**Extremely disappointing experience, especially for a reservation made months in advance for an important family event.** I booked a full size SUV months ago specifically to move our son to college. We had **8 large suitcases plus several smaller boxes**, so vehicle size was not a preference. It was the entire reason for the reservation. The day before pickup, Josh called and told me there might be a delay because the full size SUV they were expecting was returned to a different location. I made it very clear that a smaller vehicle would not work and that we absolutely needed the full size SUV the next day because of the importance and timing of our son's college move. Despite that conversation, the next day Josh called and told me they still did not have a full size SUV and offered me a crossover instead. We already own a crossover. If a crossover could handle what we needed, I would never have rented a vehicle in the first place. What made the experience much worse was how the situation was handled after that. I was told they had contacted other locations but could not find a vehicle. I personally checked and found a full size SUV available at the Enterprise airport location. I gave them that information and asked them to help secure that vehicle for me. Instead of taking ownership of the situation and finding a solution, I felt like I was left waiting until I had no choice but to solve the problem myself. Eventually, because we were running out of time, I had to take an Uber to the airport Enterprise location and rent the SUV myself. A reservation that was originally around **$500 ended up costing me approximately $1,100**, in addition to Uber expenses and the time and stress of dealing with this on the day we were moving our son to college. I understand that unexpected vehicle availability issues can happen. What I cannot accept is the lack of ownership and urgency in resolving a problem after a customer made a reservation months in advance, clearly communicated how critical the vehicle was, and even identified an available vehicle at another Enterprise location. A company like Enterprise should have processes to handle exactly this kind of situation. I should not have had to locate the vehicle, arrange my own transportation to another Enterprise branch, and pay more than double my original reservation price because this location could not fulfill the reservation. I will be escalating this experience to Enterprise corporate and asking them to address the significant additional cost and inconvenience this caused. read more

I walked from the autoshop where I was told Enterprise would have my rental there and waiting. They never showed up and they didnt answer their phone. At Enterprise, I was waiting in line along with 4 other customers, while phones were ringing nonstop. THE 2 EMPLOYEES WERE DOING THEIR BEST EXPEDITE EVERYONES SERVICE. What really made me write this review was there were 6 (SIX!), what I assumed are corportate/district employees (wearing enterprise shirts), walked in, watched, chatting with each other, sat down for a while and then walked out. I recently rented an SUV from this location for about a month while my car was out of commission. Over the course of the rental Javian was a big, big help. Whether I needed to get the fob's battery replaced right at closing time or I needed to switch cards because there was a problem with my usual, bro was accommodating the whole way through. It's a struggle finding cars that fit these big car seats, all my parents know what's up RYAN helped me out and got me into a Grand Cherokee Jeep and it's Perfect ! This place is a mess and their communication is terrible. I misplaced my drivers license and had a temporary waiting for the new one to be sent from the DMV. When I made my reservation I specifically explained several times that I only had the paper temp license and multiple employees assured me it was ok. Extremely upset at how we were treated at your Miramar, CA location. We spoke to the manager today about returning a van, we asked for a few minutes past 3pm and the manager said she would wait until 3:05pm. We rushed to get there and arrived at 3:09pm, no one answered the door. What made this terrible was we saw the manager leave through the back door. We are regular customers. We are upset since we also made a reservation last week for a mini van and were given an SUV that reeked of vomit and alcohol, we told the employee about it and didnt do anything, but charged us full price. Mixed feelings about this place. I typically use Enterprise for all of my car rental needs and this was my first time using this place. It was coordinated by my insurance after a minor accident requiring a body shop visit. When I took my car in, within minutes the Enterprise driver was there to pick me up and take me to their store. Once at their store, it only took a few minutes to check me in since my insurance had already set this up. After I gave them my license and credit card, they were showing me to my car. Very quick and simple process. When I dropped the rental car off, it was mostly the same. Checking back in was simple as everything was already paid for and the driver was ready immediately to take me back to the body shop. Where I have mixed feelings is after the individual checked the car out for a full tank, he began talking to me about giving them the "best rating" and that I would receive a phone call from Enterprise. I told him I wouldn't answer the call from Enterprise and he got clearly annoyed by this and told me that's how they are rated or something to that effect. I told him I just didn't feel like talking to anyone from Enterprise and he became even more visibly annoyed and said "whatever". First, if the phone call is to get my opinion about the service, why are you telling me what to say?!? I understand you want the best rating possible, but what's the point of the rating if I just say everything was perfect because I was told to say that? You provided me with a rental car... but it wasn't a free rental car! I AM paying for a service. You picked me up and dropped me off. Yes, that's also part of the service. This is one reason I enjoy writing a Yelp review. No one to tell me what I need to write and that I need to write nothing but great things. Here I can write what I actually experienced and how I feel about the service. I don't often use a rental car, but when I do, I use Enterprise and will likely continue in the future. But whether it's a rental car, dinner at a restaurant or some other service, don't tell me how I have to provide you with a flawless rating, particularly when you've done nothing other than your job. read more

This is my second time using this Enterprise location as a result of my vehicle requiring repairs at a shop near serviceby, both times I have experienced pleasant service from the gentlemen who picked me up from the repair shop and customer service desk but when I called to ask if the expected return date for the following date as listed on the emailed receipt was simply a place holder since I mentioned my vehicle would be at the shop for the entire week, the girl on the phone simply said yes and hung up before asking if I had additional questions or simply stating "have a good day"! Basic customer service skills are a must in a customer oriented business and phone etiquette is no different; just because the customer is not physically in your store do you treat them with any less curtesy! Also, on more than one occasion the representative stated that the vehicle was cleaned as she asked a coworker to pick it up and go over the details with me. It appears, we have a different definition of clean. I admit that I do not rent vehicles frequently as I have two vehicles but besides vacuuming the rugs the vehicle had accumulated dust all over for having been recently cleaned, pet hair in the back seats, dust/debris in the A/C vents, steering wheel and center console which is unpleasant under any situation but even more so with a COVID pandemic (sanitizing in between customers) I understand that other customers have clearly rented/driven this vehicle and it is not brand new, but when you provide a service such as vehicle rentals, you should inspect the product before another customer receives it and ensure that it is suitable for anyone! My spouse has allergies, so should it be my responsibility to thoroughly clean a rental simply because your facility failed to provide a basic satisfactory product? I think not... I am new to Yelp and have only posted a few reviews praising great businesses because owners should be privy to the standard set by their employees for their business, whether that's high or low is the responsibility of the owner to uphold. read more

I have an enterprise vehicle while my car gets fixed for and accident. I selected a mid size sedan and I got an SUV . I just took waited to see how long the fix is going to be. When the adjuster said that it will take 8 more days for repair I didn't want to keep driving the suv that waste double the gas of a sedan. I asked if I could do a swap and he said of course. I called enterprises and they said to go ahead to come to this location at 9:30 am . When I arrived they said they didn't know what I was talking about and any how they didint have a vehicle that wasn't a truck or a mini van and I could try kearny Mesa. I drove to this location because they lit representative sent me here. At least they should had bring in another car from another location since it was their mistake. Showed them pictures of my active driver's license and letter from the government that the replacement driver's license was sent and pending deliver. These unprofessionals wouldn't budge. "If the CEO were to request a rental without a license, we wouldn't allow it," they told me. First of all, objection--speculation. Second, if you declined services to the CEO, you'll most likely be fired eventually (since we're speculating). I suggested that they make changes to their illogical rules at the next meeting. The Regional Manager simply kept repeating herself like a clown. Use Turo instead. Makes no sense that law enforcement officials are more understanding than these incompetent, unmotivated fools. Avoid them at all costs. They will waste your time. By the way, prior to this experience, I had used Enterprise for over 15 years. I rented at another location because I was stranded due to personal car issues. Mike was able to sort out the the issues because my insurance wanted to take over the rental.
