If I can give negative stars I would. Very unreliable and unprofessional. This is my second time at this location that I have reserved a car and I go there and they don't give me the type of car I reserved for. I reserved for a 4-door pick-up truck last week for today, and due to a prior experience that I mention below, I was worried they may leave me hanging and not actually have a pick-up. I called them yesterday 5 times at their local 845 area code number and there were no answers. I got connected to the customer service and I told them if they can check to see if they have pick-up truck available tomorrow and the representative said they do not have access to their inventories of each branch!!! We go to the center today, and they said they do not have a pick-up and wanted to give us a Toyota Prius and then said they can give us a mini-van!!!! They are not accommodating, they are not professional, and they do not know anything about customer service. They told us they may have a truck ready by 1:30 PM.... I had reserved the car for 9 AM. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? A couple of years ago I reserved an SUV car from 2 weeks in advance for 10-1Christmas eve that I needed to take to the airport and catch my flight. I go there and they give me a hatchback small ford focus and tell me this is all they have and either I take it or leave it. I had to catch my flight and had no choice so I got the car. A few miles into my trip to JFK the car's tire pressure lights came on so I had to stop by a gas station and saw all four tires had 10-15 psi less than the recommended pressure. Then it started snowing and the car had no wiper fluid and I could barely make it without any accidents because of not being able to see in front of me-- and I could not stop anywhere because there were no service areas around and I barely made it to my flight. The worst! I booked a rental car and took a $16 Uber ride over to their location. They told me that the reservation was for the rate, NOT a car. WTF! The manager was worthless. She said they wouldn't hv cars til next week. Worthless and clueless. And they cost me $16 plus another $15 back to the hotel. Please, get a job you can do!!! read more

Couldn't chose zero so had to give 1 star.Spoke to rep on p hone to set up rental foe my son to get to his sister's wedding.Explained he has debit/credit card to use and they told us it was good. He went to pick up car and they didn't have the price entered for an under 25 driver, said it was entered incorrectly even though they did it and then would not accept his card as payment! Tried to compromise and give mine, but they would not work with us at all. His sister's wedding is Sat and we are now frantically trying to get him to it from college. It's horrible. read more

This specific one in Poughkeepsie is the absolute pits. We picked up our rental at JFK and drove it upstate to Kingston to visit family. By the second day we had it the check engine light came on and when we tried to accelerate the car it was barely picking up speed and having trouble switching gears. We called the central system and they told us to swap it out. So we drove 40 minutes from Kingston to Poughkeepsie (out of our way) and when we got there the man was so rude. He told us it wasn't his problem and he had only two cars left and 7 reservations and he couldnt swap out the car. I asked him if he was ok with us leaving and driving and getting stuck on the road with an unsafe car. He did not care. He told us to drive another 40 minutes to another location. I told him I wasn't leaving without one of the two working cars on his lot. After much back and forth and attitude from him he begrudgingly gave us the keys to a working car. The lack of care for our safety and dismissive and rude behavior was insane. Would NOT recommend this location at all! Would give it zero stars if I could. read more

The guy who works here is absolutely terrible. I don't know his name, but I think he's the only person who works there. He was dismissive, rude, and should absolutely NOT work in costumer service. He yelled at me many times, even though I never raised my voice at him, he yelled at me so rudely that I started to cry and he literally laughed in my face, and told my to try my "fake tears" on someone else. He threatened to call the police on me, even though I was just trying to talk to him. And then while I was talking he left the room and closed the door on me. They need to do something about this person because he is driving away business. You've lost a loyal costumer! read more

Good price, transparent -- a rarity with all the available add-ons and potential for confusion in the industry -- and our car was clean and in good shape. The biggest downside is the location, not near a bus or train station, but the great staff made up for it by picking us up and dropping us off at the Poughkeepsie train station. We thought we'd miss the Metro North train back but got there just in time; thanks! read more
