I absolutely am 100% satisfied with this company. I had a nightmare story of a bad contractor who took on too much trying to "waterproof" my basement and clearly did it all wrong as it was outside of his scope. I was referred to this company through my cousin who was satisfied with their work and decided to stick with a direct referral instead of chancing it on some other company. This is not a cheap job to fix so I've learned that it's best to stick with a company that is solid, been around, and will be around for a while. Most importantly they offered a lifetime guarantee on their work!! That guarantee carries even on to the next homeowner if I sell. When I had another problem area I called and they came right back out to address my new issue and ease any concerns I had. Absolutely great customer service from the admin staff scheduling, dealing directly with the owner Bill himself and with his workers. I don't bother to write reviews but it was important I did for this company to save someone else from any bad stories dealing with other companies . Pricing was fair and reasonable and again they absolutely stand behind their work which is rare these days . I am a home renovation contractor and have been for 20 years. I am a notoriously tough customer because I have very high expectations. I do not give out 5 star ratings frivolously. On 7/28/05 I selected Budget Waterproofing to address the moisture issues in my basement. I had looked at several other contractors/options but Budget offered the best solutions at the best price. I was very satisfied with their work and I remember feeling that it was done promptly and professionally. Several years later I had minor leak. I made a phone call and Budget sent someone out to address it promptly. I was both surprised and impressed. I know this is what they told me they would do during the sales process but how many contractors are still around years later when you need them and how many actually make good on their promises? Fast forward to 8/23/2017. I just called Budget because I have some minor moisture issues in my basement again. Keep in mind it has been raining almost every day for the past month and sometimes the storms have been of biblical proportions. I also had carpet installed in the basement and the installers used nails when they should have used glue. I also have tenants in the basement so it is not owner occupied. Also my house and many others in the neighborhood are built in, on and around clay which is notoriously bad for drainage. In short, they have every reason to tell me no way, sorry, our lifetime warranty doesn't apply to you, your rental unit, houses built on clay, etc... But instead they said, "looks like we will want to go ahead and redo this small portion of the basement at no cost to you, when we say lifetime warranty we mean it. I'll have the office manager call and get you on the schedule ASAP." Here I am again, shocked, surprised, amazed grateful and so glad that i chose Budget Waterproofing to do this job some 12 years ago. Keep up the good work guys. read more

I spent a lot of time evaluating and getting quotes from 4 different basement waterproofers and decided to go with Budget Basement in the end because of their cost. (BTW, don't even bother calling Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing--those guys are such scam artists, giving you ridiculously inflated prices the first time, then a more reasonable but still high price the second time.) The team who came out to my house (Fondel and Lacey) worked for 2.5 days (I was originally quoted 3); they worked hard through the entire day, not really taking breaks, and didn't even take bathroom breaks upstairs to avoid trekking dirt around the house. They were also very polite and called me when they were running late. I'd give Budget Basement 5 stars, except two days after they finished, we had a heavy rain. Turns out, some of the PVC pipes weren't epoxied together, so when the sump pump kicked in, it sprayed water all over the basement. I called Budget Basement right away, but since it was Dec 23, the office was closed. However, I called the cell phone number mentioned in the office away message and got a hold of the (presumably) owner, who sent out his nephew to fix the problem that morning. Since then, the system has been working very well. I'd recommend Budget for their price, their efficiency, and their customer service, but I would also advise you (regardless of which waterproofer you pick) to pour a bucket of water into the sump pump pit before the team leaves to make sure everything is hooked up correctly! read more

In early July 2015 we experienced water in our basement during a torrential downpour of rain. Budget Waterproofing provided services July 17th after Eric Goden gave us an estimate just a week prior. They installed a window well drain, sump pump well, and piping/trench between the two. Dave, Jose, and Minor completed the project in about 3 hours. On July 28th, after the first major rainstorm, we witnessed water pouring into our basement in another area. It originated under a wall adjacent to the sump pump room. Was it coincidence or related? Not knowing where it was coming from and the fact that the new leak occurred immediately after the installation, I suspected the two leaks were related. Robert from Budget came out to investigate on July 30th. He said that we had a coincidental crack or leak in our outside underground rain gutter/sump pump draining system that just happened to occur at the same time. He stated that an older waterproofing system on a different wall was also most likely clogged and he could provide an estimate to get it replaced. He then told me to wait awhile and see if it fixes itself, do additional testing by running water down the downspout area, and that we would need to get someone else to fix or replace the cracked outdoor drainage system. Through my own research and indications from several plumbers I thought for sure that Budget Waterproofing caused the new leak. I called Budget and they sent out Dave and Minor to break up the new concrete in the sump pump area and also provide further investigative work on their own (own budget and time) - only to find evidence that Robert was correct. One last item remained unknown though. There was an existing egress pipe that allowed drainage of the sump pump well naturally, without the pump even needing to operate. I had unplugged the sump pump for about 1.5 years because it wasn't even needed due to the egress pipe. That pipe was not visible after the new well was installed and may have been damaged behind the outside of the new sump pump well. There was also no water draining out of the egress pipe to the street. Again I called out Dave and Minor to break up the concrete and research the issue. Again they came out, still professional and willing to help me get to the bottom of the problem. They spent 2 hours digging and looking for the pipe. For some strange reason none was found, and it is even a wonder of whether one existed (although I have no idea how the well drained without the pump on previously). While the egress pipe and leak origination location is still a mystery, I wanted to take this time to thank Budget Waterproofing for helping me during my time of disbelief. They re-assured me that the job they performed was effective and did not cause the other leak. For that I am very thankful and yet apologetic to them. We recently found some moisture in our basement during a pre sale home inspection. The home inspector said it was due to not having mirror drain along the entire perimeter of the basement. Turns out the installers that waterproofed the basement in 2011 cut a couple corners and didn't remove the surface concrete under the stairs (probably because of it being confined space). I made one call to the company and told them what I had recently found. I referenced the warranty and they put us on the schedule for a week later to have the additional work done. The additional mirror drain was installed in about two hours. I would recommend this company to anyone. They stand by their work and honor their warranty. read more

When I ask for alternate solutions they were happy to offer them. I'm not sure how this company doesn't have any reviews. We had a water issue in one room of our basement. We already have a drain around the entire basement. Unsure of why one room would have an issue and not knowing who put the drain in, we called a few companies. First company wanted to replace the whole thing, by the time they were done with their quote we were spending about $12000. Budget came in the next day and realized the cable for the sump pump wasn't secured well and was laying on top of the float. We were told that that's probably all that happened causing the water to back up into that one room which, after we pulled up the carpet we found holes in the concrete. Made sense and after all the rain we just had, (and I fixed the cables), we didn't have any issue. I just have to say how Much I appreciate the honesty! If I have anymore issues I will call these guys! They were recommended by a co-worker who has used them on two of his houses and had great things to say about them. read more

Very professional and honest--will not try to get you to do more than you really need to do to keep water out of your home. And work is guaranteed for the life of your home--even if you sell it. Worked with Mike to set up the job. He did not pressure me at all. He explained in common terms and with pictures what exactly would be done at my house, and on the day of the job, Jose and his crew did exactly what was discussed. They worked hard and got the job done in one day instead of the estimated two days. I think the price was fair and less than other companies. The only downfall is it is quite messy, especially when working in a finished space, but that is just the nature of the work--no fault to Budget. The crew did try to be careful, putting down tarps and plastic sheets and such. I also did a lot of prep work myself beforehand--covering things, rolling back carpet, etc.--because I wanted minimal mess and cleanup. Also suggest turning off your HVAC and covering your vents. There's a lot of very fine dust in busting up concrete. I would also suggest to remove your baseboard even if you are told you don't need to, as mine got quite messed up and will need to be replaced. But all in all, good, professional work for a good price. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Budget to my family/friends. read more
