I remember taking the kids here when they were little and that was over 10 years ago. We came over from over the East Bay to beat the heat and brought our pup. When trying to decide where to get dinner on Main Street, we couldn't make a decision. My husband suggested Cameron's so we drove over. Dog Friendly: Lucked out with a spot in front of the patio! Lucked out with a table (anywhere) to sit with our dog. They offer water bowls and toys to play with while we're dining. My dog was able to chill for the most part (larger dogs make our rescue pup nervous) but he liked the couple behind us. Eclectic: It's a cool place with different dining areas. They were setting up for Karaoke (Friday/Saturday nights). There's so much to explore with all the knick knacks. The playlist in the dining room area was a wide range of music - I don't know how to explain it but you're listening to "It's a Small World" and then "Sweet Caroline!" You have to see it for yourself. The gender assigned restrooms are located in between the pinball machines. I literally walked outside and then walked back in when I finally found it and was embarrassed! Food: We split the special of the day - prime rib sandwich, but my husband was still hungry and we split a sampler platter. The food was what I expected - pub grub but it was worth it with the vibe. very fun little pub. Lots of interesting kitsch on the walls, and a cute little selection of odds and ends for sale. The food was good, could have been a little better, I had fish and chips and partner had the shepards' pie. The fish and chips were good I would totally eat them again. But the shepard's pie was not good. It was completely unseasoned. He tried adding some HP sauce to a few bites, adding salt and pepper, and just could not make it edible. he was really disappointed because that is one of his favorites. I told him he should mention it and see if they could bring him something else, but he was adamant that would just make more work for them and he'd feel bad. I did remind him that shepards' pie is not a very seasoned meal. And he said it wasn't just that, but that everything tasted like it came out of tin. I reminded him, as a human who has lived in England, that this was also not out of the ordinary. We did decide we'd try it again next time we were over that way, and he already has chosen something else to try, so the rest of it (including his Mango Cider) was good enough to have him not give up on it. This place was great. The pub is very funky, with all sorts of old beer cans on the walls and lots of kitschy items decorating the space. They have a number of arcade games as well. The beer selection is quite good: they have a number of solid beers on draft like Old Speckled Hen and Kilkenny. The service was also good: we were greeted and seated promptly, and our server checked in on us frequently. I really liked the food. I got the beef pastie and it was a nice comfort food on a cool foggy Half Moon Bay evening. The beef and peas were well seasoned, the pastry was nice, and the gravy was tasty. My wife got the artichoke soup and was blown away. It was rich, a little creamy, and very flavorful. I also appreciated the bread bowl it was in had a toasted top. I love Cameron's! It's a must whenever we go to Half Moon Bay. The fish and chips is my favorite dish to order. The fish fillets are quite full, and the fries and perfectly fried. The coleslaw is amazing! I also got a clam chowder bowl. The chowder is a but bland but with a little salt and pepper, it was good. I enjoyed the bread bowl, the chowder definitely is better suited if you get bread along with it. The seafood platter is also a must! Perfectly crispy, fried seafood. Besides the food, I truly believe our experience was overall great because of our server, Rachel! Rachel was so kind, and communicative. It's been quite sometime since I've been to Cameron's Inn Restaurant of Half Moon Bay. I'm always astonished by the wild decor inside! Upon entering there's wall to wall signage, ads, stickers, pictures, posters, props, trinkets, conversation pieces galore. You could spend a day just admiring the decorations and appreciate the time dedicated to make the place as amusing as it is! The food is anything and everything you'd expect from a pub/ burger joint. Full bar and flat-screens throughout to enjoy your favorite ball team or boxing match. We tackled the famous Fish N Chips and were not disappointed. Also had the Sweet Potato Fries and Garlic Fried Calamari. I would have to say "Fried" is a popular way to have your food if you come to Cameron's. This was our first time in and I was wowed at the entrance. This place is pretty cool. There are so many decorations we never ran out of things to talk about. We were allowed to pick our own seating and decided on a little nook with red lite ambulance. We were well taken care of by the staff upon being seated. Very rude bartender. After ordering and receiving our food, I needed a spoon and some napkins. I walked to the bar politely and waited. No one else was around. The bar tender told me quite clearly: I need this area to remain clear. Let me be clear. There was no server waiting for that spot at the bar. There were almost no other patrons at this establishment at this time. I am a paying customer who obviously is standing quietly and needing assistance. I'm 63 years old, and very polite. Fun, kitschy joint in Half Moon Bay with warm service and lots of fried options. Would definitely recommend trying Cameron's to round off a visit to Half Moon. The decor is all about MAXIMALISM -- think Chilis/Applebees/Cracker Barrel style but with a decidedly British take, innit. Fish and chips is the clear classic here. The London Tower of onion rings was a fun way to start the meal, and the extensive beer menu was just what we were hoping for from a British pub. Be prepared for a bit of heartburn after the meal -- it's fried pub food, after all -- but the plentiful parking out front means you don't have a long walk from the table to the car. The real highlight, however, was our server -- she was a local schoolteacher in Half Moon Bay and went out of her way to help us feel welcomed and celebrate our weekend vacation in her town. A weird thing, and maybe only I find this weird, but the cloth napkins are made from the cheapest crappiest material -- please just use paper napkins. Putting that aside, the service was nice, the women are working their butts off and it shows. I got the clam chowder $9 and the fish and chips. $9 for a cup of ok chowder is too much, I would not order it again. The fish and chips is a big portion and were really good until the greasiness of it just got to be too much. I only finished half of it-- just too fried and too greasy. Every time in half moon bay(more often than is reasonable) I've always made sure to end the day by winding down for a bit at Cameron's. It's about the experience here more than anything and the decor is packed with an incredible amount of variety and there's history everywhere. The food is more than serviceable, lots of crispy fried foodstuffs, good pizza and friendly people. I'd say it's worth visiting at least once. read more

There is such a wide range of reviews for this place that it was a little hard to get an idea of what we would be experiencing from Yelp alone. Some people seem to love this place, other hate it and some still find it hum ho. I'm glad we stopped in to decided for ourselves. The pub has a small parking lot and from the moment you enter, there is lots to see. There is a double decker bus and a phone booth, a beefeater and stocks and they even have a place to "lock your love". Plus their are tons of little knickknacks and decor to see as well. We had our dog with us, so we settled on the outdoor patio and my husband went inside to get some menus. The interior is covered in decor and memorabilia. You can sit at the bar or they have plenty of tables. They have video games and clean bathrooms and they were even having an open mic night on a small stage in the back when we were there. They also have merch you can buy. I ordered the Shepherd's pie and my husband had Cameron's Killer Burger. I had read a lot of reviews about bad service and frozen microwave food so I wasn't sure what to expect, but our experience was good. My shepherds pie was warm and homey with good flavor and my husband really enjoyed his burger. The server came once to check on us about 3 minutes after we got our food lol but it was clear she was making sure she did it and that she knew it was early, but it was still appreciated. It got too chilly for me on the patio and they do not have outdoor heaters, so I took our dog and headed back to the car after we finished eating while my husband went inside to pay the bill. For $60 after tip, we had a really tasty meal and a cool little experience. I would say that was money well spent. read more

Well, I would first say that Cameron's is a must stop at least once in your Half Moon Bay series of journeys. Just walking into the pub, it's complete sensory overload with interesting items - on the walls, on the ceiling, around the grounds. I give it 1 bonus star just for the ambiance. Decent beer list, full bar so they have the drinks covered. I had the red ale, my buddy had Racer 5 (and was happy they had it) so we're off to a good start. The food menu is pretty big. You can expect that stuff is gonna be fried. Two of our party had the Cameron's Killer Burger (bacon, swiss and mushrooms). Good greens, big burger that was a little hard to eat on the ciabatta. Be sure to ask for medium rare - not sure our server even asked and this might be a place where you get your burger one way - well done. These burgers were very well done....hammered. Not great...Another of us had the seafood platter - lots o' fried seafood - just okay. I went traditional (hey Union Jacks are everywhere - it's an English pub), and went Shepherd's Cottage Pie. Good mashed, plenty of food. If the meat could have had a little more seasoning and it would have been killer. But, it was a nice dish. Service was very good (it was a Wednesday so not that busy). I've always wanted to eat here because I've been seeing that double-decker bus for so many years. I finally had the opportunity to come here for dinner after a long drive and hike with my dog. I was craving fish and chips and a cold beer. I walked in the front and was greeted right away. I was told I could sit anywhere and asked if their restaurant was pet friendly. They said it was both inside and outside. I chose to sit outside because my dog is not fond of strangers. Luckily, their patio area was EMPTY. My dog could be free to be himself and not worry about people or other pets. I was pretty suspicious as to why this place was so empty on a Saturday evening. It's usually a tell-tale sign that the food is not that great. Every restaurant is packed on Saturdays along Highway One. I ordered the fish and chips with a beer to drink. Food came out quickly. I was instantly disappointed because I could tell that the entire meal was fresh from the freezer. The fish looks like the stuff I buy at Safeway when I want a quick dinner. We're right by THE OCEAN! Where's the fresh fish?! Ugh. $17 for frozen food that I could make at home! Anyway, I did eat everything because I was starving. I finished, and the staff had completely forgotten about me. I waited 40 minutes for my check. I guess that was okay since I wanted to sober up. 2/5 for this place. Service is spotty, and serving freezer food at a high price is not cool. Ambiance, pet friendly accommodations, and close access to the beach are the only things going for this place. For fish and chips, I think I'll stick to Camelot in Pacifica. read more

They also have a small British grocery store. An inn that was built in the; late 1800s A British phon booth and a double Decker bus as part of their decorations I had their awesome fish n chips with coleslaw. and a diet pepsi.. Absolutely the worst, rudest service I've encountered in years. We spent the day in Monterey and then drove up the coast. We've eaten here a few times before and decided we would have dinner there. We usually just order and sit in the bar because they do have a nice selection of beers. We arrive, grab a table, husband heads to the restroom and I go up to the bar to order our beers and get a menu. Now I'm not off to the side where the bartender can't see me and he looks in my direction a few times. No "hi I'll be right with you". Absolutely zero acknowledgment. Guy walks up and he turns to him and gets him something and they make a joke about "oh you owe $140" and the guys says "I'll split the difference with you" clearly a regular so ok I guess that means he gets to just cut the line. I wait. And wait. I mean at this point I'm just curious how long this will go on. Mind you it's like 4:15 so the bar/restaurant is pretty empty. Husband comes back "you're still waiting?" He asks. Yep. So I head to the restroom. I get back and the same thing happened to him. He is standing there holding money and the bartender turns to the one guy sitting at a stool and asks "do you want another beer". I'm like that's it we're out of here. On my way out I walk over to the hostess area. There are three woman there. They don't look up for a while. Finally one just looks at me. Doesn't say anything just stairs at me. I looked at her and said "well we tried to have dinner" then she says "oh" and still looks confused. I figured if they were nice or offered a table we would stay. Nope. She finally says something like of did you want a table but it was kind of a mumble so I'm not sure. I get it when people are slammed but this guy literally served everyone around us for like 10-15 minutes with zero acknowledgement in a mostly empty bar. It was weird. We came in here on an early Saturday afternoon. The place was not very busy which we like, so we sat in the back bar which was quiet. That didn't last long. A group of locals came in and brought their dogs. Don't get me wrong I love dogs, but they started barking at each other non-stop and running around the room. We quickly finished our food and got out of there. The food was good. Fish and chips, pizza, and clam chowder. I ordered hot tea for beverage. While they do have malt, they don't carry black teas of any sort. I gave 4stars for the atmosphere and service was supar. I am not sure whether I was up-charged or the menu just stayed the same but the price increased without the notice. I was upcharged for my chowder and my boston cream pie. Holy crap this place was amazing. My husband is Irish and it was amazing to watch him here. The food was fabulous. The people were even better. So many cool things to look at and absorb.
