Please do your research before going here! They charge $199.00 per mechanic hour, every other local shop charges $130.00-150.00!!! Garrett the front desk helper told me if I didn't like getting priced I could do the repair myself next time! Funny thing is they didn't actually do a REPAIR! Just charged me for 4 hours to tell me I needed to have my system flushed! BEWARE, call BC and Kovacs before agreeing to anything. I asked for an invoice with hours and corresponding charges...Dennis said he was not able to provide which is against the state of MI requirements outlined on https://www.michigan.gov/sos/industry-services/repair-facilities Any good review they have is from the previous ownership. read more

Brighton Auto has been around as long as I'm alive and I'm 48 years old. In a pinch I have tried others in a pinch and they never come close to the great quality service, and honesty of Brighton Auto. I have a 2008 BMW X5 and a 2009 Audi A3 and I would not take these cars anywhere else to be checked or worked on. This is a Brighton original and that's why they are still number one. I like messing with cars, but sometimes you really need the experts. My Jeep had the flashing red lightning bolt of death and was practically undriveable. I had already changed the throttle body and accelerator pedal .. but no joy. The guys have all the diagnostic tools and know how to find the real culprit ... Turns out a critter had been chewing on the main wiring loom. They found it and fixed it. Great job at a reasonable price. I needed a new starter on my truck and I had to get it towed to Brighton Auto Service. They got the truck at about 11am on a Tuesday and by 300 the next day it was ready to be picked up. On further inspection of the truck, they noticed my serpentine belt was worn and my power steering fluid was contaminated. They fixed it all in a day. Other places I called said they would be able to take a look at it in a week. They went above and beyond and will definitely be going back for any more service on my car. One other thing, they send you a link of the repairs that are needed and you can accept or decline them so there is no misunderstanding of extra charges. read more

Not the same business since changing hands just over a year ago. Made an appointment the day before and was told to drop it off that night or first thing in the morning. Heard nothing until I called just before 5:00 the next day and it was just being looked at...the major problem was never addressed, was told I needed new brake parts ( I just paid them $1000.00 for complete new ones less than a year ago )...and ended up leaving paying $150 for an oil change. Fluids not topped off, low tire pressure light on, who knows if there's new oil in there... wow. Will never go back. Jacob at the front desk didn't have a single word to say to me at checkout. I had taken my Jeep to the dealership for a tune-up when they called me back and told me that I needed a repair to my cylinder head at the cost of $1,200 to diagnose it and another $1300 to have it repaired. I immediately wanted a second opinion and called Rick at Brighton Auto Service who asked me what the dealership said their next step in diagnostic testing was. They never actually told me what they planned on doing next, other than it needed to be done, and that they planned on charging me a ton of money for the job. I talked to Rick and scheduled time to bring in my car for that second opinion. He looked it over and diagnosed it as having a bad ignition coil. They also quoted me to repair my small evaporation systems leak that the dealership quoted me $400-500 on. Both repairs at Brighton Auto Service ran me just over $500. The repairs were done quickly and the service was fantastic. Rick is my new mechanic! I felt he was honest and direct and he came recommended by family and my tire guys at Bob's Tire. read more

Our 2016 Ford F150 required oil pan replacement and front and rear brakes. We have previously used the dealership, but chose not to go that route and needed to find someone local. We decided to try Brighton Auto Service and were very pleased. From the first phone call, communication was polite, prompt, and with clear explanation on work and cost. Repairs were completed in a timely manner and include a 3-year/36,000 warranty. A ride home then back when the vehicle was ready was very helpful. As a woman who sat in the office for a couple of hours while the work was being done I cannot recommend this place enough. The waiting room and bathroom are quite nice but more importantly I felt very comfortable because I was always treated with friendliness and respect. The old shop owners were very knowledgeable, used top quality parts, and never advocated any repair that was not necessary. Based on my one visit, I sense that the new owners are opposite. They used cheapest oil filter available, would not disclose the brand of oil they used, and suggested a bunch of additional work that was not needed at this time. read more

You need to disregard any review prior to the spring of 2022. For decades this was place to go to get your car worked on. I've been going there for 40+ years and they were the best. Unfortunately Bob retired and sold the business and the new guys are not up to the task. Same name on the business but that's about it. They are over priced and pretty much just don't care about you or the service they provide. My first clue should have been when I dropped the car off and the lot was totally empty. Fast, friendly, and reasonably priced service. They got me in the same day for wheel balancing, because my steering was vibrating at high speed. It turned out not to be that the balance weights were off. Instead it was mud was caked behind the wheels from the dirt road I drive on. They spent the whole time chiseling mud from the wheels and voila, problem fixed. I would definitely return there for service. read more

STAY AWAY!!! New owners. I took my car there for suspension and brakes repairs. They told me it would cost $3400 to repair and would only start the repair if I would pay half up front. I took my car to a different mechanic and they charged me only $1700 for the same repairs and a few extras. read more

I had been coming here for three cars (meaning many years). Just took my car in with the new owners. I could not have been more disappointed. Took in my car because a dashboard light went off. Charged me $408 just to diagnose the issue. Nothing done, just diagnose. Oh yeah, and clear some codes. Low and behold, last week dashboard light came back on. Horrible! Unbelievable as I had 3200$ dollars in repairs. One being a rear hub assembly (668$) as well as a "Brake Inspection " 48$. After returning home heard a bad sound from the "replaced" rear hub and returned the vehicle back and they informed me of a 448$ repair...Brakes and a new rotor. Drop the vehicle off at 9:00 am was told it was a "priority) and asked how long the repair would take...early afternoon. Never received a call from them that day. Was very curious how they didn't catch this upon inspection as they informed me "ALL" my brakes were within tolerance. Visit Roy's in south Lyon, WAY better Technicians!! read more

I took my car here once, and they fixed the problem. Turns out the trailer wiring plug was causing the brake lights to short out. My regular mechanic suggested them, when they couldn't figure out why it kept shorting out. Now THAT would be a tricky problem to troubleshoot, but they figured it out on the first visit. I went here because of all the good reviews. I was having problems with my car. My car was stalling at red lights. They charge me $80 to look at my car and then they said they couldn't find a problem!! The car ended Stalling again a week after and had to be towed in Novi. The Novi repair place fixed to problem.
