Having a 7-seater wasn't a make or break for the weekend, so I let them know I was flexible. When I arrived for pick up, Charlie informed me that they were able to get a standard crossover, which was great since I was expecting to be downgraded to a five-seater. He was busy helping other customers too, but I was probably in and out within 15-20 minutes. I'm planning on needing another rental in a few weeks and definitely plan on returning since I had a great experience here.

At Enterprise, I was waiting in line along with 4 other customers, while phones were ringing nonstop. THE 2 EMPLOYEES WERE DOING THEIR BEST EXPEDITE EVERYONES SERVICE. What really made me write this review was there were 6 (SIX!), what I assumed are corportate/district employees (wearing enterprise shirts), walked in, watched, chatting with each other, sat down for a while and then walked out. No one helped the 2 employees drowning in customer and phone calls. Do better enterprise!

I also don't like the fact that you cant see the Costco price until you show up at the dealer.Only they have the price so it gives you no advantage. I have used Costco a few times in the past and remember when you could download the Costco price and go in with the price in your hand, all broken down by options prices to start negotiating, now you dont have that option. It stops.you from shopping around and I guess that's the point. You are kind of forced to use their preferred dealerships.

Avis gave me a Dodge Hornet with 0% EV charge and no time before I needed to hit the road -- certainly not 3 hours to achieve an 80% charge at any of the nearby Level 2 charge stations. The lady at the counter explained, "We just treat them like gas vehicles." OK, but THAT'S NOT HOW YOUR WEBSITE RENTS THEM! (Note that I rented directly through Avis.com, not a third-party company.) There were no charging stations I could find where we vacationed, so the entire experience was a waste of $340. I will NEVER rent from Avis again.

It may not be quite run like a professional chain of car rentals, but you will receive personalized care and a much more reasonable price. We rented two 15-passenger vans for Mexico (flew into San Diego airport) for a week and all went well! At first, I was hesitant because the price was almost half of what was quoted by EZ rent-a-van and it was hard to believe. I phoned Ryan and Carlos several times to get confirmation and ask questions. Though they are closed on weekends (family time), they get the vans ready ahead of time for rental and are available by phone. The drive was 10 minutes and the vans were ready to go on a Sunday. I paid Friday by phone/credit card on Friday, signed electronically and received the rental agreement. Ryan made sure that everything was good for us. Even, when last minute someone returned one of the vans we were going to use, damaged -- he got a replacement ready quickly. The vans themselves were fine - actually a relief that they weren't new - so we felt comfortable travelling in them. One did have a light come on that lasted, but it wasn't serious. We fit 15 persons and put luggage in a truck. Otherwise, it's ideal to have 11 passengers and then room for luggage in the last bench. We drove 3 hours from the border into the hills past Ensenada and that was fine with the Company. After our trip, we dropped the vans off on a Sunday and put the keys in the box. That was it! We will definitely be using Sun Diego Car Rental again and are grateful that the two vans fit right into our non-profit budget!
