    Flat bread, chicken

What a hidden little gem. The menu is eclectic and creative and changes periodically. The chicken flat bread was a nice smoky flavor and fresh out of the oven. The black bean empanadas (three to an order) were crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside The soup of the moment was a vegetable concoction that felt so homemade The staff is attentive and helpful when it comes to making suggestions. The seating is cute, intimate and there are indoor and patio options and they even have a small covered area outside. Very cute but a strong outsized culinary presence.

Been planning to come here for over a month. I'd say my experience was a mixed bag. When the hostess learned that I didn't make a reservation, she seemed put off and told me that it would be at least a 45 minute wait and I had to ask to be put on the waiting list. They called me 10 minutes later and said that a table was ready, but when I walked in five minutes later the hostess again seemed put off that we wanted a table. The person who brought our water didn't address us and walked off leaving us wondering if he was our waiter, or someone who was running waters. I felt bad because I ordered the tasting menu, but my friends didn't, and this lead to them not being served until I was given my third course and we had been there an hour. We still had a good time, but I think a warning would have been appreciated that their food would be so much later than mine. It was also quite warm inside to the point that I drank about 4 glasses of ice water to try to stay cool, and one of the lights above our table had gone out so it was a little darker than I would have liked. Other than that, the atmosphere and decorations were very cozy and beautiful. They also had artwork on the walls that you could buy from local artists, which I thought was a wonderful touch. The food itself - amazing! I wish I could remember what all my courses were called, but I do know that they were served fresh, well seasoned, and plated beautifully! I practically rolled out of the restaurant at the end of the meal. My friends got the burger and the pesto mushroom flatbread with similar feedback. They also ordered a Mai tai and a mule and liked those as well. All in all, I will likely be back...just with lower expectations in regards to the service and I will probably dress for warmer weather.

We stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer. We simply sat at the couch area and enjoyed a simple evening. We enjoyed the jalapeño tots and the BBQ empanadas. Good drinks and a nice way to end a busy day!

Wow, what a hidden gem (literally, drove around the block because it was hard to find in the dark, thanks to Google we found it). My wife wanted a glass of wine and they gave her a couple tastings for her to pick the right wine. Then we decided to split the panzanella salad which was extremely delicious. I had the venison steak which was well prepared and excellently seasoned and my wife had the curry bowl. It's really cute inside and they have a very interesting cocktail list as well.

To accompany our happy hour wines my son and I ordered two of his favorite things: Mixed Mediterranean Olives ($5.50) and a Spanish cheese ($9). Perhaps I've spent too long in the Bay Area or perhaps they do things differently in Arkansas but the mountainous bowl of olives that arrived at our table sparked utter joy. This wasn't 5, 10, or even 15 olives; I think it might've been a whole jar's worth. It was not only amusing, but an utter delight. One hundred percent chance of a return visit for the olives alone. We followed with the Spanish cheese and more wine but there was no getting beyond the olives. That's what we'd be talking about. Forever. By the Glass has a good happy hour ($5/glass for selected wine) which pertains only to the wines. It's a low-key, comfortable, unpretentious spot that's received recognition as the best bar, the best wine bar, the best trendy bar, and the best happy hour bar from a variety of publications. During my visit it was quiet and welcoming, an environment I'd feel equally comfortable in either solo or with friends. If you like wine, "By the Glass" is a good find. If you like olives it's even better.

Ugh, when will this place get over itself?…read more In short, it sucks. Too loud, too smoky, and to top it off....no LIQUOR?? This kind of establishment makes me NEED stiff drink, so I was quite unsettled to learn it had none. The location has the potential to be great, but they definitely need a little help. Meanwhile, I'll go the extra half mile to Pizza D.

Already a Kavanaugh Boulevard institution, The Hillcrest Fountain recently received a total…read moremakeover (2020). Gutted and completely redone, this bar still serves up only beer & wine and attracts the local neighborhood late 20-30-somethings crowd. No food, but plenty of surprises await you... AMBIANCE Low lights enhance the dark wood and urban chic furnishings. The classic long bar has modern comfortable bar stools and those cool hangers for a handbag below. Booths and two-top bar tables are spread out and don't overcrowd the space. Even when packed with people, the crowd flow is still ok. For a dive bar vibe, this bar is spotless and stays clean. Separate men's & women's clean bathrooms are in the back near the door to their outdoor patio (not open yet, but I hear soon). Thursday-Saturday after 8pm it becomes THE place to be at night in this part of the city. Patrons during the day and during happy hour are mostly regular locals. This is a great place to meet, watch a game, play a game, share intriguing conversation, and enjoy beer and wine. Ask the bartender to show you a peek of the speakeasy door. Or don't. There is one salty bartender. BEER & WINE ONLY That said, the taps rotate an excellent sampling of local craft brews and popular national brands at very low prices compared to other local bars serving draft beer. Happy Hour daily, but not sure of what the hours or prices are. Just ask a bartender. The new keg beer system is ice cold and they seem to have just the right amount of foam as to not waste the draft. Those bartenders know how to pull a proper pint! Many other beers in bottles and cans are available. Yuengling Lager on tap ran out, but they had Yuengling Light available. They don't stay out long and the knowledgeable and polite bartenders will offer an alternative, not just say, they are out. The local popular Flyway Blue Wing was on-tap as well. The other taps spread the beer spectrum from sours to IPAs. The wine by the bottle or glass offerings are clearly well thought out with pricing and vintages meant to fit everyone's budget and wine palate. Specials by the glass are above on a chalkboard. I had a great 5 oz. glass of a Russian River Valley pinot noir, priced excellent. ENTERTAINMENT Along the mural painted East wall is a classic bar shuffleboard puck-style game. It's the one with the sawdust alley and you glide the pucks. Very cool and chill. There are two full sized billiard tables in the front center area of this bar. See the bartender with your ID and they will hand you the billiard balls rack. Nice new large televisions above the bar typically playing whatever is popular. The Olympic trials were on and the NBA finals at the same time. Bartenders are cool and will put on whatever you want within reason. Music is probably the best in the city, with the bartenders making their own playlist vibes. I think Spotify Pro with no commercials. Super groovy music, not just some selfish rando personal playlist. It's actually very well thought out. The music playlists are probably one of the most surprising things about this bar. Not too loud, just the right tempo, and a great balance of things you know and new music you want to know. Kudos to the sound vibe.

Food (9/10) Lobster Bisque (6/10): This was the only miss for me. It was a little too watery to be called a bisque, the lobster was overcooked for my liking, and it just needed more flavor. Birria Empanadas (10/10): These are usually only served during happy hour, but we asked if they happened to have any left, and they graciously said yes. I'm so glad they did. These were phenomenal--honestly one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. The crispy shell reminded me of the Wonton Tacos at Applebee's, and the filling was creamy, cheesy, meaty... just ridiculously good. Paneed Chicken (9/10): I stole a few bites from my wife's entrée, and it was excellent. The chicken was lightly breaded, tender, and flavorful, and the sauce tied everything together nicely. Brussels Sprouts (8/10): These were good, but we've had better. I would've liked them just a little more tender. Sipstock Star (7/10): If you enjoy drinks that mimic the taste of alcohol, you'll probably like this one. It wasn't sweet, but it had good flavor. Spice Spice Baby (10/10): Now this was my kind of mocktail. Sweet, refreshing, and exactly what I was hoping for. Service (8/10) Robbie took great care of us. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. We never had to wait on anything. Ambiance (9/10) Petit & Keet feels like it can be whatever you need it to be. It has a little sports bar area, a little upscale casual patio section, and a little fine dining area all under one roof. The lighting, décor and overall atmosphere make it feel warm and inviting. Lagniappe (10/10) Before we were even seated, we got a glimpse of the kind of place this is. We came in through the side entrance, and a gentleman wearing a chef's apron walked in behind us. He apologized that one of the doors wasn't working, fixed it, asked if we had a reservation, looked it up, and seated us himself. I never asked who he was, but I got the feeling he was either the owner or someone with a lot of pride in the restaurant. Those aren't things you see every day. Then, after we got home, I realized I'd lost my receipt, which I needed for expense reimbursement. I stopped by the next day, and they explained they were in the middle of prepping for dinner service but promised to text me a copy later. Sure enough, a few hours later, my receipt showed up exactly like they said it would. It's little things like that that separate good restaurants from great ones. We'd definitely come back the next time we're in Little Rock.
