My basement has a water issue and i call Worldwide on July 12, 2019 and was given an appointment for July 16th from 10-12noon. No one showed up or call me, so i called Worldwide and was told that an earlier appointment held up Giovanni but he could be at your home between 5:30 and 7pm. I said ok, i understand and will see your then. No one show up at 7pm or call me. I called Worldwide this morning at 8:24 am and was told that someone will call be back today in 10 to 15 minutes and as of this posting (4 pm) no one as called me back. Just heard from Worldwide and we have another appointment date setup. Worldwide had a crew come out on August 13th and crew leader Larry did a good job and within 21/2 hours completed the work needed to my basement. read more

We recently bought our house. We were concerned with cracks on the side of our house and in our basement laundry room. We called JES for an inspection and estimate. They told us that we needed over $40,000 worth of work with 17 piers in our foundation. I was so discouraged and upset. I contacted Worldwide for a second opinion. WWFR repaired clogged drain tiles under the foundation. George came out to diagnose and propose solution to water coming into the basement where floor meets the wall. Late Tuesday afternoon, George was able to arrange for a crew to begin the repair Wednesday morning. He estimated the crew would complete the job in 4 days. The crew was prompt, covered furniture with plastic and sealed doors before beginning the work. The foreman explained and showed me each step of the process! When I didn't understand an issue the crew came upon, the foreman called his boss, who explained it in a way I could understand. The crew completed the job in 2 days and left the area very clean. With new PVC drain tiles instead of the black flex drain tiles that were clogged and crushed, I am hopeful that there will be no more water coming through the wall. Within one hour of job completion, Kim called to confirm the job was completed to my satisfaction and expressed her appreciation for my business. I scheduled an appt with Worldwide Waterproofing a week and one day prior to the appointment date. Casey was very pleasant while taking the information as I explained I am the Realtor representing the buyer, and I have permission from the seller's agent to get the estimate. I received very good customer service especially when I asked to get a 1/2 hour call in advance. The evening prior to the appointment I received a call from Mike. He confirmed the address of the property, asked me if I was representing the seller and then he proceeded to explain his company has a charge of $175 if the seller and or agent is not at the appointment. Of course I was not happy at this point because tomorrow is the day we've set aside to get estimates and if I had known that was their policy I would have continued to call other companies. I explained my discontent and all he said was "good luck". Poor verbal communication and company representatives who don't disclose their policies at the time of appointments equal a poorly run business. read more

One of their senior engineers (Allan) came to my house last week to do an assessment of my basement. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of the questions I had about waterproofing. He also did a thorough inspection of the house, our sump pumps and our drainage system. I feel a bit bad, because it turned out that I didn't need any additional waterproofing done and the inspection ended up being free, but if I have any issues down the line, I will definitely use these guys! read more

We had issues with water in our basement for some time and the Queen of the house and I decided it was time to get the repairs done. Unfortunately I had a business trip so I asked my better half if she would mind doing the research and finding a company to do the repair. So between Google and Mont. Co Best Pick Reports she decided on WW&F Repair Inc. The agreement was signed on May 31, payment was given and work started. After a few weeks in my better half was telling me that she was not happy with the progress, she stated she called the main office and expressed her concerns (her concern was how they cut the ceramic tile in the basement bathroom) and was told that someone would get back to her. This did not happen, I arrived home on I arrived home on July 26 to finally see what was done. Overall the work was not bad but here are my concerns: 1. The discharge pipe was placed thru a hole cut in our wall near the ceiling and the hole was left open. 2. The lid that was placed over the sump-pump does not fit (we were told that was going to be put in weeks ago. As of this posting we still do not have the right lid) which prevents me from putting the carpet back in place. 3. The way the ceramic tile in our bathroom was cut no professionalism or regards. I am not going to mention the amount of time I spent installing that tile and how much I spent but I am very pissed at how it was done. (I have pics but Yelp does not have an option to post pics.) After seeing and accessing the above I called the company's main office and spoke to someone named Tanya. I informed Tanya I would like to have a supervisor or a manager to come to my house so that I can have some of my concerns addressed. I was told someone would contact me. Two days later I received a call from a Ms. Summers who stated that someone would come out to speak with me about my concerns and bring out the replacement lid. At the time of this posting I have not seen or heard from WW&F Repair Inc. At this point as soon as I finish posting this I will be opening a case up with the BBB. I am not mad at my lady I think she did a excellent job on researching and picking a company that she thought was right but unlike me I am very anal about who and how work is done in our house. read more

Our basement flooded after over 20 years of living in our house with no incidents like this- apparently that we noticed! I of course panicked and called every number I could find on google that dealt with flooding and basements. What a nightmare! Every company sounded like sale robots giving me minimums of $700-1200 for just coming out to clean up the mess (wet vac, set up fans). No one gave me a straight answer as to why this could've happened or if they could for sure tell me why and how the basement flooded if they came and inspected. Worldwide happened to be one of last couple of companies I called because they are based out of Baltimore and our home is in Falls Church, Va. The lady who answered the phone was very nice and had lots of patience with me since I didn't know many details I should've known about the house, it's history and etc. Luckily they had one of their estimators close by to the area and we were able to get someone out to see the problem that same afternoon. The estimator looked around the basement, the outside of the house and inspected our floors and walls and determined that it was ground water seeping in and that it had been doing this overtime. It finally flooded noticeably due to the hydrostatic pressure. He proposed that we install drain pipes connected to a sump pump underground in the house-meaning they had to cut up the floorboards along the wall and some drywall. This would allow the pipes to collect ground water coming into the house and then pumping it back out to prevent any future flooding for a dry basement. Obviously none of this is good news and nothing a homeowner wants to hear or pay for but I guess it has to be done! The estimator quoted us what seems like a fair price since other companies were charging 1/3 of it just to clean the mess and not offer solutions or repair but we ultimately went with them because they weren't pushy to begin with and they seemed to know their shit when we asked questions. The guy even had a binder with pictures to show and explain why and how water gets into older homes and how their draining system would prevent it. We signed a work order contract that same day and they scheduled the work to be done the following week. Today was the day and although no one in the office called to confirm a time workers would arrive and start, I was able to call them morning of the scheduled date and get an answer. The crew called around 8:30am and told me they were on their way and was to arrive at 10 according to GPS from Baltimore. They arrived right on time at 10am and immediately got to work. It was a crew of 4 people and they were all professional, respectful of our home inside and out and efficient at their jobs. They were done by or before 3pm and cleaned up their work areas taking any trash with them. They answered every question my husband had and explained everything along the way of what they were going to do. The work looks good and hopefully works even better! They even replaced part of a rusty busted pipe we had connected to our washer which was so nice of them. Part of our drywall had mold and they sprayed a little bit of something on it for us too which was nice. Our basement looks real sad with torn up floorboards but it had been so damaged and warped from the water that we need to replace them anyways. **Note** they do not however, replace the drywall they cut up into so now we need to contract someone to patch it all up! read more

My basement flooded twice in 2020. While trying to find solutions, I spoke with a variety of companies. Allen had the best demeanor and was able to explain the process to me without being demeaning or giving me a lecture on science. He worked with me on the proposal and I was happy to select them from the five bids I received. The date of the work arrived to find Larry and his crew on time, polite, courteous, and respectful of Covid-19 safe work practices. Larry explained what they would do that day, showed me various stages of the project and answered all questions. The second day, they were again on time and performed their tasks thoroughly and efficiently. What was proposed to be a 3-4 day project took the guys 2 days. They cleaned up after themselves, even cleaned up the carport. As someone who knows a fair amount about construction, but nothing about home waterproofing, the entire company helped put me at ease and solved the problems. I highly recommend. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Worldwide Waterproofing of Pasadena, MD. We bought a new house built in the 1960s and realized when we moved in that the basement was quite damp and smelled dreadful. The smell actually permeated to the floor above it. Since this was to become a children's playroom we needed to get rid of the mold and waterproof it completely. WWW's estimator came out and did a very thorough assessment of the area. In September 2018 Brian's team came and spent a little over two days jackhammering the concrete and installing drains around the perimeter plus two sump pumps. When we had some leakage along an exterior wall after a particularly heavy rain in October they came back and installed a protective shield on that wall at no additional charge. After the flooring was installed I became concerned that the drainage system might have been damaged in the process. Brian came out again at no charge, met with the flooring installer, and resolved my concern. Brian and his crew were a delight to work with and left everything clean and tidy. Summer, the owner, and Kim, her assistant were extremely accommodating and made every effort to schedule these service calls at a convenient time. They really went above and beyond. We haven't had a drop of water in the basement since the installation of the protective sheet and the dampness and nasty smell have disappeared completely. They were quick to take my deposit money but failed to to keep me updated on the process. I had to call each time to get an update on my schedule project and their response 90% of the time was "we will give you a call back" highly unprofessional and disorganized. NEVER GOT THE FEELING THAT THEY CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. At the end I canceled my scheduled service. read more

This the very first review I have ever written on a company, usually I just go with the flow and suck up my losses. I gave the company 2 stars because they were great and responsive in 2015 (maybe because I was a paying customer then) when I hired them to install a drainage system. The drainage system that has a guarantee and warranty has failed 3 years later and I cannot get anyone to fix the issue. I have called multiple times and left just as many messages. My POC is now texting me instead of calling which to me is very unprofessional and impersonal especially since getting a response is sporadic. Tomorrow I will be contacting my lawyer and making a complaint with the BBB. I will also inform the multiple people I referred to them not to use them, and it has been a quite a few because of all the rain we have been receiving. read more

I fell victim to what I feel may have been a sales tactic by Worldwide Waterproofing, as a result, we ended up spending over $1,200 more for what I feel is shoddy and incomplete workmanship which if left unaddressed could someday compromised the structure of a support beam in our home. Now 5 months later, we are still living in this shambles trying to remedy the problems left behind after Worldwide Waterproofing completed their work. After finding and remediating mold along an exterior wall we arranged for a few estimates preventing it from returning. We secured four estimates with one of them explaining options for working around our pressure treated support beam which is now wicking up water following Worldwide Waterproof's remedy. While the other inspectors from all of the companies were fine, some stood out more as salesman. We had planned to go with Armored but the folks at Worldwide called us up one day and said they were in the neighborhood doing work and could offer us a discount, so we went with them. I now wonder if this really was the case or just a way they attempt secure clients. Either way, we decided to go with Worldwide because with the discount that initially saved us $500. Little did we know it would cost more than $1,200 and double the work time with more problems. The initial scope of work included a one day job that would require a French drain and sump pump be installed at $3000. In the end, we paid $1200 more for two days of work and got a battery back-up that is compromised -not functional and a support beam that wicks water over 6 inches high when it rains. Worldwide sent laborers who worked diligently. While they were jack hammering my husband heard one of them say "hold up, that's the footer -stop jack hammering" or something to that effect. They did. Called the inspector who suggested some workarounds. With my husband's naïve approval, they commenced to putting in a second sump pump and battery back up costing us over twelve hundred dollars more. Once again, I am not an expert, but given that the two sump pumps are about 12 feet apart, there might have been a way to tie them together. Now we have this terrible looking pvc pipe that angles back towards the house instead of just the one that ties into out underground downspout. But is not about the aesthetics or the landscaping. I am concerned with how the pvc angles back towards the house and the impact of that come winter. Also, the cement job securing this pvc has cracked away from the rest of the wall already and on cool days we can feel a draft there. Additionally, we went with the battery back-up a splurge for piece of mind. It's one thing to pay for one, but because the team couldn't find a way to work around to something I mentioned in the intake, we paid for two. Hindsight is 20-20. one of the initial estimates already planned a way to complete the work without compromising this beam. My husband approved WWWP work to have two sump pumps and battery back-ups installed. After the work was completed, he should not have signed off on the job. One gentleman was thorough and careful, while the other presented as possibly being impaired in some capacity. The work was messy, careless, and one fellow left behind tools and his cell phone after the work was completed. Also, there appears to be a problem with the way the float on the back-up battery is installed see the curved angle and the obstructions that prevent it from freely moving up and down. I'm no expert but this float appears to operate much like a float in a toilet tank, which requires it to float up and down. Ours is installed with a bend, not straight. Also, there are obstructions preventing it from sliding it back down. When our float is engaged, there is no way for it to come down without pulling up the carpet, opening up the sump, and using a tool to pry it down. This renders the battery back-up completely useless. As a result of the poor workmanship and the bend they put in the path for the float, that is about $500 in the trash. They sold us a product, harmed it in the installation, and now I have reasonable suspicion to believe it might fail or cause damage to the pump when it is needed. I wish they would return my $500+ and take their flawed product and remedy the water wicking support beam that is wet and spongy where it makes contact with the ground. We reached out to Worldwide Waterproofing several times and they sent a laborer out twice who suggested moisture will be normal and the other said we have steel beams put in which could have been avoided in my opinion if they completed the job properly. It was dry before they did their work. We hired, paid for faithfully, and expected them to fulfill their end. We have attempted to resolve this issue with them.It feels like either incompetence or bait & switch. read more
