Oh my goodness, What a find. I would recommend Jim and Budget movers again in a heart beat. Everything was so professional and done at a very reasonable price. But the best was the three young men who did our move, Alberto, Alfredo and Dominic. They did such a great job wrapping the heavy furniture and marble and glass tops and shelves in blankets. There was no damage to anything or any of the walls in either house. And better yet they are the nicest young men and a joy to work with. Budget moving was absolutely perfect. We moved my 88 year old father 200 miles, from his old family home in SE Arizona to a Senior living facility here in Mesa. Naturally Dad was anxious and worried. The movers were SO respectful to Dad, yet had a great sense of humor. They really put us at ease. They were fast, professional and inexpensive. Even though they had a busy schedule on that day, they were able to come out and get everything loaded up for us (while it was raining). Would NEVER use them again. Had to constantly call to find out when they were coming. Was provided an estimate on the initial call. One week before they came to move my furniture was provided an up dated price which was another $2500. On the day of the move, after cutting my load by a third another $2500 was again added to the bill. Now I have been told the delivery will be another $500. Update: Sadly my review has gone from 5 stars to two...and the only reason there's 2 stars at this point is because of how easy it was to schedule this move with Jim over the phone. Beyond that my second experience with this company was ridiculous. We used them back in May 2016 to move from a 3 bedroom house into a 1 bedroom apartment downtown. Our house wasn't even full as we had put a lot of stuff into storage because it wasn't going to all fit into the apartment we were staying in until we found a new house. As the first review says, guys showed up on time (they sent 2 guys based on what they thought we needed), and they worked quickly. We moved into a high rise apartment downtown, and they had to use a freight elevator to get our stuff up to the apartment. Whole process from start to finish took about 4 1/2 hours. We paid an $84 trip charge and then $84 an hour. We were super happy with our service. So, of course when we moved again this month (February 2017) into our new house, we called them again! I was excited to have another seamless move, especially after scheduling it over the phone. They still had all of our old information so it didn't take long at all and we set it up for the day I requested no problem. This time, though, we wanted to have the movers stop and grab our stuff out of storage on the way to our house...so Jim recommended we got a 3rd guy so that changed our rate to a $110 trip charge, $110/hour. Seemed fair since we were adding a stop and obviously more items would need to be moved than our first time. Guys showed up at 12:30pm. Finished at 6:30pm. They took so long that we didn't even have them stop at our storage unit. 6 hours for 3 guys to move the same stuff that 2 guys moved in 4/12 hours less than a year before. We paid extra to have them take longer and not even do the extra task that we specifically hired the 3rd guy for. Incredibly frustrating to begin with, and even more so now that as I'm getting my house together I'm finding things that are damaged. We won't be using them again. Called another company that I had heard about many times while working in property management. Got a quote for almost $1,000 and they were closed on Sundays which is when I needed to move. So I decided to try a few more places - I had no idea what movers cost as we've never used one before. I messaged a bunch of companies here on Yelp, got a few messages back and Budget actually called me almost immediately. Extremely reasonable pricing. I made my deposit right away and set up my move for the upcoming weekend. Guys showed up on time, worked quick, took great care of our stuff. Paid less than half as much as what the other company quoted and still received great service. We were very happy with this company and will definitely use again and refer people. read more

Just had a small job moving some furniture from room too room in the same house. Many companies did not want such a small job. Budget movers had a minimum charge that was very reasonable and was enough time to take care of the job. By the way, they were the lowest cost of the few companies that were willing to take the job. Scheduling was simple. They came on time, were friendly, worked hard and did a great job. They were accommodating and clearly wanted to make sure I was happy with their work. When I called Budget Movers, I spoke to the owner, he quoted me an upfront price, followed up with electronic receipt for my deposit, and called me the day before the move to confirm. They crew called to advise they'd be a little late then arrived as planned. We were so impressed with the crew, the care and their get on it attitudes despite the move in searing hot July! They made the move really effortless for my in-laws and took special care around my father in law with alzheimers. Jim, the owner, promised me a crew of three and that the cost of the move would not exceed $700 no matter how long it took to accomplish. Only two movers showed up on moving day and the lack of a third mover caused the day to stretch to about 10 hours. When it came time to pay the bill, Jim "forgot" that he had told me there would be a $700 cap on the cost. I had procured cash to cover the cost and the tip, but the additional fees caused me to have to use my credit card. Using my credit card incurred another 2% fee bringing my total to almost $900. Followup: I had an admittedly overly large desk that was left in the garage and not put in the house. Jim came out personally and got as much of the beast as he could in the house. We were stymied by part of the desk being 1/2" larger than the doorways. Kudos to Jim for making it as right as he could. He apologized for not contacting me about the third mover the morning of the move and was professional and pleasant throughout. read more

Very slow movers. Took as long as one of my previous 4 bedroom houses to move a 2 bedroom apartment. One mover spent almost 15 minutes in the bathroom. Missing items on the other end with a "sorry but everything was delivered" attitude from the owner. Will definitely NOT ever use this mover again! UPDATE: The owner contacted me after this posting and did apologize for all of my trouble and did make it right by reimbursing me for the items that were missing which I very much appreciated. read more

It is a disappointing experience with Budget Movers. I checked the reviews and there are only 3 reviews and all of them are best. So I gave them a try. They came on time, that is good. But each time they took the boxes to their truck, they took a long time to come back. I went out and saw them just relaxing there. besides, they used the little cart for moving, bouncing down 3 floor and your things cannot be taken care of (luckily I don't have very good furniture). Worse, they destroyed the stairs of our new apartment (luckily the office didn't ask us to compensate. the office sent the maintenance staffs spend more than an hour to fix it, and we felt so sorry about that). 1 bedroom apartment (without dinning and chairs),within 15 miles, they took 4 hour. read more

This is the first time that I have ever used movers -- and I will never move without them again!! We moved approximately 40 miles outside Phoenix, 4br house with stairs on both ends. I hired a crew of 4 with 2 trucks. The guys showed up at exactly 8am as they said they would. Our crew consisted of Oscar, Paul, Frank, and Larry each introduced himself and got straight to work! They were very polite, respectful and courteous the entire time they were in contact with our things. With very little direction they began loading, using padding, wraps, and care with everything they touched. Total it took 5 hours to pack and unpack at the new location. They took 2 short breaks and 1 meal break on the way to the new house. I can't say enough good things about these guys. Not once did they complain, slow down, and every step of the way they were pleasant and just great to deal with. They had all the tools we needed and some we hadn't even considered and were very knowledgeable, resourceful and professional the entire time. Very professional, were able to get it done in a very quickly manner. Hello all, Just want to let you know that if you need a fair, honest and careful moving company, Budget is the company. They moved my house full of furniture from Ahwatukee to Mesa without one scratch on any of it and were $500 below the big boys to boot! Jim, the owner was great as were his people. We did not even have him sign the contract, which could have been a problem. But when we overpaid him, he called the next day and told us we had a $200 refund coming because the move took less time than anticipated. Sure enough, a check arrived in the mail. We used Budget Movers to pick up 2 sets of patio furniture that we purchased at Costco. They then followed us to another Costco 1/2 an hour away to pick up a 3rd set. They then drove to our home to deliver and unload everything. The 2 men did a great job, and were extremely helpful, since Costco does not offer any type of delivery service. Thank you Budget Movers! Hired a 3 man crew for my 1600 sq ft house. Guys came on time and worked tirelessly in 90+ degree weather, only stopping for a quick lunch break. They we're very nice and they carefully got all my furniture in the house and set a lot of it up too. I really appreciated when they brought my fridge and treadmill in my house and had to be very creative yet careful when moving these large objects in tight spots.
