Natalie's Tamales (Instagram natalies_tamles). Met her at an Yelp event and fell in love with the tamales and sauces. Having southern roots been hard to find a good tamale, but Natalie has nailed it. The pork and chicken tamales are delicious! Like I said the weather was not the best, but I was still surprised at how many vendors were there. Ranging from fresh sausage, fruits, vegetables, sweets, cheeses and wine and alcohol. I met a chef, Chef Scott Bernard. (Instagram goodneighborflavor) He has a stand with balavka, original and brown sugar cinnamon. They both were tasty, the brown sugar cinnamon was my favorite. He was very friendly. He told me he does catering, and four course private dinners, as well as opening a Bistro in Cheektowaga coming soon. I love going and meeting new vendors. I will definitely have to try this market in the summer, where I am sure will have way more vendors. Shop local!

Some vendors have "homegrown" signs, but many don't. What's the point of going to a farmers market and buying out-of-state produce? Some vendors have clear signage with prices, but not everyone - which makes it very time-consuming to ask lots of pricing questions if you shop on a limited budget and stressful if you don't like holding up the line. Many farmers also seem to grow very similar items. I rarely or never see things like okra, peppers other than bells, radicchio, tomatillos, purple carrots, etc. I'd love to see more variety! What do I need to do to get a decent head of radicchio around here? Most vendors only accept cash; some are starting to take Venmo now but only a few seem to accept credit cards. I wouldn't mind this except there is no signage so you have to wait in line and get someone's attention to ask at EVERY stand even before picking out veggies if you don't carry cash. There is an ATM on-site but of course it charges fees. There is very little shade and no areas to sit and rest. The one covered area is always very tightly packed with people and it is hard to walk through; I don't understand how anybody shops at the vendor tables in there. The parking lot is small, very tight, and a challenge to get into and out of - and people frequently just stop vehicles in the middle of the road and block you in. It's easiest to park along the side streets in the neighborhood - but plan ahead and bring a rolling cart to carry stuff back to the car. Finally, the market is technically year-round and happens on multiple days, but be aware that if you go during the off-season or on a Thursday that there are significantly fewer vendors and your selection will be very small. Maybe not even worth the drive depending on where you're coming from. I get it, being a vendor is hard work - I have worked at farmers markets myself - but it's something to be aware of ahead of time to set expectations so you aren't disappointed. Summary: This is one of the most stressful and least rewarding markets I've been to. I go when I want to get a huge quantity of tomatoes or apples, and otherwise avoid this one in favor of the smaller markets that require their farmers to actually grow what they sell.

Huge variety of vendors and local farms during the summer months. Winter months it tends to be a bit thin but there will still be quality vendors like Cornerstone Coffee, Senek Farms and Dan's Produce. And apparently it's the only place to get Duke's Frycakes. You have to stop and give those a try!

I know we all joke about how eating unhealthy stuff is cheaper and makes us happy. But hands up if your body feels worse after the fact. Now take those hands and use one of them to tug open the door to Boulevard Produce. Post washing, of course. Keeping it sanitary. They're also keeping six feet apart and requiring all visitors to wear a mask. Now, don't fret if you forgot yours. Just pull your shirt over your face and quickly buy one of their fabric masks for sale at the entrance. Sometimes there will be disposable gloves at the entrance as well, but I didn't notice any today. Be sure to wash what you buy, as not everything comes in plastic and people don't always buy what their germs touch. Pro-tip, bring something, or someone, to carry all your goodies with you as you shop. Much like the farmers market there aren't baskets or buggies to tote your things around. I've been offered a box before by a nice chap that works there, but on the chance it's his day off, best not to risk dropping your mound of goods. I'll be honest. I tend to breeze past a good bit of the first wall when I enter the cooler, as I am a wuss when I comes to trying new veggies like swiss chard and parsnips. But then you turn around and there is what I think of as Hector's Heaven, with cheap varieties of lettuce and carrots that'll please my bunny until he's fat. It's over half off the price that's across the street at Tops. They've got fruits for me, as I am a fruit fanatic, and carts of dairy too. This week there were massive bins of 50 cent per pound apples that I dug into. In the other room there was also a sale on taters where there had previously been bell peppers. They'd been 3 for a dollar before, and fueled my bunny's addiction. Thankfully they're still priced pretty low, as my spoiled boy and I want to eat like royalty. Really healthy royalty. They've got other goodies too, like honey and maple syrup. There is only so much room in my backpack and I have to practice self restraint as I lay my findings on the counter. I'm left with change to spare and skedaddle before I can convince myself to just carry more in my hands. Because when it comes down to it, produce does rot. Besides, they're open six days a week, so I can stop back for more. Hector gives this place 5 paws up. (Well, four paws and one of my hands, but he tried.)

I bought $160.00 dollars worth of plants on 5/31, 1 out of the 6 Zinnia's I purchased immediately died within 2 days due to a broken stem that wasn't noticeable at purchase. Called them on 6/2, dealt with Amanda who was honestly the sweetest, kindest person I've ever dealt with besides the gentleman that owns the place and she saw the plant and even agreed with me that it was dead and let me exchange it. I planted the second one the same way as the 5 that are thriving and here we are 10 days later and my plant id app is saying it's sick meaning diseased. So thinking I would just exchange it again so they could see it.... Well this time when I called I got an older lady who literally refused to give me her name and stated "I do not need to give you my name" after I asked for her name at the end of the call because one she never introduced herself like I did and the tone of her voice and the way she talked to me was completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. This older woman told me "we don't do refunds so we're not going to give you another free plant, you are lucky you even got one free plant, for all we know it could have snapped at the base from the wind or you planted it wrong and all of our Zinnias are all healthy and doing great so obviously you did something wrong and killed the plant..." but even though there planted in window boxes and the rest are all thriving. I have spent thousands of dollars at this place and unfortunately with them I will never step foot again in that place. If the older gentleman saw me in person along with my significant other, he'd know exactly who we were. Also, if there are supposed signs in your place of business saying no refunds even though I'm not asking for a refund then maybe you should inform your employees regarding it. We discovered Dan's when COVID social distancing began and I came across a share for their Facebook…read morepage in a local facebook group. Dan's does a weekly $20 produce box with set items, both veg and fruits that you will receive. We've been very pleased with the contents each week and have had fun trying to use the things that we may not have normally bought. It's a really great value and Dan's donates no-show pickup boxes to charity. They have an online order form that they post on facebook every Monday listing the expected produce box items and you pick up that Saturday (https://squareup.com/store/dans-produce). During these plague-times they have pickups ordered by last name so you have a set time to come pickup to reduce congestion. They do great social distancing practices; you show ID, they put the box right in your trunk with no contact. The longest we've waited in line is 3 minutes. We really appreciate Dan's as our safe way to stock up on weekly fruits and veggies during these strange times. Note: I'm assuming that in normal times Dan's Produce is operating out of the North Tonawanda Farmers Market, but we only discovered them recently in our search for safe produce pick up.

They have been in business along time and I can't believe Im the only one who ever complained of no fruit in this so called cherry crumb cake. Not happy with the way the owner handled the situation either. Very cocky because he just couldnt not believe my complaint.
