My last prescription was filled at Costco and that's where my next one will be. Two pair of progressive glasses (one was sunglasses) with total out of pocket less than $200. Vista wanted $489 out of pocket for one pair. WTH? Plus my Costco frames were Jill Stewart and are still as good as new so I only bought replacement lenses for my main pair.

What makes this experience even more frustrating is the lack of communication. No one called us with an update or explained that there was a delay. We had to call them ourselves after waiting a month, only to find out the glasses still weren't ready. These aren't just ordinary glasses for my wife. She needs the prism lenses, and while we've been waiting she has been dealing with severe headaches. That's why getting these glasses was important to us in the first place. Delays can happen--I understand that. What I don't understand is promising roughly two weeks, letting more than a month pass, and not contacting the customer with an update. When someone's health and quality of life depend on getting the correct prescription glasses, communication and follow-through matter. Based on our experience, I am extremely disappointed with the service and would not recommend this place! Horrible!

I ended up skipping the glasses for now and just getting the contacts, but the whole process was really easy. I had previously gone to another office where the optometrist just wasn't my vibe, so I kept looking and found Tucson Optometry. I'm glad I did. On my first visit I met with Dr. Jamie Hiscox and immediately felt at ease. She is so personable. I've now seen both optometrists there and really like them both. They're knowledgeable, patient, and have a calm, straightforward approach that makes the appointment feel comfortable. The pricing is affordable, the service feels honest, and the whole office has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend going here if you need an eye exam, contacts, or glasses. It's been a really positive experience each time

I was yelled at in front of a full house of customers because they THOUGHT I wanted free contacts which I did not because I just spent $200 ordering them. The office manager was extremely rude, interrupting me and told me I didn't need to come there and refunded my entire order for contacts and my exam. Doctor Jake was rude as well. I don't know what happened to these people but we will never be going back. I do not recommend them in any way. They literally treat people like cattle!

Turns out his office manager optician got the wrong pupillary distance and that threw everything off. I had to bring them an accurate PD from another eye doctor before they would remake them. Before that he made me come in for another eye exam and when it was slightly different he berated me for wasting his time. They wasted my time and I found out later that it's normal to have slight variations in vision exams based on the time of day, fatigue etc. The issue was not my eye exam; the issue was the pupillary distance. I think he didn't want to lose any money remaking the glasses so instead of just doing that he thought he would attack me until I gave up and stop telling them I couldn't see out of the glasses. This is the dark side of this office that you won't see until someone screws something up. I didn't know anything about pupillary distance or eye exam variation or anything because I never been to a place where I experienced something like this. If his office manager, who I see from some other reviews has been rude to other people as well, had not measured my PD wrong none of this would have ever happened and I would have just thought he was a great guy and it was a great office. But as the saying goes, customer service begins when something goes wrong. They messed up and they bullied me. It was a horrible experience.

He has excellent equipment that helped him diagnose my macular degeneration early. He is kind and empathetic and takes a lot of time with each patient. I never feel rushed and I always feel like I can ask any question. His staff is wonderful as well. I highly recommend Dr. McDonald.

I cannot speak to eye exams at this location but if they are anywhere near the professionalism and customer service that Linda provides this place would be/is a hone run. I ordered a pair of prescription BMW sunglasses and Tag Heuer glasses. When I came back to get fitted I learned the Tag frames were the last of their kind and were broken at the factory. After it was explained, and before I could be disappointed, Linda gave me some new choices beyond what I would usually commit to. The pair I decided on was based on trust, as always, since I can never perfectly see what I look like (cannot wear contacts). Also, great news, they were less expensive and got a refund for the difference on the spot. After getting another call a week later I went back to El Dorado. The frames fit my face, add a fresh look and I could not be happier. Oh, the sunglasses got their tweaks and I love them as well. Received positive comments first day wearing them. Easy to get to their office, plenty of shaded parking, clean location inside and out (yes some of it is dated but still inviting), nice staff and once Linda is at your service you will get nostalgia for all those times you have been provided top notch customer care.
