I would give zero stars if I could. I reserved a TRUCK and when I came in there was no truck so I had to make multiple trips. They said they wouldnt charge me for the extra mileage but they did.... Of course. Oh and the van they gave me? Yeah every since door was dented in, not little dents, i had to small the doors to get them to close. The steps to get into the can were also dented to the point you couldnt step on them. The back tail light with the rear view camera in it was hanging off by the wire so it was unusable. Super unsafe. I will be going back to uhaul from now on. Completely unacceptable. read more

Never rent from this Budget location. Worse service ever! Jackie and Angel would take candy from a baby. I return my car full of gas. I went inside and talked to Angel. After checking with the guy in back, she did acknowledged my rental was returned with a full tank of gas. She confirmed that no extra charges would be processed. I took the time to go inside and make sure to avoid problems considering all the bad reviews this Budget location has. She charged me $72 for gas anyways. When I came back to complain, Jackie tried to give me a 1-800 number like it's my responsibility to fix it. Jackie begrudgingly agreed to fax in a request for the fuel charge to be reversed. That was over a month ago. I called to check on the refund and Angel put Jackie on the phone, as she said she doesn't handle that. Before I could even tell her who I was, Jackie said she remembered me, and that she faxed in the refund request twice. I started to ask her if she could look into it and she rudely interrupted me. Jackie spoke in a very condescending and demeaning tone of voice, telling me that I have to call the 1-800 number, that it's not her job or problem. I guess that's gonna be really hard for them to fix the problem if they took the gas they charged me for. it really sounds suspicious that they would not want to help me and have completely ignored my situation. read more

I would definitely rent from this location again! We had a rental car from another place down there for about 24 hours. They had promised us a van but when we arrived they only had an SUV with 3rd row seating. After 24 hours of using the SUV we realized it wasn't going to work. I found Budget online and we gave them a call. They had a minivan available for us for the next day and at an even better price then the place we had originally used. We were so pleased! We had 2 kids in car seats and 4 adults so we needed the room because we also had a big double stroller. Pickup of the vehicle was the fastest I have ever experienced. I give this location a 0 rating. 7 passenger SUV was not available on day of reservation even though it was reserved 3 weeks in advance! Was asked if I could wait around for a drop off they were expecting. Had to go back after day after by no choice as all other rentals did not have 7 passenger SUVs available! Then they charged me the original rate for original days and charged me an extra 73.00 for 1 hour on day of returning car. Total rip off. Will never use Budget again! read more

When I decided to go visit my bro in the North Port area, I flew into SRQ and reserved a cheapy compact car over Priceline. The price I won was fabulous, thank you Priceline, and I was pretty much expecting a Hyundai as promised or a tiny foreign subcompact at best. When I arrived at the counter I was greated by a friendly staffer who welcomed me and made casual small talk, WHAT!!!!!!! OMG I'm from Los Angeles, people don't talk to you there, someone who's FRIENDLY....can't be! Anyway she asked me what I drove in LA, told her a Boxter and she looked at me puzzled. I said hey just need a run around car for a few days on the cheap, just give me what I pre-paid for. She said no prob. Turns over the keys to a Mazda 5...WHAT! That's a small SUV and that's quite a bit more daily than what I paid. Turned out to be the closest thing in stock to what I paid for. Holy cow, how cool is this. When I went to retrieve my vehicle I was met by a really, kind Budget employee who carried my suitcase, put it in my vehicle and helped me navigate my way to the highway. Ya know, I'm forced to rent through Hertz at work, but if I had my drothers, I would be a Budget girl. Can't say enough nice stuff about this facility. They just completely get it. read more

My husband made a reservation for 10/1/19. Asked for extra insurance at 10.00 a day. When he checked out it charged him 20. He asked me to call and handle the issue to find out why. I had to talk to a computer for 10 minutes, then when I reached a rep it took 15 minutes him giving me a 3rd price and not answering my questions for me to ask for a supervisor. When I did that " he all but lost it". I ended up hanging up because I was put on a never ending hold. First and last time we use budget.... read more

Always a pleasure dealing with this Budget office. I use them to get back and forth to the Tampa Int'l Airport and they are always on point. Car ready, clean, and always a helpful staff. Location and hours are very convenient. I had one issue with Budget corporate office regarding a claim that they said I was responsible for. I called this office, spoke with Jackie and she advised me of what to do. I recontacted Budget Claims and the claim was dismissed. Do yourself a favor and use this office. read more

Avoid budget rental in Venice at all costs. Awful experience with them....especially Jackie! I reserved a 7 passenger vehicle and called 2 days prior to pick up to make sure I would get what I reserved. Knowing that not all SUVs have a bench in the middle I clearly said the category I rented under was 7 passenger and would like to confirm that the SUV they would have for me had the bench seat. Jackie assured me that it was not a problem. I took an uber to the lot signed the rental agreement and went to get into a GMC Acadia that did not have the center bench and 3rd row seat only had room for 2.......clearly not a 7 passenger vehicle. She had nothing else to offer me and I had to rent a second car at the airport to accommodate my guests. On top of that when I got back to venice and returned both vehicles .....I was severely over charged! Calling their 800 customer service number got me no where and I was charged 345$ for one vehicle and 145$ for the second vehicle! Absolutely absurd! I have 2 open cases with budget and no satisfactory outcome! BEWARE! budget is awful....budget in Venice and Jackie is worse! Avoid at all costs! Mind you I have been a loyal budget customer for close to 20 years.....but never again. When they are good they are good.....but they have no desire to resolve this with me....my only request was to not charge for the second vehicle that I had to rent to get my family from St. Petersburg back to Venice. This would have never happened if they would have provided me with the 7 passenger vehicle I had requested! read more

the worse experience ever have i had with a car rental place.we rented a car from the venice florida location and i tell you what a rip off.we had a flat tire after getting to our destination and they said no problem take it to the nearest budget rental and we will exchange it for you.what they don't tell you is 2 months later you get a bill that you have to pay for the tire,so now another extra 87.17 is on my charge card. noone even mentioned to us nor in the contract that we were responsible for any wear and tear on the car before we even got it.shame on them because i am sure what they did was just plug where the hole was,and had we of known we were going to get an extra charge we would of plugged it ourself. never check the car out when we rented it she was to busy ,so she gave us the keys,and said go have a great time......shame on budget rental car,never again will rent from you and i will pass this on to every site i know.....shame on you again read more
