We walked through the petting zoo, there was horses, sheep, goats, roosters, turkeys, pigs, cows, the kids got a kick out of it. We each got a small pumpkin to paint or take home which the kids really enjoyed. They offered horse drawn rides, tractor rides, face painting, story time with mother goose & a corn maze (which was not much of a maze). It is really perfect for kids 2-10. The store offers a selection of breads, pies, jams and produce. They sell ice cream, and had cider donuts available and outside they have a small shack that sells hot dogs, chips, etc. Overall we spent about 2 hours here and really enjoyed it!

Kids love a good visit here. Probably only a 20 minute or half hour walk through at most, unless you are lucky enough to meet a student working the farm. Very friendly and happy to talk about the animals and the work they do there. Very good with kids, as well. Overall, if you are in the area, worth the quick visit. It's such a refresher for yourself, kids, whoever to pause life once in a while and enjoy little treasures like this one. Peckham Farm allows the space to freely roam around the grounds, observing the beautiful animals, watching their equal curiosity, and take in the beautiful surrounding scenery.

This is a review for their CSA only. This was by far the worst CSA I have ever participated in. For…read morebackground I have a degree in sustainable agriculture and worked on farms including ones that offer CSAs for many years. If I had known that approximately a 3rd of the each weeks offerings were pick your own I would not have signed up. Nothing against this model but each week I had to rush over from work without a lot of extra time. I often had to forgo the pick your own which made the overall value of the CSA quite low for those weeks. This is my issue not Casey Farm's but I want other folks to be aware that PYO is a major part of their CSA. That aside the assortment was fairly subpar (yes I am aware they had a lot issues with pests so I'm being lenient on this point) and pick up in the barn was often unorganized with not enough scales or bag points to move through quickly. The prepicked veggies were consistently filthy, like fully covered in dirt. None of the CSAs I worked for would have allowed this. A lot of "seconds" quality veggies in the main pick up area as well. I have no problem with veggies that need to be used quickly or have cosmetic blemishes but for example I saw zucchini that was as hard and woody as a winter squash. Wildly unacceptable as it was inedible. Until the end of the season there was very little information about the pick your own fields. There was often little to no wayfinding information both in the barn or in the fields. Also very little educational information on how to pick these items. For things like ground cherry or tomatillos this is important as many folks might not be aware of what these items look like when ripe. Most folks in the field had to help each other find the right rows and provide picking advice. For example a poor fellow customer was picking very tough old snap peas because the green bean fields weren't marked and she was in the wrong place. The folks in the barn provided very little help in this regard. I have a feeling I wasn't the only person to experience frustration with this as around august they finally starting adding some (although still minimal) instructions in the barn. I fully understand a CSA is meant to support a farm in boom and bust but knowing that Casey Farm is bolstered by Historic New England and their popular children's camp programs I think there are a lot of local farms who deserve financial support over Casey. Overall the CSA felt lazy, disorganized and frankly a rip off. I continually felt like there was very little love for the produce they grew and provided. 0/5 stars would not recommend.

Trip 2: Apple picking season. We took the tractor out to…read morethe orchard which is an easy walk. Unfortunately the terrain was very muddy and a lot of rotten apples. There are plenty of trees to choose from but it looks like again things were picked over. I did grab those cider donuts I like a lot. Also, the kids had kona ice and my mother in law bought a caramel apple from the food trucks. Again, LOTS of flies in the food area and they do not offer enough seating from the crowds they pull in.

They feature bands on the weekends that play into the evening and there are picnic tables and fires to keep you warm. The food truck there also serves pretty solid burgers, hot dogs, and fries. A bit on the pricey side but you do get a ton of crispy fries and even the black bean veggie burger was solid. Not to mention there is a full bar there. I mean there is literally something for the entire family. Can't recommend it enough for a nice evening.

We pulled in gravel parking lot so not always ideal for strollers but what is now a days haha! We walked in saw ducks, goats, peacocks, rabbit, horses, donkey, alpca, sheep! We stopped in just before Christmas to see what was happening here. The last time I was here was in…read morethe early 1990's (wow) when the Werme family owned the apple orchard and buying apples was on the 'honor system'. They had a stand with a money box and you took your apples and put your money in the box. Unfortunately, I only stopped once because the apples were very soft and we ended up throwing them away. The new owners have done a lovely job with the orchard and have classes there as well as summer concerts. They have a cute gift shop with seasonal fruit, meat and handmade gifts from local artisans. Stop by, they have something for everyone!
