These guys were great! They showed up right on time within the time window they gave me. The company was also super flexible when I needed to change my appointment by a day last minute due to closing issues with my house sale. The three guys that came were super friendly, made sure to take the time to ask me questions, take care of our delicate items, and pack everything up nice and safely. They completed the move of everything just a little over the expected time they had estimated but we were glad they didn't rush anything and everything went smoothly. I'm giving this company 5 stars because I have now unpacked all of my things and nothing was broken. Granted, I packed all the boxes with LOTS of bubble wrap, but loading an ABF trailer is a tough job. It's really important that everything be loaded very tightly since it gets jostled so much on the freeways moving across the country. I have to say, I had my doubts. It was terrifying to watch the team load our truck, so I eventually just stopped looking. However, when we reached Chicago and I watched the truck being unloaded, I was able to see just how expertly they layered our items and fit them snuggly so they would survive a cross country move -- including furniture that had glass doors! I felt the team worked slower than I would have liked, but like I said, loading a truck takes a lot of planning and thought and in the end it was worth the expense to have it done well. I have already been through one cross-country move where our truck was loaded BADLY. I'm glad Budget Movers proved to be a better experience! read more

Called on a Wednesday and Jim fit me in for a Friday move. The 3 guys I ordered showed up on time, were all in uniform and greeted us with a introduction and a handshake. We couldn't believe how efficient they were, we estimated a 8-9 hour move and they completed it in 6 hours. They protected our belongings like they were their own property and used every inch of the truck so multiple trips were not needed. It's hard to be impressed by a high level of customer service since you just can't find much of it these days but the service from Budget Movers was above and beyond. read more

I'll start with the positive; the two guys who showed up were friendly, and one in particular was very helpful, often offering to help set up or take down things. They were also very careful with my belongings, which is why I am giving them an extra star. However, it was a Sunday and the other admitted to being a bit hungover after "too many margaritas with the wife the night before." Anyway, I had everything packed up and color coded, as some stuff was going into storage, and the other was going into an apartment. Unfortunately, the color coding did not work, as things that were supposed to go to storage ended up in my apartment and vice versa. Somehow, I also lost my Kindle that had been sitting on the counter. I suspect it was tossed into a box... I had spoken to the owner, a very nice man, and let him know exactly what I was moving and that I was downsizing from a 2200 square foot house to an 800 square foot apartment, and I deferred to his judgment as to whether two or three movers would be needed. He sent two. The move ended up costing me three times the estimate (and, like I said, some stuff was sent to the wrong place), and the one hungover mover kept telling me that I should have had more guys. He also said that the elevator at the storage unit slowed me down. Well, guess what...that's not helpful. I would have had more guys if someone had recommended that when I said what I had to move. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received. We rented AZ budget movers for the 21st of this month. We went with them because they had a low hourly rate compared to other moving companies. We needed them to move a 3bed house. All of our stuff was packed and in the garage so it was easy for them to move. The guys showed up at the time requested (9am) and were very nice. It took them in total 7 1/2 hours to move our house from Maricopa to Avondale. This is the longest a move has ever taken for us and it seemed like they were dragging their feet. When they left our first house in maricopa they stopped at the local gas station. My husband was following the truck and also pulled into the gas station. They sat in the gas station for 20 minutes and then decided to leave and drive to the Avondale house (when we got the bill they charged us for that 20 minutes of sitting at the gas station and included it in the travel time saying it took them an hour and a half to drive from the first house to the second) Last time we moved from Avondale to maricopa we used Az Discount Movers and it took them in total 3 1/2 hours to move from an apartment far away from the parking lot to the house in maricopa moving the same items and furniture az budget movers moved. Az budget movers did not wrap any of our beds or box frames or any of our furniture. We have used moving companies multiple times for multiple moves and every company we have ever used has wrapped our beds and furniture. While unpacking our things I have discovered multiple items broken from the move as well. We have two bookcases that are broken, a custom big wooden flag that is absolutely broken, multiple picture frames and home decor that was labeled fragile and packaged safely but yet managed to break. We spent almost $800 on this move. (ridiculous considering we paid around $450 for AZ discount movers to do the same move in shorter time down to maricopa. Only reason we didn't go with AZ discount movers again is because they were booked out the day we needed to move.) I regret choosing this company to move our stuff and highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I did not have a lot of time to investigate movers and just went off Yelp and the first couple of reviews were good so I didn't compare with anyone else. When I told my parents how much I paid, they told me I got a very good price on the move! So the other people who did their homework were right, the price is pretty good. I paid $240 (plus tip) for 2 hours. I did not move very far. They were a little slow getting started, but they did everything I needed in exactly 2 hours. They arrived about 15 minutes late, but that was okay with me. They were organized and they did call ahead to let me know they were on their way. The movers were friendly and knew what they were doing. The only thing I didn't like is: (1) my piano got a couple of extra knicks in the wood (I didn't see how they packed it in the truck) (2) they packed my doormat on top of couches, etc. and the debris from the doormat got all over some stuff leaving a mess for me to clean. If it wasn't for that, I would've given them 5 stars easy. read more

Hired for packing and loading. An hour late. Did speedy, but not thoughtful, job. Used T.V. as a tight wedge between heavy furniture and truck wall. Wrapped T.V. only in a thin sheet, even though we provided ample bubble wrap, tape, blankets, and packing paper. Wrapped cabinets in shrink wrap with their contents loose inside, including glass containers and paperwork/books, that got tossed around. Loaded mattresses without wrapping them in blankets that were provided (both moving blankets and sheets/blankets from the house) to protect them. Put things on top of a box I clearly labeled on all sides (and the top) as extremely fragile and forbidden to have anything stacked on top of it. Stuffed linens, draperies and coats clumsily in drawers and boxes, rather than folding or rolling with care. Used some of their own supplies, which we were charged for, even though we provided more than enough of all the packing materials that were needed. Didn't label anything (not even which room the box was from), despite being provided with markers and multi-colored sticker labels. Completed a job that, done properly, should have taken 4-6 hours in only 2.5 hours. We had several friends that helped pack as well, and I could tell which things they packed because they were done with care and were labeled. I'm glad I was able to pack our most valuable and precious things myself in advance, or they would have been damaged. Don't hire for packing. If you hire for loading, supervise carefully so your belongings aren't put at risk for damage. Workers took two 10 minute breaks, reeked of smoke, and seemed like they were hung over. read more

This moving company is excellent! the crew of Don, Miguel and the third one (who I cant remember his name) are phenomenal. They wrapped our belongings with care. They were very friendly and gave advice of how to store our items. When using the dolly, they laided black matting down on the main aisles to create less of a mess. we are so impressed by this team with their efficiency, hard work, and very reasonable pricing. My first time using movers. Moving from a 2 bedroom condo to a 2 bedroom apartment right across the street. everything was packed and ready to go. I was estimated that it would take about 2 hours for $270. When it was all said and done the mover started at 9:30am and finished at 3:30pm, almost 6HRs Costing me $670. This is ridiculous!! It was extremely hot, and they still worked hard to try and get the job as quickly as possible. Everything was handled with care and the appropriate items were wrapped and packed neatly so that nothing was damaged. It took them less time than I anticipated and the fee ended up being very reasonable. I doubt I could have gotten the same work for a similar price from anyone else. Moved a few weeks ago. Customer service oriented business from start to finish. Jim was courteous, answered all of my questions, and was direct, which is great. The movers called beforehand and arrived when they were supposed to arrive. The movers came in and got down to business. They were both professional and hardworking. They moved our furniture out of our rental and into our new house 25 minutes away in a time that was satisfactory to my wife and me. Price was right also. I was impressed by the owner who followed up with time schedules and his movers were very polite. The movers tried very hard to do a good job, but when they decided that my expensive mattress needed to be folded like a "taco" up the stairs that's when the problem started. The coils all burst inside the mattress and they placed it down not saying anything to me. Once I noticed it was about one foot uneven on each side I called Jim. He listened and told me he would call me back. I had to contact him the next day after he spoke to the movers who said that it was not their fault. He came to see the mattress and realized that they did in fact damage the mattress. He told me that he would give me $120 for it since I didn't have insurance! I paid other movers to move it so I could actually replace it with another I had and sleep in my new place. The expensive mattress I had still sits in my garage ruined, I am out money, my favorite bed, and its taking up space. All because they decided to fold up a pillow top California King and haul it up the stairs. I have owned businesses and the customers didn't have to purchase insurance to feel protected. It was up to me to make sure I did the right job so that I could get paid. If I didn't I sure would not charge for my services. In this case I feel that Jim is liable for the current value of the mattress and should at least comp some of the moving charges! Karla read more

Let's face it, there's no nice way to say it, moving sucks. I was very hesitant about using a moving company for the first time, as it's not cheap & the reviews for some of the companies out there are downright scary. I normally rent a truck & gather people to help, which can be difficult, especially for a summer move (this review is long overdue). So after doing a lot of research, I found this company on Yelp & after reading the reviews, decided to call them. Every time I called, I spoke to the owner Jim, who was always helpful. I was reassured after calling the first time. When you're talking with the owner, to me it means they're hopefully going to be more accountable, since you don't have to deal with any middle men. I did a lot of price comparisons & Budget Movers was right in line with other companies & in fact, a bit cheaper for a mid-week move. I set the date & time & the guys showed up right on time. They got to work right away setting up runners to protect my carpet & padding to protect my wall corners. They also wrapped up some items to protect them. The loading & unloading went smoothly. The guys were respectful & only took one ten minute break even though this was in mid-July. The move was done in a reasonable amount of time considering there were lots of stairs involved. So, respectful movers who were comparably priced, on time, fast, didn't damage my items & were honest - oh yeah, I will defnitely use them again. read more
