Great customer service, fair prices. The vans aren't the newest but were perfect for my needs. Not all vans have car seat anchors so check beforehand if that's a must for you. Our van had AC and a newer radio/CD unit that included a remote control. It's also worth noting that they don't always have standard office hours so if you schedule a pickup at 2p, they may have a guy waiting for you at 2p (and that guy wants to leave at 2:15). So as I learned, if you're not going to make your pickup time exactly, give them a ring as a heads up. Also, you wouldn't know ASAP is in the office park as there are no signs street side so remember the actual street number address 8869. We just rented a van from them after seeing the high rating on Yelp but were definitely disappointed by the experience. Hence the 2 stars. The actual experience with the van would be 0.5 star but I'm giving it 2 stars just because the owners were so nice and accommodating. Here are the reasons why: (1) Their vans are old. Very very old. Maybe 15-20 years old. The one we drove had about 150K miles on it. It was never indicated on their website that the vans are that old. We never saw the van until the day of pickup by which time the credit card was already charged. Hence felt cheated. The van drives like an old van, smells like an old van and handles like an old van. (2) the first van we received had a broken seat belt, that was discovered when we started driving it. The owner apologized and taped the 2 pieces of the buckle together to make it work. No idea how effective that seat belt would have been in an accident. The interior lights were dim and finicky and the brakes were awful. They grunted when used. The hand brake didn't even work effectively. The whole van shook when driving 80 mph. (3) the second van we got handled a bit better than the first but the seats had stains on them and even worse, cigarette butt holes. It smelt of cigarettes. (4). The worst experience of both vans was filing gas. It literally took an hour to fill the gas tank that had to be constantly pumped. Since the van is old, the pump nozzle kept shutting off every 30 seconds since it wasn't a perfectly sealed fit over the opening of the tank. We tried filling gas at at least 5 different stations and had the same issues. Tremendously frustrating!!!! Again, the owners are very nice but they should make folks aware that their vans are very old, and very high off the road. Beware if you have old people trying to get in and out. If renters have never driven a Ford van like the one being rented, walk them through the entire van including simple things like controlling the interior lights. Most important- advice renters if there's a trick to filling that dreaded gas tank to avoid frustration. We will most certainly never rent from them again. They may be slightly cheaper but not worth saving a little bit of money. read more

This is a family owned and operated business and you can tell they take pride in their fleet. I worked with Jeff to arrange our rental and he was very easy to work with. Very courteous and professional. They even offered roadside assistance but they keep their rentals very well maintained so there was no need to call for help . The van was clean and ran smoothly. Jeff even dropped off the van and picked it up, which made it really easy to rent from them. We had rented a van from another company earlier in the year and had problems not being able to start the engine and we were about a hundred miles away from home so I know how important it is to rent from a reliable company. I have rented from them about a dozen times over the past few years and during every season of the year. Summers are busy for them, but still accessible. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The owner was rude and very unprofessional. Vans are old and on their last leg. I'm surprised I made it to where I was going. The van I rented smelled like a wet locker room. Do yourself a favor and find another place to rent from. The old saying "You get what you pay for" applies here in every sense of the phrase. I stopped by ASAP only a few days before we needed the van for my sons wedding in Mexico since I had only talked with them over the phone, I met Cherie and another gentleman and they were great in helping me arrange a pickup time and super pricing. This was by far the most relaxed and comfortable experience renting any vehicle and I will definitely rent from them again. They showed me the van that would be available and explained that their service uses older vans ,but fully capable and safe. Super nice people and a very clean Van. We had a party of 14 that needed a van for a quick trip to Los Angeles. The staff was nice and helpful in walking me through the features of the van and the van was in great shape. Saved $100 by going through ASAP and not one of the chain rental places. I found out that the reason it is so affordable, is because they have older vans and they are able to keep their costs down. This is a great small business and you can tell that Jeff and Cherie take pride in what they do. I have rented from ASAP a handful of times now and every time has been great! The vans are reliable and in great condition! I learned to drive in an E-150 Ford van, so driving these are no problem, at all! Just remember that they don't move like little cars and they do have the love of a lot of long road trips. I love the flexibility that Jeff and Cherie have, renting to me last minute and allowing me to pick up late or early at their San Marcos location. It is so convenient and they have great service! While the vans are old and not deluxe, they tell you that ahead of time. The price is affordable and the van was perfectly clean. The staff answered my several emails before we arrived and let us add 4 drivers. Pick up and return was easy. Unlike another similar company, this rental included unlimited miles. No complaints at all and I would definitely rent from them again if I needed a 15 passenger van. (We brought along a small step ladder for the older folks who had a hard time climbing into the van.) read more

I've rented vans from major companies and have been treated like I owed it to them to give them my money and rent their van. Totally cold and the staff of these big companies are just doing a job to earn a wage. Unlike ASAP!!! This is a small business that values your business and appreciates you for being their customer. Jeff is a delight to work with and is very accommodating and knows his business. I find that review from Mila to be so out there. Jeff tells you up front that they are older vans. I liked that they are well maintained and quite clean, compared to the other small companies out there. And this Mila person can not blame this company because they were not intelligent enough to figure out how to put gas in a van. All Mila's complaints are petty. I found this company a delight to work with and rent from. They care about their vans. They are friendly and personable and treat you as a person, not an addition to their bottom line.
