This location makes it very easy to do business with them. They have a large parking lot that's private so there's no problem getting into and out of this Hertz location. All the gentleman that I have interacted with here on pick up and return of the car have been friendly, helpful, cheerful and have even help me with directions both coming and going as I am directionally challenged and forever lost!!! I would strongly recommend that you pre-book your rental and if you are solid in your plans paying at the time of rental is definitely less costly. However, I generally pay at pick up because at this time in my life I need to be very flexible. I'm traveling back-and-forth between Michigan and Texas quite a bit! I contacted the Brighton location (as that was where it was due to be returned), who said they were not responsible for helping me. I got through to roadside assistance who jump started the car, but within the hour it had failed again. More time on the phone to get a tow truck out. Belle Tire tested the battery but said it wasn't damaged so they knew Hertz wouldn't let them replace it. Why didn't Hertz offer to swap it for another car at this point? The day I was to return the car, the battery died again. I rang roadside assistance and told them to tow the car to the Brighton location as that was supposed to be the drop off point. Within the hour I received an irate phone call from Hertz at Brighton wanting to know why I had sent them a dead car. 'Yes. Inconvenient isn't it?' I replied. I let the guy know that I was unhappy about the car and wanted a refund. His words were ' yeah, that's not going to happen, why do you think this is our responsibility? And why didn't you contact us in advance about the faulty car?' Listen mate, my call log shows exactly how many times I called your location's number. It just links back to the automated system, and then the AI bot Hayley, and finally to you, who abnegated responsibility time and again. I thought Hertz was a reliable company with reliable vehicles. I was wrong.

The staff taught me the difference between a drum sander & an orbital sander as well as how to use both. Based on my square footage of flooring the sent me home with more than enough sanding material to get the job done but only charged me in the end for what I used. At one point in the process I got nervous that I was doing something wrong so I called them on the phone & they took the time to talk me through the process once more. Now my husband & I are remodeling a commercial retail space & when we found out that we could save a lot of money by doing the floors ourselves we turned back to Chets. We rented a tile stripper to help remove over 800+ sq. ft. of ceramic tile. Unfortunately the machine didn't tackle the job the way we hoped & we had to chisel the tile up by hand. When we returned the machine & shared our story they refunded our rental fee with a sincere apology that the machine hadn't worked out for us. Amazing! Moving forward, any time we need to rent machines we will definitely go to Chets for their selection, the ability to make reservations in advance & customer service.

They told me that they would get me another car. The called me later that day and told me to bring the car back, that they had another car for me. When I arrived back to the rental office the staff laughed and told me the car smelled 10 times worst than that before they cleaned it. I said you knew about the smell and still rented it to me? Something was wrong with the registration on the replacement car so they couldn't rent it to me, so I still didn't have a replacement car. 3 days later they still didn't have another car for me so I returned it 3 days before the contract was up. They didn't take anything off the bill andstill charged me for the entire contract. I will never rent from this place again!!
