Hubby & I tracked down this cute cafe' to satisfy our craving for a "buffalo burger" (which was great! kinda small though). I saw a sign that said "jam for sale" so I requested to buy 2 jars of peach jam. The waitress promptly grabbed 2 empty mason jam jars (not sure if they had been properly cleaned), then went to the frig where she poured thick yellow liquid into the jars! I was like "What the heck? and felt like a deer staring into headlights! We paid our bill & drove to our next destination. I was still in a daze at what I just witnessed! I've decided to discard the "jam" and have called the local health department! Any jam sold by a restaurant or individual seller should only sell jam to the public THAT HAS BEEN PROPERLY CANNED!!!!! The outside is wood, weathered and sun-bleached, like the town itself, like so much of the West--built plain and built to last. The door swings easy, like it's been swung a thousand times by men with calloused hands and women with tired feet. Inside, the place is low-lit and wood-paneled. A great bison stares from the wall, glass-eyed and eternal, as if he's been watching over coffee drinkers since before the first car rolled down Blue Lakes Boulevard. You find a seat easy, which feels like luck. Booths with worn vinyl, tables scuffed by elbows and time, and stools at the bar that don't mind a little weight. You sit where you like. No fuss. The girl behind the counter had ink down her arm and a look in her eyes like she'd seen a thing or two. She said, "I suggest the buffalo chip." So I did. That's how it is in a place like this. You trust the waitress and let her steer the ship. The food came hot and fast. The kind of hot that makes your mouth steam. Biscuits as big as a fist. Jelly sweet and tart, homemade, like something born in a Mason jar in a summer kitchen. The kind of jelly that brings back memories you weren't trying to find. The coffee? Not good. Not bad. I came here to eat while driving cross country. My friends and I agree that this was the best spot we stopped at during our trip. The cafe was small but cozy and there was no waiting for a table, we went around 10:00am on a Thursday morning. The server was super nice and attentive, made us feel comfortable to take our time to order. The coffee was spectacular and we even asked the server what coffee it was. If you're in this area, you have to come here!!! The prices are unheard of in this day and age with inflation. I got a full stack of pancakes and wow they were humongous! We went to a chain restaurant the other day and had a horrible experience so I was nervous. But wow!! This place is definitely a hidden gem. The service was amazing!! Had the 3 egg Veggie omelet which was massive! One perk of sitting at the counter is the almost automatic refills of the coffee, which I really didn't need but appreciated. If you like old school diners and no frills breakfasts, this is your place. It's a small quaint place in what looks like a industrial area. We just missed the rush of people who came behind us. There is no hostess and it's a first come first serve seat thing, so plan to stand and wait. We had a pretty short wait as they move people through at a good pace. Service was great and the food was better. The Buffalo chip was so flavorful and did not need any added seasoning. My son loved his buttermilk pancakes. I would have pictures but my camera malfunctioned and the picture was blurry. The short stack is 2 very large pancakes and he wasn't able to finish it. My husband had basque chorizo and eggs. The chorizo could have been cooked a bit longer but all in all you cannot go wrong with basque chorizo. The topper of the whole breakfast was the homemade biscuits and the homemade jam. Fluffy and melt in your mouth goodness topped with a sweet tart jam. It was more liquid than expected but don't let the texture fool you. This jam packs a delightful, refreshing punch of flavor. This morning we were driving home from Jackpot Nevada and decided to stop in Twin Falls Idaho for breakfast. We had our delicious breakfast at "Buffalo Cafe" on 4th Ave. W. in Twin Falls. Boy was I glad we stopped and ate at this small diner. It is open for breakfast and lunch only from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. My wife (Patti) had the sirloin steak and eggs breakfast. It was perfectly cooked rare and it came with two eggs, English muffin and hash browns. The jam they give you is home made. Patti had the blackberry jam. She loved her breakfast. All was delicious, hot and perfectly cooked. You know you are in a well liked restaurant when you see local Law Enforcement and the Army boys eating there. I had what they called "Mexican Eggs" It is really two flour tortillas with chili verde pork and cheese inside. It is topped with two eggs any style. That pork and sauce was fantastic tasting! My breakfast was also hot and it came with a great tasting side of re-fried beans. Great service and in a nice, clean environment. So if you are ever in Twin Falls I recommend you go into Buffalo Cafe and order any breakfast. Great menu and you will stand up and say to everyone "You Gonna Eat That"! We went here for breakfast this morning and it was great. The service was warm, attentive and friendly. We ordered the two eggs and bacon traditional breakfast with toast and potatoes, and the chile verde with scrambled eggs. The traditional breakfast was very good except the bacon was a little to crispy for me but loved their homemade jam that comes with the toast. The chile verde was awesome and it was stuffed in a flour tortilla, with cheese, sour cream, eggs and beans. My family and I stopped here for some breakfast before heading back home to California. Found this place from Yelp and decided to try it since the reviews were so good. This place is absolutely delicious! Food, service and ambiance was on point. This is a cute small diner filled with big flavor. My dad got the Huevos Rancheros, large portion! Mom got the pancake special, pancakes are massive and so fluffy and flavorful. Hubby got the Hunter eggs, he got the half order with the massive biscuit. He added their homemade blackberry jam and made this soft biscuit even more insane. I had a BLT and fries, good portion and very flavorful!
