I gave them a call to see if I could do same day even though it was afternoon already. The person who picked up the phone was very nice and told me the soonest would be the next day morning and I could book through their website. As soon as I hung up I immediately received a text with a quote and link. Booking through their website was fast and easy. Came in today for my 9:30am appointment and Darren helped check me in, drove it into the shop and within a few minutes confirmed the crack is repairable with a cash/card quote and about 2 hour turnaround. They finished at 11:20 just under 2 hours. Cost was $242 OTD with card. Easy, fast, great service, good price

I have sort of special tires so I was pleased when she told me they had them available and for half the price of new. I arrived as soon as they opened and was out and on my way to work 30 minutes later. My tires cost $120 each new, but I paid $60 for a practically brand new Pirelli. My husband was proud of me. Tips: * Just pull around to the back and the office is right there. Don't bother parking in the front unless they're really busy and tell you to. *Bring some cash so you can tip the guys putting the tires on. * If you need a tattoo, ask the cashier. Some understanding during our communication when I pointed out a price discrepancy. The Bad: Nickel and diming. I've been going to Firestones since 1999 and every location I've gone to just applies all the active, applicable coupons. No games. It's why I've kept coming back even though the prices have steadily gone up (it's gone up to $270!). This location did not do that. I bought 4 destination tires, which has a coupon for a $70 discount. Because I spent over $600, another $100 was deducted. Because I bought the wheel alignment, there was a coupon for a $40 discount. Total discount: $210. Josh initially applied only a $40 discount to the tires. When I showed him the $70 coupon, he was about to say something but ended up just applying the the $70 coupon. He then indicated that he applied the extra $30 off. When I picked up the car, I was told I would get an email with the invoice and Josh indicated again that the extra $30 was applied. The following day I called for the invoice and saw the invoice only reflected $180 off. I called Firestone and spoke to someone who put me on hold for about 10 minutes then transferred me to Josh. When I pointed out the discrepancy, he stated that he applied the extra $30 discount by removing a TPMS Valve Kit charge, which was $30. There was no reference to this TPMS Valve Kit Charge on the invoice. I told him that this was not reflected anywhere on the invoice and asked how a customer would know that there was an accurate deduction when there was no reference to this charge that was removed and instead said a $180 discount was applied. When I asked why he applied the $40 coupon instead of the accurate $70 coupon, he did not have an answer and just said he would send a different invoice to show what he did. Josh then emailed a separate invoice that looked like it was made on the spot that applied two "PRT-DISC Customer Expectation Discount (Promise not met)" discounts totaling $140 and the TPMS Valve Kit Charge for $28 ($7 for each tire), which was not discounted and therefore made the invoice $30 higher. I thanked him for the explanation but noted it caused me to waste my time because he never explained what he was doing in the shop or on an invoice and I, instead, had to call because it looked like I had been cheated $30. He replied that he hoped he would get the benefit of the doubt that he was being honest and I responded that this isn't a reflection of my thoughts on his character but no one gets the benefit of the doubt. We're strangers making a transaction, this is why invoices exist. He then said he had to do it this way because could not apply the correct $70 coupon because he had already entered the $40 coupon in the system and that he went above and beyond for me. I explained he didn't do anything more than he was supposed to do: apply the applicable discounts and accurately process the transaction. If we're being 100% accurate, he didn't do these things or even explain what happened until I called, which is why I wasn't happy with the experience.

Buying a vehicle was fine but DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE. I went in for regular maintenance, and after waiting two hours, they called me and told me I had a SEVERE oil leak. I told them, "I don't have an oil leak because I constantly check to see if anything is coming out of my vehicle, and nothing has been coming out. There are no drips in any of my parking spots." They then backtracked and said the oil was "caking," which is not at all the same thing as a severe oil leak. So, I'm not sure why we were calling it a "severe leak" when it was obviously just caking. There's a huge difference between the two, and using dramatic words like severe and major seems like a huge con. Nonetheless, they already had my vehicle, so I let them keep it for a couple more days to handle whatever "leak" they were talking about. They provided me with a rental car, which I appreciated, and I just accepted my poor Tacoma's fate and went on my way. On the day I was supposed to receive my vehicle, I tried desperately to get in contact with Richard, my service advisor, for a status update. Somehow, that was nearly impossible. No one answers the automated system. When you try to connect to your advisor's phone line, they either don't pick up or transfer you to a texting system, which is absolutely pointless because they won't text you back. As someone who works in hospitality, constantly calls clients, and replies to hundreds, if not thousands, of emails a day, I was disgusted by the customer service I received. The texting system simply responds, "Thank you for contacting the Service Department at Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego. Sorry we missed your call. How can I help you?" Then... nothing. Finally, a day after I was supposed to receive my vehicle, Richard called me. He sounded completely embarrassed and told me he "had some bad news." He explained that the technician working on my vehicle had broken the spiral cable. I was stunned. My experience had already been off to such a rocky start, and I couldn't believe they had handled my vehicle with such carelessness. I continued to be polite because there wasn't anything I could do. It's not like I could magically get my vehicle back that day, and I certainly didn't want it returned broken. All I could think was, "My vehicle will never come back to me the same." My truck is only two years old with 50,000 miles. This damage was completely avoidable. Richard apologized and assured me they would fix it, so I trusted him and waited several more days. Now, the second time was apparently not the charm. On the day I was supposed to get my vehicle back again, Richard called and told me that while replacing the spiral cable, they realized the technician had also broken the steering angle sensor, which basically meant my vehicle could no longer determine whether it was driving straight. To be completely transparent, I was livid. I was trusting these people with one of my most prized possessions, and every update I received meant my vehicle had been damaged even more. The team at Norm Reeves is supposed to consist of certified mechanics and technicians. Instead, they damaged my vehicle, then damaged it again, all after exaggerating an oil "leak" that turned out to be nothing more than oil caking. I went in for standard maintenance, and Norm Reeves ended up keeping my vehicle for 16 days. Once I finally got my vehicle back, I made sure to receive written documentation detailing the damage they caused while my vehicle was in their possession. Richard wasn't even at the dealership to apologize to me in person, which I found incredibly disappointing. I will say that, even though he and his team failed me, I could tell he was embarrassed by what happened, and he should have been. As a hospitality professional who strives to provide above and beyond service every day, I know mistakes happen. No technician is perfect. What defines a business is how those mistakes are handled. What I can't overlook is the poor communication, the lack of accountability, and the repeated damage to my vehicle. Those aren't isolated mistakes. They're failures in the level of care and professionalism customers should expect from a certified dealership. Because of this experience, I will never bring my vehicle back to Norm Reeves for service, nor will I recommend them to my friends or family. There was an issue with a less-common extended coverage that didn't go as expected. Jose, my service advisor, did everything he could to get it resolved. When he hit a wall, Laura B. got involved. Laura is what some businesses refer to as "a fixer". She relayed what she was doing and who was involved. The list was not a short one. When things were ironed out, she was able to obtain results that kept the dealership and Toyota in good standing by acting in good faith and resolved the warranted coverage to my satisfaction. I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change, something this dealership has performed many times over the years. After the service, I was informed that the oil drain plug had been stripped and that I now needed to replace the entire oil pan at a cost of approximately $740. Prior to this oil change, there were no leaks, no warning signs, and no issues with the oil pan or drain plug. The damage was discovered only after the dealership performed the service. It is difficult to understand how a routine maintenance item could suddenly become my financial responsibility when the problem arose during the oil change. What is most disappointing is not just the cost, but the lack of accountability. After being a loyal customer for a decade, I expected the dealership to stand behind its work and make a genuine effort to resolve the situation fairly. I received a call from Mr Anderson informing me that he would take care of labor and I would need to pay for parts. I informed Mr Anderson that I did not feel comfortable taking my vehicle back to them since they were not truthful for the beginning. I told him where I would be taking my vehicle and he told me to keep him posted of charges and that he would take care of labor. I gave him the verbal quote and he had no issues other than if the dealership would be charging me a diagnostic test. I told him no and if they did I would give him a call back. Vehicle was repaired and invoice sent to Mr Anderson. Two weeks later and he has not paid for the repair. Customer loyalty should matter. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to lose confidence in a service department I trusted for many years. The check engine light was on so we couldn't smog it. Took it up our mechanic in Santee and they found a problem with the catalytic converter. They said one side was bad and recommended Hanson's to get it fixed. I called Hanson's and was able to get an appointment for the next day. While the car was there they found another problem that was an inexpensive fix. They were able to install the cat and make the other fix the same day. Overall I am very impressed with the work, service, and advice/direction I received from Hanson's.

1 Star - Would Not Recommend…read more I went to Ed Hanson's Muffler for a simple resonator/muffler delete, basic exhaust work. This shop used to have a solid reputation, which is the only reason I chose it. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case. I arrived when they opened and clearly explained that I did not want to be stuck there all day. I don't live close by, and I needed to pick up my daughter from school later. I specifically told them I was completely fine dropping the car off and coming back once it was finished if the job was going to take a while. They laughed and said that wouldn't be necessary, and that they'd be in trouble if a job like this took that long, implying it would be done quickly. Instead, the work dragged on for most of the day. I was repeatedly told it was "almost done," which kept me waiting there instead of leaving. Had they been honest upfront, I would have left and returned later without any issue. During this time, the employee working on the car moved extremely slowly, frequently stopping to socialize, smoke, eat, and take extended breaks. There was no sense of urgency and no respect for my time. Because of this, I nearly ended up late picking up my daughter from school, which was exactly what I was trying to avoid by offering to drop the car off in the first place. To make matters worse, the final result was disappointing. The piping looks sloppy and unprofessional, like basic budget muffler work, yet the price was unreasonably high for the quality delivered. Ed Hanson's may have been a respectable shop at one point, but based on my experience and many others now a days, that standard is no longer there. Don't waste your hard-earned money or your time.
