No towels, no soap, no heat, no TV reception, no internet. The only other thing missing was a guy with a chainsaw wearing a hockey mask.

Inexpensive. But if all you need is a place to crash, then this is it. Nice people. Clean rooms. Why pay more?

I stayed at this Inn the night before visiting the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. This…read moreInn is definitely in the perfect location as far as proximity to the Museum goes - it's just down the street. Perfect! The Inn prefers that you check in during a certain time period so they can ensure they're there to greet you. I had a meeting that resulted in a late arrival on my part, so I called ahead to let them know when I would be arriving and they accommodated easily and kindly. When you arrive, you park at the back of the residence, but you enter at the front of the residence. Those with mobility issues should take note and plan ahead for that. Along that same line, this property does not appear to be wheelchair accessible. All of the rooms I saw were upstairs and the entrance required several stairs to access the porch. However, I may have just not seen other options - calling ahead to ask may be best to make sure. I was greeted by Adrian, who checked me in and showed me around. She was very attentive about what I could/would eat for breakfast the next morning, which implies a lot of experience on her part and being conscientious about not wasting food. I definitely appreciated that. I stayed in the Hurd Room, which was perfect for my needs. I was there in October and the room had a small space heater provided for use, which I was very very grateful for. I know that I'm more sensitive than most to cooler temperatures, so while most people would probably have been fine, I appreciated being able to make the room fit my preferences on my own. There is a large array of movies that you can borrow to watch, most of which are older and asking classic lines which is nice to take a step back and enjoy. There were also cookies and tea available through the evening. I've seen other reviews and noted myself that some bathroom areas can be quite small. However, I saw that as a result of converting Victorian spaces into modern lodging areas. Areas were simply smaller in that era than we're used to now and keeping the integrity of the space has the natural result of cozier accommodations. I personally didn't mind any of it, but I can see how others might. The bed was comfortable, but be aware that this is a typical Kansas town that was built around a railroad station. So trains still run through there very frequently and at all hours of the night. If that will disturb your sleep, plan accordingly. I honestly don't think you can stay anywhere near the museum without that aspect. Breakfast the next morning started with a yogurt, fruit, and granola parfait. Adrian makes the granola herself on site. The entree for that morning was French toast with a fruit reduction and bacon. It was very nice. Overall, it was a very nice stay in a historic home with prices very comparable to any local hotel.

What did I appreciate: lots of hot water in shower, a chair and light in room for reading, breakfast, location near downtown ( walking distance to restaurants). No serious complaints, except the bed was hard for my tastes. Suggestions: spruce up the room a bit by adding a pleasant bed cover. I just read another review and am appalled to hear they screen for "traditional couples only". If that's not true, please tell me and I will eliminate this comment. If it's true , I'm sorry to have supported your business with my stay

Andy answered the phone and he was pleasant and fun, reassuring me he would be available to check us in. He was true to his word, and made the process very easy and efficient. We found our rooms at the top of the stairs (approx 5). The room was adequate for the cost, clean and just what we needed. The breakfast- not so great, but the coffee was good, and I was able to find some juice. Cold cereal and a waffle maker that was about it. My only other negative comment was housekeeping knocked on our door early (ahead of checkout) which caused some confusion as I thought it was our daughter . Once the staff realized we were still in the room they apologized profusely. Now onto the reason why my rating despite the negatives is so high. I inadvertently left my pillow, and unfortunately discovered it when we were already too far away to go back. I contacted the front desk, Sheila who were able to determine my pillow had been located. I gave them my address for forwarding it to our future destination, and told them the next week would be fine. Fast forward, arrived in Texas and no package with pillow. Contacted hotel staff again, Manisha, this time who stated she would check with the morning staff and call back. No return call, and this is a week and a half later. Contacted them again a few days later, and was told by the morning staff, Andy, who originally checked us in that the pillow would be located and sent to my home address as I had now returned back to California. I thought, "I'm never going to see that pillow again." Miracle- I go to the post box two days later, and there it is - WoW thanks Andy!!! I feel like I got my old friend back again, and enjoying a comfortable rest once more. Thank you to all the staff at Super 8 Wyndham Abilene Kansas.

We were involuntarily downgraded from two queens and a couch to two double beds for four people, and were not allowed to RENT -- not borrow -- a rollaway bed, leaving half our group sleeping on the floor. Drom Sott (which means "sweet dreams" in Swedish) feels like you're staying in someone's cozy home. The rooms are impeccable and everything is arranged just so. The bed is super comfortable. The lobby has large couches and chairs tucked into nooks that you can relax in. My room was on the smaller side, but it was perfect for a single person (which I visited as) or two people who don't mind sharing a small room. A generous Scandinavian buffet breakfast is included with your stay. Options at breakfast included crepes with lingonberry jam, hardboiled eggs, herring, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and lots more. My favorite part of Drom Sott: Adult guests are welcome to visit the wine bar downstairs during their stay for a glass of complementary wine. Or two! There are also some little nibbly things (pretzels and Chex mix-ish snacks) to eat as you drink your wine. I drank my wine and then left the hotel to explore the cute Swedish neighborhood. Drom Sott is located in downtown Lindsborg, within walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars.
