I'm not even the paying customer My landlord purchased carpet for my very small apartment, and the installation company worked with me to set up installation the day after Memorial Day. I had to specially arrange a day off and coverage. Emptied as much of the living room as I could, per their instructions. An hour into their window,they called and canceled. Until Friday. I can't reschedule work, and reset, then unset the furniture. I'm 70, and have some conditions. Not important to them. They can only work weekdays, when I do, and take flimsy excuses from their contractors/employees, which I don't. They know people depend on them, and don't really care. I spent $400 on a hotel room, because I'm too old and busy to unset , reset, then unset my living room a couple of times at their convenience. Judging by what I've heard, I hope and pray they ACTUALLY do it on the second appointment. But I'm not counting on it. I hope the landlord can monitor them properly. Because for some reason. We purchased an "above the range" GE microwave oven from Home Depot. The product did not work after installation. Because it was after the 48 hour window, Home Depot wanted nothing to do with it. The technicians from GE were unable to fix the product and blamed Home Depot for the damage. Six weeks later, we still do not have a working microwave. The customer service offered by Home Depot Corp. and the Longmont store has been awful. When I asked Ashely, the customer service rep at Home Depot Corp, if it was acceptable for Home Depot to deliver damaged products, she replied that we should have purchased the 3 year extended warranty with our purchase. We are stuck with a brand new microwave that has been classified as "unrepairable" by the GE technicians who have tried to repair it. I will never shop at Home Depot again. read more

It's pretty easy. I bought a Homax 32 oz. White Tough as Tile Aerosol Tub, Sink, and Tile Refinishing Kit. Took it to a job. The first can spit paint all over the tub. The second can was so feeble pressure-wise, I knew there was something wrong with it. Stopped the job, drove back to Home Depot with receipt, swapped product, took it back to job, and the can didn't spray at all - nothing came out. Stopped the job again, took the product back, got a refund, drove to Lowe's, bought Homax 32 oz. White Tough as Tile Aerosol Tub, Sink, and Tile Refinishing Kit. Drove to job, the kit worked fine, mission accomplished. I know the people who work at Home Depot didn't personally screw up the cans of glaze I bought, but three strikes, you're out, bub. Nice people, though! Some really good people at Home Depot. Also some really dark, disturbed, slow, angry people at the paint counter. I didn't take it personally. The woman is nice. The two dudes that work there need to find another job. They don't care if you come or go, live or die, shop there or don't shop there. They need name plates reading "Eeyore" and "Louie DePalma." I love this place because I always get great advice and deals on my refinishing projects! Thanks to the Home Depot I was able to refinish this sewing machine cabinet I found on the side of the road by sanding the top, staining it, and then painting the bottom black. I ordered online an acrylic shower kit for a customer of mine. Online order was not working so I went into the local store to order and the order took about 45 minutes and HD was wanting to ship only to a home address. My customer is handicapped and shipping to my home was not an option as packages are constantly being stolen. I work almost 7 days a week at 10-12 hours a day. The clerk had the kit shipped to my store scheduled for feb 3rd. It arrived Jan 29th. I received 2 emails, text, HD emailed my wife and called me that day to come pick it up. A bit aggravating on notifications for an early delivery. I arrived to pick up the shower kit and it was missing the back wall portion, so I returned and it took an hour and 20 minutes to determine the store had a back wall in stock. It was never shipped and it would not have been shipped to a home address anyway. #1 Failure on HD part. I took the kit to the job for a quick 2 day instal and two of the walls were damaged. So I returned to my local store at 9:30am to figure out what to do as my handicapped customers shower has been completely removed. HD. wanted to order a new one at a 2 week delay on feb 12th. Then we found an in stock item in Longmont. I then drove to Longmont to get a new kit. This store was blocked on every isle boxes, carts, forklifts, on every isle I was attempting to go down to get to what I needed. An associate found the remaining kit and had to get a forklift. We had to move the kit 4 isles away to inspect the product as there was no room on any isles. I was unable to get a cart down the isles so I had to drag the box all the way to the contractor check out. As I was doing this I ran into a Steele column navigating the obstacles and got hurt. I've been working with back pain for two days on this. I did not get back to the job site until 3:30 Monday afternoon. My employees went home and I have lost all profit and am negative on this job over this. The original HD gave me $150 off however I am behind an entire day, $640 in employee wages, hurt in your store from the unorganized mess and $150 is supposed to make it better. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a Home Depot. When the Covid-19 crisis started Home Depot was very proactive and made the store easy to shop in given the limitations we all faced. They cleared the aisles since they are forcing everyone to check out through the center door which is not east with any sort of lumber and last I checked Home Depot was a lumber store. Now they have put all of the crap back in the aisles and the employees are no longer helpful and appear to simply abandon their tasks at hand leaving the aisles cluttered with carts for online orders and whatever else they were working on when they decided to go to lunch or whatever. Absolutely terrible. Please get your act together. This is completely unacceptable. read more

If you are looking for carpet.... don't look here. Please let me save you time and headache. I chose a carpet with a geometric pattern for two bedrooms and a shot hallway. A man came and spent 45 minutes measuring and drawing the floor plan of the space. I thought... so thorough... we are in good hands. I was away on install day. I received 3 phone calls from installers, asking for more money, due to having to move more furniture. ( we ordered tohr carpet during a Home Depot promo of no charge for moving furniture...) When I returned home.. I was shocked. The carpet pattern was glaringly crooked. It was so bad that even a teenage boy noticed and asked "what happened?" Install was back in April. I've gone round and round with Home Depot and Home Solutions. They sent out a rep to analyze the job. I spent almost an hour with him. He was flabbergasted. Said he never would've installed the geometric pattern in this space. The initial tech who measured should've let me know. HD gave a credit and committed to make this right. We tried several ideas. Two days ago , after being offered additional money, I said they could keep the additional compensation and come reinstall. Collin, who was so nice to work with, said ok. Go pick out a carpet. Two days later, today, I received a call, saying management had decided we would get a $100 discount on a reinstall.... and pay the rest. Holy cow. I am in disbelief. We would just like the rooms to look nice. Not looking for more than a fair deal. I hate leaving negative comments, but I wish I would've been warned. read more

What was once a reasonably good store has become a frustrating disappointment. The isles are devoid of employees. Impossible to any help. Get someone to call for a department person, wait 15 mins for someone who knows nothing. I recently bought a place in Phoenix, and the Home Depot there had actual staff, in the isles, and they know things. This Longmont store needs new management. Shelves are in disarray, inventory is never correct, and the staff are indifferent and not knowledgeable. A waste of my time to shop here. read more

You are going to pay more at Ace Hardware, but at least they have people on the floor that know a bit about what they are selling. At least they make it easy to return stuff. If you want to buy an appliance with installation, please think twice about Home Depot. Your local appliance store may cost a couple of dollars more upfront, but will save you in the end. Be very wary of Home Depot installation services and post-sale customer service. From my experience, Home depot places very little importance on a customer once they receive your money. Accountability and issue resolution are not in the Home Depot vocabulary. You may save a couple of dollars on the appliance purchase...yes...but you'll pay with inconvenience, lack of customer service, and frustration related to customer service incompetence. I purchased a dishwasher with installation in Nov 2016 from Home Depot. The installation fee included remove of the existing dishwasher and installation of the new dishwasher. The installers totally destroyed the old dishwasher upon removal, damaged our countertop during installation, and broke the new dishwasher during installation. They loaded up both dishwashers and said they would order a new dishwasher. Fine, but now we were left with no dishwasher and a hole in our cabinets. Two days went by with no word, follow-up, or resolution by Home Depot. The installation hot line is a nightmare also. Home Deport outsources the installation services to GE Appliances, who in turn, outsources to another service company. A decision that Home Depot made to save money ahead of customer service. In the end, no one can give you a complete answer, each group defers to the other, and no one takes responsibility. This included management at the Longmont CO Home Depot. After much personal time expense dedicated to multiple (4-5) phone calls, I was able to piece together a resolution...although the resolution did not meet my expectations. It's obvious that customer needs aren't a concern on Home Depot once the check clears. A new dishwasher was ordered, but we were placed at the end of the queue for installation. No special effort was made to resolve a problem that they caused in the first place. We will be without a dishwasher for a21 days total due to Home Depot incompetence and indifference. I'm assuming that they can get it correct this second time, but history is not on their side. We held a holiday party with guests seeing an ugly hole in our cabinets and broken countertop granite. Not an optimal situation. We also spent two hours cleaning dishes after the party. Yes...first-world problem...I agree...but we would have been much better off if we never purchased the dishwasher from Home Depot in the beginning...an old dishwasher performs better than the hole in my cabinets. I used to pass a Lowe's all day to go to Home Depot due to the amazing customer service, however over the past several years (at least in the Denver metro area) Home Depot had lost its customer service touch and I would go wherever was closer. My experience at the Home Depot in Longmont today exceeded my expectations. It's inherently intimidating to walk into a hardware store as a woman, however I was stopped/greeted, and asked if I needed help by no less than 4-5 people during my short trip around the store. Not only that, the associates seemed not only happy to provide assistance, but eager to make sure their answer as far as the location of something was accurate by inquiring with a nearby associate when needed. And it wasn't just me... I saw several other people being helped. THIS is the Home Depot I remember and feel so welcome to. Thank you Home Depot Longmont for such an amazing experience! read more

Just left this Home Depot and got a magic chef 6.9 freezer chest on sale for $168!! Yesterday it was $199 Aside from the Labor Day sale going on right now that started today I think the time of day may have affected our services. It was around 7:30 pm and getting help was an issue, didn't see anyone around and when you did finally see someone and made eager eye contact they kinda just kept walking. (But with a smile, haha why?) But when I finally did grab someone they were nice, helped load the freezer on the cart but made no offer to load it in the car. Another thing was, I called the Westminster Home Depot and their appliance department picked up right away. This Home Depot took 3 calls and waiting five minutes on the third call to finally speak to someone. I love most Home Depot's. Cheaper and more knowledgeable than Lowe's. This is the exception to the rule. I can only speak to the door and window department but their service was so egregious when ordering my storm door that I not only cancelled the install but will never go to this Home Depot again. If you are thinking of using their "pro installation" service you are better off with thumbtack or craigslist. The store told me they have a hard time getting in touch with the "pros" and that many customers simply give up and wait for them to call. It took over a week after the delivery for them to call. By that time I had made other arrangements and the "pro" sounding relived said "great, glad to hear it, have a good day". read more

If you want the run-around, come here. Placed an order for a new front door with sidelights in April. Waited until mid July to receive the door. Home Depot received the door and sat on it for 2 weeks, never contacting me to let me know it was in. I started receiving messages from their installer asking when they could come install the door. I called Home Depot several times trying to get them to work with the installer to get things taken care of. Finally, after no results, I had to ask for a manager who scheduled the delivery of the door to my house. The morning of the delivery, I received a call from Home Depot saying there was a ding on the door, but they would deliver it to me, and I could decline if the door wouldn't work for me. When the delivery team arrived they showed me the door, which had a gouge in the middle of the frame. This wasn't going to work for me for an $8000 door. So I declined and the guys took the door back to the store. I then called customer service to let them know, and they said they'd call me and refund me (I didn't want to reorder and go through all this again) once the door had been processed as received. I was supposed to receive a call later that day, but still no call two days later, so I called and couldn't get through to anyone and was disconnected twice. I decided I would have to get this sorted out in person. I went to customer service today and told them who had been working with me. The gal told me that lady wasn't in today but would be in tomorrow. I said I needed to take care of it today and didn't want to come back down tomorrow. Then shortly after, that exact lady I was talking about happened to walk into the customer service area. Anyway, the first gal got a manager to come over and help me. The lady who was supposed to call me said the door hadn't been received back to Home Depot. Then after I shared more details of the delivery story, she remembered the door had indeed been received. So I could finally receive my money back. They asked if I wanted to reorder the door. Ahh, no thank you. I would rather pay a little more to a company that isn't going to jerk me around. i have been going to this Home Depot for a pretty long time and I have never had any issues with finding what I was looking for or getting someone to help me find what I needed. To me the prices are a bit high compared to what I can get them online for, but everywhere locally has the same things for that price so I don't really fault them for that. The store to me has appeared clean and organized and I don't recall a time when I have gone in and seen giant empty gaps of inventory where things haven't been restocked. The only real downside I can comment on is the available people at registers. Most of the time I have gone in there I have only seen 1 or 2 registers open to take in people and both of them have lines of 6 or 7 people. Looking down the store I see ~9 other checkout lanes but they are never in use. So unless you go early in the morning or late at night before close during the week don't expect to get in and out of the store in under a half hour if you're trying to be quick. If you have large items you can expect an even longer wait so plan accordingly. read more

I have a 75 year old house in Longmont and a cabin in the mountains; which means I'm usually fixing something. Or a couple of things. Not many weeks go by without a visit to a hardware store. Home Depot is on my way home from work, so I tend to default to HD. Every time I do, I leave angry that I didn't take the extra effort to go to Budget Home Center instead. Another reviewer said "the staff really knows their stuff". How do you know? Did you marry an employee? I rarely can find someone to help, and on the rare occasion I do, they act like they need to be someplace else. The wood selection is truly grim. Try to find a 2x4 that is straight or knot-free. Or dry. The service is so bad, I've written the store manager twice and the CEO once; and never gotten a response. I'm not a negative guy, and I think this is my first single star rating. Maybe all Home Depots aren't bad, but especially when there are far better hardware/lumber stores in town, going here makes me crazy. read more

I decided to replace a window yesterday, since snow and cold temps are headed our way, and the previous home owners decided to use their amateur carpentry skills to build a single pane window w/ 1/2" air gaps in the frame, in the master bedroom, needles to say they didn't use flashing and there was water damage everywhere, hmmm time to review housing inspectors.... Anyhow, I talked to the master carpenter there & was schooled on window installation, including sketches in 5 mins time. I walked out of there knowing what to do to fix the hack's job, the right way. Needless to say, 24hrs later my R rating is up by at least 2 points and there isn't a breeze in our bedroom anymore, and the wife is smitten. read more

Bought everything from plants to fencing, cleaners, to light fixtures, and tile and flooring here... so, when it came time for a big project, I thought HOme Depot would treat me right. I was wrong. I was promised calls from vendors that NEVER came, because supposedly they did not have the correct phone number, even though they had provided the correct phone number to the Counter Top vendor (THEY had NO trouble contacting me). I sent emails over a 2 week period and left 2 phone messages. Nothing. Once we made it over that hurdle, the cabinet order needed to be altered with SMALLER cabinets on the top, well, they claim they could not just change those cabinet sizes they had to re-do the ENTIRE order. This is after they have been paid for, for almost a month (and I was paying interest on a HELOC loan). Then, I am informed the cabinets (I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR) are now more expensive and I will have to pay an additional $1700 for them. NOPE. I was very frustrated and irritated and was told that "maybe you need to go calm down before we continue talking about this." Really? No offer to try and help, no apologies, just a "you need to calm down." After speaking to the Assistant Manager of the store (Nisha?, Nicia?), I was promised she would call me that evening... Nope. No call. No response from her at all actually (its been 4.5 days). I was told that if I decided to have my money refunded to me, that all I had to do was call today. Well, Guess what? I called. If you're buying and installing a countertop, I'm sorry to say that you'll need to work with a woman named Kate at ISI. She's a very unpleasant person. Very argumentative. Very brash. The customer is wrong, and she is right. The whole process would have gone smoothly if she had been taken out of the mix. However, she was unwilling to look up my original order to see that I had prepaid for the tear-out, claimed I never did pay for the tear-out, then didn't schedule tear out or install until I did pay, and she didn't communicate to me that the order had been put on hold. So go in on the defensive, and if you can work with someone else, even better. read more
