered anywhere) and could not be happier with the outcome. This place is great! I rented a gas powered weed trimmer today, took it home & used it for about 5 minutes. It ran fine, but due to my current health condition I had difficulty operating it (I'm not at 100% yet). So I returned it to the store and the guy behind the counter worked his magic on the computer and refunded my money! All of it! I didn't request a refund. I'm all for small town business and try to support them whenever I can, which I why I've tried this store so many times. I will not go back again. I used BHC for all of the years I lived in Longmont. Now I live in Boulder and still drive there whenever possible. The drive thru lumberyard and Kelly Moore paint make it really worthwhile. It's great that they have a lot of help on the floor with questions and finding stuff. I think of them as the McGuckins of Longmont. I had a bad experience with a custom order and the contractor they recommended to do the work. I tried to be very thorough in the questions I asked leading up to the order. Budget has good prices but is not a pleasant experience to shop at. The store is dark and feels dirty. When staff is available (seldom) they are often inexperienced and do not know what is in the store. In addition, they are often rude to customers. The managers just don't seem to care. The owner is great but seldom is on the floor and likely has no idea what goes on (the mice will play). On occasion they do stock things other places do not. I prefer shopping ACE hardware. They are a bit more expensive but the people are experienced and great. If not, Lowes and Home Depot are a better place to shop and have most needed items. read more
