This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was filthy, the toilet didn't flush properly, and the smoke detector had no batteries. We were involuntarily downgraded from two queens and a couch to two double beds for four people, and were not allowed to RENT -- not borrow -- a rollaway bed, leaving half our group sleeping on the floor. The breakfast was the final straw: every item tasted off or sour, even the waffle. I could only manage an extremely stale peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I wouldn't even give this dump a single star if that were an option. The property is filthy inside and out, but nothing can truly prepare you properly for the experience of actually walking into the room. That's IF you can even get the door to open. I have never seen such a disgusting room. If it has been cleaned in the past 5 years it was by a blind person. The bed was falling off of the frame and sagged to the left. Pubes, bedbugs, dirt, hair, stains on EVERYTHING, missing light bulbs, spider webs that could hold the giant Lord of the Rings spider, dust bunnies and a film on every surface. I checked in and out in under ten minutes. I'll never stay in Abilene again. DISGUSTING!!!! read more

This motel was one of the few choices in this town. It was dark and dirty. The woman at the front desk was nice. The breakfast was basic continental food. Nothing stood out. On my way back to the room after breakfast I fell in the hall on the last step because I didn't see it. I lie on the floor for a while because it caught me completely off guard. They either need more light or clean the dark dirty Carpet. Lucky I didn't break anything but I did get bruised up. Not a good thing being oh vacation. There also was someone smoking pot in the room next to us. Luckily we only smelled it in the hall not through our walls. I definitely don't recommend this motel. read more

I can't really give a review because I didn't stay there even though I had a reservation. Why? I saw there was an old sofa right outside the door. There was a handwritten sign on door that said no food, no restrooms, water... creepy. The desk clerk was very polite when I cancelled. read more

We stayed here arriving very late, around 10:30. I had contacted the hotel in advance to alert them of our late arrival.. Andy answered the phone and he was pleasant and fun, reassuring me he would be available to check us in. He was true to his word, and made the process very easy and efficient. We found our rooms at the top of the stairs (approx 5). The room was adequate for the cost, clean and just what we needed. The breakfast- not so great, but the coffee was good, and I was able to find some juice. Cold cereal and a waffle maker that was about it. My only other negative comment was housekeeping knocked on our door early (ahead of checkout) which caused some confusion as I thought it was our daughter . Once the staff realized we were still in the room they apologized profusely. Now onto the reason why my rating despite the negatives is so high. I inadvertently left my pillow, and unfortunately discovered it when we were already too far away to go back. I contacted the front desk, Sheila who were able to determine my pillow had been located. I gave them my address for forwarding it to our future destination, and told them the next week would be fine. Fast forward, arrived in Texas and no package with pillow. Contacted hotel staff again, Manisha, this time who stated she would check with the morning staff and call back. No return call, and this is a week and a half later. Contacted them again a few days later, and was told by the morning staff, Andy, who originally checked us in that the pillow would be located and sent to my home address as I had now returned back to California. I thought, "I'm never going to see that pillow again." Miracle- I go to the post box two days later, and there it is - WoW thanks Andy!!! At night the room looked clean but it wasn't. I was asleep when my husband noticed dog fur on his socks. The next morning, we both had pet fur allergy symptoms (cough, runny nose, watery eyes). We turned on the lights, opened the curtains and discovered TAN DOG FUR ON ALL THE TAN FURISHINGS (floor, bedspread, chair, and ottoman)! We showed the front desk clerk pictures with the dog fur and asked for a full refund. She was only authorized to return 10% so called the owner. He did not apologize, blamed us for not asking for another room then requested we email him details. Still haven't heard back from him. We contacted corporate. They issued points for a future stay. For years we searched out Super 8's as they had basic, clean rooms at affordable prices. Post pandemic staying at a Super 8 is like a crap shoot. Not staying at Super 8's in the future. read more

I had seen the other reviews before I wrote them, and I guarantee your overly flattering comments would turn for the worse if you stay in room 318. The cigarette scent hits you like a freight train when you first walk in. Obviously was smoked in recently, hair and grease everywhere, and we even found a used towel in the bathroom. very low amount of breakfast options. Would not recommend. read more

It's not a horrible hotel, and the prices for the rooms are very cheap. There was a microwave, refrigerator, good water pressure in the shower, plenty towels, and other expected items. But there are several flaws: 1). The room was quite dark. The only lighting in the room came from the lamps, which weren't too bright. When I first walked in, I also couldn't find the lamps, so I was stumbling in the dark looking for light. 2). The heating system wasn't good. I arrived on a cold winter night (below 20 degrees), so I put on the highest heat setting as soon as I walked in. The room did warm up, but not as much as I'd expect. The bathroom stayed cold, which was annoying when I had to shower. 3). The front desk was asleep or something when I walked in at around 7PM. I had to wait a while for somebody for show up. 4). The room was quite small. I had a double bed room. With the table, fridge, microwave, tv, and other stuff, there was hardly any space for moving around, exercising, or walking, if you wanted to. 5). The heater occasionally made a squeaking noise that was mildly irritating. I thought a mouse was in my room at first. Overall -- not necessarily bad, but not good either. Stay here if you want to save money for one night. read more

It was right off the freeway, it was reasonably priced, it was clean. When you are dead tired and you aren't picky it's fine. Furniture and fixtures are a bit worn, but the bathrooms were very clean and everything worked. Continental breakfast was nothing special. read more

One of eight Super8s I stayed at during a cross-country trip. I was traveling with my dog, & this was the first one in which the room was a designated pet room (sign on door). Also the first one that had tiled, rather than carpeted floors...felt a little like staying in a basement laundry room. I understand the practicality of pet-proof flooring, but some subfloor heating or at least nicer tile would've made this nice for both parties, instead of being so dank & cold. In addition, this was the first Super8 I stayed at that did not have a microwave in the room, nor any art whatsoever on the room's walls. This appears to be a newer building, yet the room tv was an old analog box TV, not a flat screen. I had no option for a single bed, so had to pay extra for a double. Ugly floral bedspreads didn't match the stylish, modern ones found at other Super 8s. There was very little cold water pressure in the sink. The room was adjacent to housekeeping's storage room, so the hallway was often noisy & cluttered and doors were being slammed during quiet hours. There is no lock on the rear door of the building, so not great security. The electric wall heater took a long time to heat the room. On the plus side, the hallways & room smelled cleaner than any of the other Super 8s, the exterior grounds were also cleaner, and the rear parking lot had lots of room. It may be that only the designated pet rooms here are spartan. But I would recommend looking at other hotels before this one. read more

Nope! This WAS a decent place to say a couple years ago. It's changed owners faster than a bad used car. At least 3 that I've heard of. Loud highway noise inside, loud guests, dirty facilities. apartments on the second floor according to their map at the front desk. Spend a few extra bucks and get a room down the street if you want to get some sleep. read more

The manager was extremely rude. We had a group doing a local fundraiser to support local businesses and during our stop to the bowling ally next door to the hotel he came out and began to harass us by telling us we weren't allowed to park in "his" parking lot, threatening to tow all of us. We ended up leaving and was unable to support the local business. He also called the cops, which whom gave us a friendly wave to us as we rode off. read more

The staff is nice, but that is the best I can say. I had a roach in my room, God knows what else. The ac works nice, but I have to say the place is a bit on the dirty side. the chair was stained, the carpet really needed replaced. Here is the test to ask yourself: There are all kinds of warning signs about stealing towels and using drugs in rooms (none of which I would say is alright to do), this location must have a problem with the clients that stay here. I would pass up this location. By the way, Abilene charges an arm and a leg for taxes on top of the advertised room rate- more than normal cities. I love visiting the Eisenhower Center, I would stay elsewhere. The Wi-Fi is slow at best. read more

A friend and I stayed here while we were on a road trip. We booked it through a third party booking agency and had no issues when checking in. Our room was on the "first" level, but you had to go down about five steps to get to that level (no big deal). The rooms faced an inside hallway and were accessible through the lobby or an outside door (which had to be opened with a room key). Our room and bathroom were clean and the beds were comfortable. The only small issue (which didn't affect us) was that the fridge was unplugged. We plugged it back in but even by the next day, it hadn't cooled off. We didn't need to use it, so that was fine. We did use the microwave and it worked fine. This was perfect for what we needed, a place to sleep for the night. The lady who checked us in was super nice (I can't remember her name though). We did enjoy the free breakfast the next day. It was simple stuff like cereal, fruit, or waffles, but it was just what we needed. We didn't use the pool so I can't comment on that. A good place to stay if you are passing through town. read more

There was some hair in the bathtub and the breakfast did not have much to offer, but the room was very nice and the hotel was safe. The people of Abilene are wonderful and helpful. I would recommend this hotel. read more
