The service was unreasonably slow. Only a handful of tables were in use when we arrived. They were not busy, yet it took 35 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The restaurant appeared very clean although very stark and uninviting totally void of any artwork or wall decorations. The waitress was not very friendly and quite forgetful! I ordered the chipped beef over toast with soft poached eggs which tasted of raw flour and the toast was burnt! The eggs came out hard as a rock and I sent them back! We used to love going to Buehlers for breakfast but now you can only get the buffet where you have to take the lids off to get your food and the biscuits are always hard on the bottom. I don't care for the hours anymore either. That doesn't work for people who have to go to work every day. They also have seemed to lose some really good waitresses with the changes. read more

I didn't care too much for The Mill when Buehler's first came to town. Its service quality, food quality and selection has really bounced around. Years later, I think it has settled into a restaurant I see as a decent option in Ashland. While the food is pricier than it should be ($10+ per person for diner food), they have solid burgers, pretty good breakfast and definitely the best salad bar around. Their servers are all pleasant and typically remember you from visit to visit. Unfortunately, everything takes quite a while. They simply can't handle larger orders. When my family goes there (about 10-14 people), our food takes about an hour to come out of the kitchen. It's also not uncommon to stand at the podium for 5 minutes before you're even addressed. read more

Great salad bar. Honestly that is all I've ever eaten. I work close by here so we will pop over for lunch occasionally. You can get soup and salad or just the salad bar. The soups are also really yummy - I've not had a bad soup yet. The salad bar is restocked frequently and the temperatures of everything is always appropriate. The service is always great as well. I highly recommend if you are looking for a lighter option. read more

First time there and we were a group of 12. We arrived at 1:15 and you could tell they were unhappy to see us as they close at 2 pm. Then we had to ask if we could sit down. Alexa took us to our seats and proceeded to tell us that it was the owners fault our table had a little dirt on it because they had a meeting and didn't clean it. She never got a wash rag or attempt to clean it. She placed our table settings down on the dirty table. Also since our group was there so close to closing, we were only limited to 2 options on the menu- a grilled cheese sandwich or a chicken salad croissant plus a side. The salad bar was also available. Not a great impression for our group considering this is the first time for most of us. The food was okay for the selection. The Mac and Cheese was the best thing according to everyone after we ate. If back in the area would I go back, probably not and this is based primarily on their customer service. By not welcoming us, not cleaning off the table, and by limiting your menu when we were there 45 minutes before closing at 2pm- didn't sit well with me. Average at best. I was beginning to wonder why my order was taking so long to come out. Once I had taken my first bite into my pork chop I realized the wait was because they apparently cook the meat twice as long as it should be. It was so dry and hard and although dressed in barbecue, it was bland. I didn't eat more than two bites. The mashed potatos were real, but had no flavor as well. The highlight of the meal was the salad bar. It was well stocked, varried and fresh. The tea was also fresh and tasty. Decor was fine but could use a little help as the wide open space had nothing to draw your eye to. It was hard to get the attention of the server but once I did, she was attentive. Nothing was bad enough that I wouldn't give the restaurant a second chance. Perhaps the cook was just off his or her game that day. read more

Waited over a half hour for food we didn't get, people were leaving because of the wait time. Had we been informed of the long wait times we could have eaten elsewhere. We asked hostess what special was and her response was "I don't know". If their staff was short a manager should have been slinging food with the cook instead of having a bunch of minors running around not knowing what to say to the many upset diners. Really like the salad bar. There are many choices and most of it is fresh. I really wanted to write this review because of the server, Nicole. This girl is so pleasant, she's quick and the consummate professional. A serving staff like Nicole can make a restaurant with okay food into a 5 rating, in my book. read more

Horrible experience waited 40 min after ordering breakfast before we asked the waitress how much longer she said your food will be right up there were a couple of big tables ahead of you but in all that time she never offered on her own to explain this or ask if our drinks needed refreshed. When our food came most of it was cold. She brought the bill but never returned for the money so after waiting several minutes I took it up to the cash register where no one was at and no one offered to walk over to and take my money until I told my mom rather loudly im about to walk out of here with my money then someone came to take it. Needless to say I left no tip I know the waitress is not responsible for how slow the kitchen is but she is responsible for keeping customers informed as to why there is a delay. And no the place was not busy at all. I will never go back read more

My husband and went there for lunch on Thursday.. food was delicious and the portions were huge! I had the Salmon patties with macaroni and cheese and my husband had breakfast.. I would give this place 0 stars if it would let me. Slow service, breakfast was terrible. Waited forever for our food. The stuffed omelet was awful. Will not be coming back here! Our waitress offered boxes for our food that was too awful to eat and whenever we declined she didn't even care to ask if there was something wrong with our food or anything. Buehler's food is just OK. I'd rather not eat there but my husband likes to go there for lunch about once a week. Our waitress is usually very good and quick to get us our ticket so I can go back to work. Today, she was doing double duty - waiting tables and working the cash register and a LARGE group of people decided not to pay at the table but to form a long line at the cash register. So, she never had time to come back and check on us and we sat and waited about 25 minutes for the check. Finally, I got up and got in the line to pay the check. I was 30 minutes late getting back to work. The manager (if there is one) should have jumped in and taken over the cash register so the server could do what she was supposed to be doing. The restaurant was not at all busy, but I waited at least 15 minutes for my waitress to come to the table (had to ask another nearby waitress to get her). The food was fine and I like the selection of the salad bar. But then I had to wait another 10 minutes or more after finishing to get the check. The waitress did not seem openly rude, but she also did not seem particularly concerned about either of the waits. I've enjoyed eating here over past years, the relaxed atmosphere is nice---but I would hesitate before going back, at least for the time being. read more

The Mill Has quite possibly the best food in Ashland. I wouldn't know that because after an hour and 20 minutes waiting for my food to arrive, I had to leave. It was a Saturday at 9:15 when we arrived, a party of 3 . My son who had just returned from the Middle East, my 3 year old foster son and myself. We were seated right away , after 15 minutes of waiting the hostess took our drink order coffee for my son iced tea for me , an apple juice in a sip cup for my foster son.the coffee and tea came right away the apple juice didn't . 5 minutes later the waitress showed up and took our orders,after ordering i asked again for an apple juice which she brought right over. 3 minutes later the hostess shows up with an apple juice, seriously 10 minutes for a 3 year old is a life time. After waiting another 50 minutes we decide to leave.the family next to us asked how long we waited they had only been there an hour , but decided to leave also. I would recommend "The Mill" if you have nothing to do for about 2 hours, you may even get served then , but who knows it may take 3 hours. How does this place stay in business? When we told the waitress we couldn't wait any longer she said she understood don't worry about the drinks, it's happened all the time. Seriously??? read more
